some characters you didnt like in the beginning but you learned to appreciate with time

for my part:

- Hsu Hao (i thought he was too generic ...but when i played not so long ago i actually tought he was cool with his the transplanted thing in his heart and his overall look is not so bad)

- Sindel (thought she was stupid but now i think she is a very good character as far as originality and she is a really good fighter too)

- Ermac ( with a little practice he becomes really usefull)

- Sektor ( when i first saw the drawing of the characters of MK3 in a magazine i was like: "this is the coolest looking character ever he's a robot and he's red!" then i tried him and was shitty with him, the i started thinking he was useless and shitty...I prefered the beginners' character Cyrax with his cheap green net move ...but these days me and my friend (dopefiend999 on this board) are always playing MKT, and we both realised he was Kickass!

Mavado. Bah, he reminds me of an avacado...lol jk.

When i was first introduced to mavado, i really didnt like him, i thought he was just a wasted character like hsu hao. But then i started to like him more because of his story and how his red dragon clan will soon be a threat to subzero. Even though i'm seriously pissed he killed (or wounded) kabal, i learned to like mavado. After all, he reminds me of a mafia character.

I didn't like Kung Lao in the beginning because back in MK2 Liu Kang was my favorite and I always thought of Kung Lao as an asshole who only wanted to take Liu Kang's spot and wanted to steal his honor and start a rivalry with Liu Kang. I thought wrong, I soon found out that he was a noble monk who joined Liu Kang to gain revenge for the death of his people ... Kung Lao actually grew on me, after each Mortal Kombat.

I also never liked Ermac because he appeared to me as just a red ninja. After I found out that he is actually a mentor and father figure to Kenshi I seemed to respect him now.

Mokap......wait, i still hate Mokap.....anyway, there arnt any characters in MK that i ever truly disliked......cept for Mokap.....

Oh yea you reminded me, I also didn't like Mavado in the beginning because I thought he was going to be an arrogant idiot just trying to kill Kano for glory. But I relized that he wanted Kano out of the picture so he could concentrate on many other things that were taking place around him. I picture Mavado now as a leader and a very cunning person who stalks his opponent's like a hunter does to game and takes them out. Look at his results, he nearly killed Kenshi, has taken out Kabal whom I didn't like and informed Hsu Hao to take out the Special Forces base. I think that Mavado is a very deadly foe and has much experience on executing things in a very professional way.

hahaha...mokap. You say it but dont want to believe hes actually in the game...like its a big joke and shit.

The characters i grew to like are hsu hao, kenshi, and frost. All of them are new to me wiht the DA installment...after i got tired of the classics like sub and scorpion i moved out and found these three to be useful...i still HATE mavado (what a joke)

You know what I hate about the name Mavado ? It's the spanish word "malvado" (wich means evil) only its misspelled ! The same goes for Bo Rai Cho wich is suppossed to be "borracho" (drunk). Oh well.

At 1st I hated Nightwolf. I thought the whole indian story just didn't fit MK , and scince I sucked when I used him , I just didn't like him. When I learned to use the guy I enjoyed him a lot more , and his look is pretty cool (for an indian , I guess).

And I have to admit that I grew to like Stryker , even though his story sucks.

I didn't like Jax in the beginning, because he was so over-the-top, but now, I've actually begfun to like him BECAUSE he's over-the-top :)

I didn't like Cyrax either, he looked cool et al, but he's got the worst fighting styles and combo's. But I've trained with him and now I like him a lot more.

I didn't like Drahmin at first because he had no apparent combos. But then I learned how to play him and do his juggles and now he's one of my favorites. I hope he comes back in MKD in some form.
