I think that an elemental Smoke is the most likely...I mean he could also be a tortured soul/undead warrior like Scorpion and possibly even the revamped Liu Kang, but hell he could be a replacement for Fujin as the wind god for all we know LOL....but the true question remains...Where's our final reborn mystery ninja, Rain!?!?!?!?!

Anyway, I've had a few thoughts on the physical make-up of Smoke, and I do agree he will have an elemental Aura at the very least. I don't expect him too look like a rain cloud or anything, but definitely he'll be shrouded in his signature novelty in some way or another.

Surely he will have to have the smoke surround/come off his body. That is his signature appearance trait and also where the name comes from. It would be silly to lose that feature.

Konqrr did say that he wouldn't be human nor cyborg. Does that also mean that he couldn't be both? Maybe he has somehow shed some of the robotic shell and revealed flesh in some areas? So a bit of both? I don't know if that goes against Konqrr's statement or not. He technically didn't say anything more...

1st I Know This Is Stupid And All But For Those Of You Who Saw The 2nd Deception Movie At The Very End Where Subzero Is Fighting The Ninja In Black..Well Im Pretty Sure He IS Smoke Because Well His Names Short I Mean If You Look Or Try To Look You'll See His Name Is To Short To Be "Scorpion" Or "Noob Saibot" But I Guess We Wont Know Till They Take Off That Sign :|

One that would suffocate you? I would rather have Motaro, Sektor, Cyrax, Stryker, Scorpion, Shao Kahn, Sonya, Jax, Kenshi, Sub-Zero, Frost, Kitana, Sindel, The Dragon King or someone normal as my friend as friends personally, but that's just me.

I'm fuckin happy as hell Smoke is back. I've been lobbying for him to come back ever since trilogy. And even though Konqrr said he'd be human nor cyber doesn't mean he'd be just made of smoke. I mean it's a cool idea but if was just made of smoke how would you perform a fatalilty on him?

Unless he had the ability to solidify himself in human form and turn into smoke like Dracula could with mist. I really hope he's a ninja though. I just picture a ninja mask with eyes that have smoke coming out like a just extinguished cigar. That would be bad ass. I also can't wait to see his story. Hopefully they continue with him being Sub-Zero's best freind but maybe he's evil this time because he wants the dragon amulet to enhance his smoke powers. Maybe he's trying to decieve Sub-Zero. Whatever though I'm just glad to hear he will be in MK:D as a playable character again. I can't wait.

im glas smoke is back... i think his form will either be part robot and part human or more likely he found a way to escape his physical body all together and is just smoke... but in the shape of a human... if you've ever seen that movie hollowman?? i think... where the invisbile guy is killing those people and he comes out of the smoke and it looks like the smoke has his face etc.. something kinda like that ... smoke shifting in and out of a human form.... kind of an elemental look to it.... depending how they make it work it could look really cool... or really stupid... i just hope they don't make him look like blaze... he needs to be more distinctive than taht in appearance... if you can see his body it needs to look like a ninja or human form.. not blaze plain body....

BTW, I feel pretty sure that he will be half and half. Why all of a sudden have the andorid look idea stopped even though a member here actually lengthened the idea?

Lol I don't want this turned into a Rain topic, I was just stating that he's the only one still illusive. A rain/smoke cloud would be funny as hell for some sort of joke pic. My worst fear is that Smoke will end up looking like Cyrax's DA alt. costume. I never liked the design, I thought it was terrible. So I'm going to still believe that an elemental Smoke is the way they are going. Other suggestions?

Agreed Smoke has been one of my favs since MK3. I am glad to see him back, now I am hoping for Frost!!! :.(

First off, Hell Yeah!!!Smoke is back!!!!!!
Now for his look. I want him to have a Ryu Hayabusa look.(new Ninja Gaiden)What I mean is that his ninja outfit should have the same princilpe, one piece and leather. But he should also retain some of his cybernetics. Maybe he can have glowing red eyes and his feet and arm gaurds are also cybernetic.He could have an opening in his chest to shoot out his projectiles. That would be the only place not covered by his out fit, with the exceptions of his arms.

I didn't fight with Smoke often, I always chose Scorpion, but I was always a big fan of his story and that he's an ally to Sub-Zero. I'm extremely happy that he's back and his story can be expanded on. I'm not sure what his costume should be. Him being purely made out of smoke doesn't make much sense. Oh well.

If they're bringing back Smoke to join up with Sub-Zero, I will be extremely bored with the two's storylines. We've seen it all before. If anything, I hope Smoke has turned homicidal and joined the Dragon King is return for being given a soul.

They've got Sub-Zero two allies, Frost and Sareena. Maybe even Scoprion or Cyrax. Why Smoke? Why not a new Lin Kuei ninja prodigy? Create a new character that can tie in with current storylines, not dead ones.

I really like the idea of smoke returning. I thought he had alot of potential.

In order to retain his uber-Scorpionlikeness, Smoke's weapon should be a Kusari-gama, which should be wielded in one move similar to the classic harpoon.

I actually believe that Cyrax's alternate costume would suit Smoke very well; if he was like that, then he'd be neither human, nor cyborg, but both. Plus, it'll reflect the fact that he always had his soul and that even his mechanical body and programing couldn't subdue it.

Personally, I'm not exactly thrilled to see Smoke. I always thought he was somewhat of a pointless character... He worked in MK2 (although he was probably the most boring character in the game) and his storyline in MK3 wasn't extremely horrible, but I'm glad they didn't take things further and brought him to MK4 and MKDA. IMO, he's a redundant character, and I would much rather have seen characters more relevant to the MKDA plot in MKD - like Kung Lao, Mavado or Nitara.

Sub-Zero needs a buddy. Seriously, he's got a demon, Sareena, who will probably stab him in the back first chance she gets, a former lin Kuei ally who turned Cyborg, tried to kill him, then got turned back into a human and went off to join the army, a spectre who killed his older brother who may or may not be his protector depending on your preference of plotline, and a promising student who tried to steal his source of power.

GOD, he needs a buddy. Why not his old best friend? I hope they don't mess with that...

Additionally, I hope, aside from having something to do with smoke, he's given a special move of some sort involving super-speed bursts, like in MKII. true that Jade and Noob had that, and Reptile before them, but Smoke was just blindingly fast. I'd love to see that again.

Shadaloo, why not have Sareena, Frost adn a new Lin Kuei ninja be jis buddies for this game? Why Smoke? It steps on the toes of the fabrics of this game.
