Although he sucked in MK4, his moves were actually good in MKM. But that's not my point
I remember playing Konquest and Shinnok said thank you to Shujinko.
Does my memory serve me correct when I say Shinnok said something like "I will repay you for your service to me" or something.
This probably sound REALLY stupid, but does anyone think they would bring Shinnok back? Perhaps he interferes with Raiden trying to kill Shujinko for screwing up so bad and he saves Shujinko. So then Shinnok and Shujinko end up as two butt-buddies (not literally).
Shinnok was alive inside the prison after all... but then again so was Reptile yet Onago was supposed to have used his body.
I'm sorry bought MKD seems to be full of contradictions because of them just throwing in every single character in that damn prison. I don't know who the fuck is alive and dead anymore.

He is one character I want to stay GONE FOREVER... They better not bring him back.

The prison is meaningless. Just a joke for nostalgia. Don't look into it.
I wouldn't mind seeing Shinnok return. He had a good story and seemed pretty cool in Mythologies, but they screwed him up royally in MK4. If they bring him back he'd need a pretty big overhaul.

We have learned through Konquest mode that Shinnok IS still alive after MK4. It clearly states that God's do not die. Their essence always rematerializes (Raiden for example).

Really puts things into perspective, when a teenager pop singer turns out to be the re-incarnation of a german warlord.

I also noticed that he is wearing different clothes to his mk4 ones.
I've never really liked Shinnok, but a disgraced elder god with no allies does sound like a pretty good storyline for a futre MK game.
Just don't make him a boss again.

Shinnok was banished back to the Netherealm in Mortal Kombat 4 by both Liu Kang and Raiden. I believe this because Liu Kang had 4 Dragon Emblems for each time he defeated the threats of Earthrealm. I would not mind the return of Shinnok if his story turned to a new page and if his look was completley altered.

I addressed this in another thread a while back but I'll make my opinions known here 2...
Shinnok is one of the many kombatants we shud never ever see again.
Im all for returnin kombatants but enough is enough, no more Shinnok, no more Kai, no more Stryker and I reckon I could go on
We've moved on from Shinnok's plot and he was sub par anyway. Rushed, his look did nothing for me personally.
If anyone important reads this : dont bring him back!

I can see him coming back...as already pointed out by someone else, Gods do not necessarily die. Especially Shinnok, who was once an Elder God. If anything, I would imagine that the Amulet caused his essence to be destroyed and scattered throughout the realms when Quan Chi used it against him. He may eventually come back if he finds a way to reform himself.
And if he does...as long as he receives a COMPLETE overhaul with new moves and whatnot, wouldn't be bad to see him again. I mean, they brought back Tanya, one of the most bland and pointless characters in the history of MK, and gave her a somewhat better story, so why not Shinnok?

shinnok was a cool character...to a certain extent. he was fine the first couple of times but mk did a really good job with the dragon king and what not.. i think what is in the past should stay in the past.

I hated MK4 but loved the chacters, and the ones lucky enough to be given a second chance (Tanya) turned out great. I would love to see Shinnok back sometime soon.

I agree with djwoodford. Characters who return seem better. Like Tanya for example. She is 10 times better now. Kai would be an awesome character to bring back. And so would Shinnok and Fujin and if they completely changed Jarek, well then him too. If they can bring an old character and make them better then do it. Because so far, I'm only a fan of a few new characters and I love when old characters return. grin

Shinnok really should return, more powerfull than ever.
Now that Raiden becomes a little Evil and relinquished his status as Elder Gods, maybe he can return to the Gods, and try to destroy him.
Just give him a lot of new powers, no more transformatios.

Shinnok's return is a bit far-fetched but then again...it definitely would not surprise me at all for one reason:
Why would they put a MK4 Render of him in MK:D's Krypt in the first place? Any art always has a purpose for being there.

First and foremost...
The characters you see on the Prison stage are just props.
Konquest mode it not in any way connected with Arcade Mode. (Except Shujinko's mistake).
