Honestly, even REPTILE has a better chance of being his counterpart, because of his quick reptilian nature, reverse elbow, super crawl, and dash punch. But oh no, he's not in the game. And don't say Kabal, because, like Cage, ONE MOVE INVOLVING SPEED DOESN'T MEAN THEY'RE A SPEEDY CHARACTER

I was agreeing with you until the kabal part, kabal was inspired by the flash. Know your MK history.

Calm Down. People want Cage/Flash because Cage and the DCAU Flash are very similar, personality wise. Both are corny, wise cracking, cocky, all-about-me, ladies men.

I have said it before. Boon stated that we could guess 90% of the roster. Why only 90% if we know who the icons are. NOT ALL ICONS WILL BE IN!!!!. I promise you that KABAL will be in the game. everyone remembers him so why not put him in. Kabal was the first character who alomost everyone played with when mk3 first came out. that one dash speed iconic move says it all. Kabal is Flash's counter part.

I know he was based off the flash, and Tusken Raiders from Star Wars. But that doesn't mean he'll be a good coutnerpart.

A lot of you think all characters HAVE to have identical powers and abilities to be counterparts.
It's mostly character wise in personality and all that will go with the story's plot, alliances and etc.

I mean, we don't see Batman having the ability to throw ice now do we?

So, Scorpion and Superman have similar personalitites?

And besides, JC only goes along well with the DCAU Flash, which this is not. YES it is Wally West, NO it is not the DCAU Wally West, therefore, they don't mix personality wise either

Already mentioned, Kabal was inspired by the Star War "Sand people" (hence working name, Sandman). One of his moves might have been inspired by the Flash, but I'd like to think we're all smart enough to see the similarities end there. (Too bad for me!)

If you want to get into the implication of characters, the only one with anything resembling superhuman speed is Raiden, but even then, that's a very uncharacteristic reading of his capabilities.

Reptile, Ermac, Noob, Rain, Mileena, Mokap, and any other character that you might like to see in the game that hasn't been announced yet? No.


It's fair to say over the years Wally West has had moments of being downright morose [ie; 2004's identity debacle], with recent issues being no exception!

People keen to find parallels between characters might like to consider looking outside the superpowers box, perhaps toward moral fibre.
If there can be comparison made with characters who've been released in pairs, you could very easily build a broad argument for commonality between dedicated heroes like those of the Justice League and Outerworld Investigation Agency (Flash and Sonya, respectively).

Or, if you really want to be literal, maybe look elsewhere!

I wish you get over the fact that your favorite character won't be making an appearance in the game. I don't even see Reptile being a speedy character, and yes, I know my MK facts thank you, I've been playing it longer than you, 2 years longer to be exact, if you're really 15, but still... If forever reason Kabal should make a show in this game, (Not saying that he will, but if... IF is the keyword there and I use it in such a meaningful way) Kabal would be the best counterpart for him.

But the problem is this... Neither Reptile nor Kabal will be in the game, so in that case, I can only see Raiden being the choice, Raiden is much faster with his Flying Spear move (I forgot the name of it) the teleport move which is quite fast, Raiden is a God... how I can see this is perfect. Flash comes racing towards him, all Raiden has to do is send down that lightning bolt of his and BOOM, Flash goes flying in the air, Raiden spears him, teleports behind him, big combo, Flash is dead. I'm going a little bit out of hand here, but Raiden would be the perfect choice for Flash, due to the fact that Raiden is somewhat speedy, his moves are quick, and that well... why wouldn't he be? He's a God... well, more like an Elder God, hence the word "God" is said in that title. Dir!

Meh, I honestly think Raiden isn't a good choice, and see him as a counterpart for Supes more then Scorpion is. And seriously, a long as Reptile lived through MKA, I'm cool

1.Have they've been confirmed as each other's counterparts in the first place?

2.Hey, since he's had quite a personality change, do we really know he's gonna keep all serious in this game's story?

Just because you disagree with someone doesn't mean you're automatically right. It doesn't matter if your "theories" stack up. The game hasn't been released. Everything is still up in the air. God, this game isn't even canon and people are taking it so seriously. Who cares with whom the kombatants match up, and if they DO even match up... just let it be a fun game.

He might not as explicitly allude to quickness the way Raiden's lightning speed of light does, but that seems like a fair enough extrapolation. I wouldn't want to commit to it, but the gods definitely deserve that benefit of extrapolation a lot more than wheezing cyborgs and charging indians.

Scorpion and Superman don't make good counterparts but they are. Catwoman and Shangtshung either but they are. Logic doesn't really go with this game. If you want, maybe Kai? He was extremely fast in MK4 but like most characters, were sluggish in MKA. But if they can restore Kai's speed then it would be great, but ofcourse, Kai won't be returning, he's too new. I wish that they would just throw being iconic out the window and actually go with logic.

...Just because it's not cannon to the game, doesn't mean people don't have the right to not take this game seriously enough like the other MK games that have been out there. I'm not taking this game seriously enough, because as you said, you just want it to be a fun game, though it's fun to debate with other people here about who's the other's counterparts and who's not. We can all have a little fun with this can't we?

Lui Kang is Superman's counter part. Boon never said Scorpions's counterpart was Superman.

Just because, Boon releases characters at the same time doesn't mean they're counter parts.

I thought Superman and Scorpion were confirmed to be coonterparts? They are both arguably the biggest icons and are instantly recognisable in their respective franchises.

Back on topic , I agree that Cage would be the perfect counterpart for Flash but I don't believe that Midway would prolong his announcement.....
