For the record, I don't think they're trees. But why are we speaking in such strong ardent absolutes? I mean, it's not impossible. I think Fuzzdork mentioned that they'd catch on fire if they were, but the pillars aren't situated near the infernal ground, and I see no reason to assume there is lava beyond the visible point. Also, I don't see Scorpion catching on fire. Perhaps that's because of his spectral nature, but who's to say that same nature couldn't apply to said figures in the background. Again, they're probably not trees, but this dogmatic attitude behind that view seems a bit much.

Reason 1:Trees are not stone/rocky pillars
Reason 2:I've seen many ridiculous things that Midway would put in MK that would actually have that MK feel ,but undead trees would not be one of them.Use common sense.

Alright let me answer this cause you're fuckin getting on my nerves. Have you ever had a bonfire? What do you put in that bonfire to keep it going...? WOOD! Trees would vanish anywhere near lava! And why the fuck would these trees have souls?

Okay, now I'm going to demonstrate why these premises have no basis in common sense:

You're first reason: You haven't shown that the trees are stone in substance. You can't infer the texture, nor even the full shape of the structure from the render alone, and color/shade by itself can't tell you anything about the composite nature of the structure. Saying that the structure is not a tree because it's stone by composition is an invalid inference.

You're second reason: I could write pages on your problem here, but I'll try to keep this short. From the perspective of common sense, the tree need not be undead in order to be supernatural, spectral, or demoniac. Saying the structures can't be trees because Midway wouldn't render undead trees assumes a false dichotomy: there is a third possibility that the structures could be neither of those items. Cursed trees? demonic trees? We don't even need common sense for this issue because we have empirical evidence from previous games that such trees do exist (EX: living forest).

And to the last user, you have to show two things to be true in order for your argument to work: that the trees indeed are situated near a source of heat beyond our point of visibility, AND that the nature of these trees make them vulnerable to fire. You proved neither of these claims. If a tree is indigenous to hell, I'd imagine it would be impervious to fire. Saying the opposite would be silly.

I'm not saying you guys are wrong, I'm saying you've proven nothing.

Can someone please end this miserable thread, seeing how the last three pages are filled with arguments made towards me and the creator which shouldn't have existed but did?

Notice the similar cracks on the flood (minus the lava in-between the cracks) and the "undead-tree" like things around the area, as well as that brown/orange color shade. Also if you look CAREFULLY, both levels have those teeth around the playable area.
