Should Sub-zero be immune to supermans Ice Breath? Ed Boon is thinking about it.

He wasn't a three-dimensional CG build with any sense of individuality in the way he moved, either. Meet progress!

About Me
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yes sir, the check is in the mail."

Yeah, it'd be fantastic if they were doing it with everyone!
I mean, that's half the fun of the superhero environment.
Superman could beat the shit out of half these guys, but Lex Luthor (and Batman) have a habit of carrying Kryptonite around and could take him out, even though Lex would get beaten by a host of other characters (ie; Captain Marvel).
The character/plot driven dynamics are why there are far fewer complaints from fanboys about the similarities between Superman and Captain Marvel. They're used to thinking with their heads, rather than their thumbs.
Most games - fighters included - definitely seem to be heading toward some sort of hyper realism and this would be a great step! It would just need to be part of the thinking process from the very beginning, rather than something slapped on for one or two favourite characters.
Given how comfortable most MK fans seem to be with the clunky simplicity of uniform fight styles, it might also be too much of a risk if they're relying on moderate successes from every game. I don't know. It might be soft enough a change to sneak through, as opposed to say, the example of removing the HUD.

It would make perfect sense, but yet again, then you'll have characters that will be immune to others as what Mick stated. Then it'll be no fun anymore when majority of the characters are immuned to something else. What fun would that be?

Jack Burton liked Nathan and Mick-Lucifer's posts.
I agree totally with them; it would be cool for things like that, but it'd be just like opening "Pandora's box," to borrow Mick-Lucifer's analogy. Just think of some of the less "powerful," or less gifted characters that would suffer because of it. Guys like Raiden, Superman, Sub-Zero, and other magical/special beings would have such an edge on the more humanized characters it would almost be unfair. They'd practically steamroll the others.
Although that would be a little more "real" given who they are and what they're about, but for the issue of game balance, keep things as they are.
And THAT'S what Jack Burton has to say at this time.
Sonya was immune to Johny Cages nut punch (shes a women)
Kenshi was immune to Sonya's smoke breath (hes blind)
it did not make any difference in the long run, unless
your ego was against it (customer satisfaction). Its only logical such alterations are possible, but don't dread fighting Superman or vice versa if the occasion occurs. Just learn to adapt.
The best way to enjoy a game is by knowing as little as possible about it, until the day of its release. To much expectations or information about the game can only bring sadness and anger towards it, if you where aiming at something much better this time around for your money.

Still there's too much chance of breaking the game balance here,
Also some like to know as much about the game as possible (no, I'm not included)
I don't think it would break the game balance. It's not like every character has an ice movie and only Sub-Zero takes less damage. That's like saying because Kenshin doesn't get blinded, it breaks the game balance.
It's just giving characters strengths and weaknesses.

Yes he should be immune because MK fighting games should have alot of personality

Yeah let's go make Superman invincible... Strengths and weaknesses can be easily balanced wrong, I wouldn't have it done

Exactly, if he was immune he wouldn't be able to kill himself like that. Besides, Frost was able to freeze him and Sub-Zero could freeze Sub-Zero.sub-zero should not be immune to the freeze breath if you guys dont remember sub's hara-kiri he freezes himself.

Ever had a corked thigh?
It's not like it's made of steel. Being punched in the vagina is still going to hurt! Maybe we could put (good manners) in the bracket?

IMO, some fighters should have those immunities such as Sub-Zero and the Freeze Breath of Superman. But instead of not fully affecting him, he can just break out of it faster than others. Certain charathers can be balanced out like this like Scorpion wont be fazed too much by any fire damage but still take it on the damage. we'll just have to wait n see how the final game product turns out. Just a few more weeks

But umm last I checked this was mortal kombat. You can die five hundred times and come back to life, you can have your head bitten off and come back to life, you can even expload(Shang Tsung) and come back to life...so yeah, reality isen't always present in MK.
