i don't know, but it did make for an awesome ending to the video. i honestly don't even think the video is canon, so yeah...hope that helps.

The whole intro vid was just for fun. I think its non cannon.

If anything the intro vid is the most canon thing about the game, aside from konquest. The intro vids to Deadly Alliance and Deception are canon.

Its canon, in a way. I mean, that battle that we see takes place while Taven's fighting Daegon and Blaze. The only thing I'm doubting about it when it comes to be canon is when all of the kombatants rush towards Blaze. I'm pretty sure we never saw that happen or any mention of that happening in Konquest...

Or, maybe when all the kombatants starting running up there, Taven and Daegon had already started fighting him.

ok thats shangs true form hes an ugly old man, he only gets that when when he starts to lose power, so im guessing from all that fighting he started losing his power and he didnt absorb any souls..... just a guess here

Oh! I think everyone is losing their powers because Taven was beating Blaze. So that's why Shang was turning old, because he's losing his powers.

I thought the whole reason why he was gettin old was coz he had liu kangs hooks in his back and his souls where leaving him hence why he was getting old!.. he's dying!!

well lets look at what happened....shang ran up tot he top..liu put his hooks into his shoulder..didn't change shang..shang just was like "ow fuck that hurts, and now i can't run"

then all the sudden blaze turns around and is a huge fucking monster and screams right in the face of shang...

i think his face changing was just to represent how big of a badass and threat blaze is supposed to be.....i mean i dunno about you, but if i was trying to run up to the top to fight this blaze guy, and shang being an egotistical "i'll fight anyone and win" badass that he acts like he is.....so...if i was shang and i ran up top there trying to be a sneaky badass and then all the sudden the guy i am supposed to take out all the sudden appears, and he's a big, flaming, pissed off beast and he screams right in my face...i would prolly go OH SHIT!!! and turn white too.

It's more than turning white. Hasn't anyone played MK1? Shang Tsung is really an old man and he depends on souls to keep him young. His true form was being revealed.

and the situation shang was in has nothing to do with his true form, it's just supposed to represent that blaze is a big badass that could end everything in the mk universe. hence why his facial experession was that of SHIT. be logical here people, it's just supposed to represent it scared the shit out shang is all.

i think it was just that he needs more souls. he didn't look like he was scared of blaze, he looked desperate. how would you feel if the only thing seperating between you and a fight for god like powers was chains stuck in your shoulders? anyway the old thing is just to add on that and make the ending cooler, that's all

Well they need to stop that crap, if it is only to make the ending in the intro cooler. I still don't understand why Shang came right back to life after Quan Chi killed him in the MKD intro. Man the MK series has really taken a nosedive since MK2.

It's obviously not just to make the ending cooler. It's his true form. He was starting to look like that because he must've been dying, either by the injuries caused by Liu Kang and the fighting before, or the sheer power of Blaze. He wouldn't just randomly turn old for no reason.

the fact liu kang stalled him is irrelevant to what is going on and what was asked by the person who started this topic. and yes maybe shang was desperate to reach the top to get godlike power...that's a given from the start for ALL of the fighters. i dunno about you...but i dunno how you can mistake someone's eyes growing really wide and their mouth opening as not being scared and shocked. but hey that's just me, where i live and come from when people go that means they are frightened and shocked by something, not desperate and dying.
