Temp speaks very maturely and wisely, and I commend him for that. Sometimes I blow up on people and start cussing when all I should do is walk away. But I only do that to stupid people, not as in newbies, but as in people who make threads just to get attention like IOWNYOU and tell lies at the same time, I have NO problem screaming/flaming them.

However, I think all of this stuff is taken way out of proportion. Like I said above, the best thing to do is to ignore things, even though I have trouble doing that myself sometimes. Honestly, making a thread like this isn't gonna change anything, but at least you tried. Thanks for that.

On a side note, the only information i've ever trusted is from Konqrr or Kel-X cause they are right almost always. Maybe I should be listening to you more temperary, but I thought someone else originally divulged the Li Mei information first?

All in all, it really doesn't matter. Once the game comes out, we'll forget about all this crap and just enjoy playing it. I'd pay good money if I could get the game right now :D

Well said Temp. All valid points that NEED addressing...Flame wars, especially ones that are absolutely ridiculous (actually ANY flame war is ridiculous) really don't help anyone....I mean thinkin about it: Doesn't it take MORE energy to put someone down and be a complete jerk for no reason, then to simply answer the question and let it die? You know that a mod will eventually post something like "Question answered, thread closed" it happens all the time...so Why waste time and energy trading insults and getting skulled or banned? Also it's really funny to see that some of the people complaining that they don't ever go up in rank, are busy contributing to whatever flame war is goin on and racking up the skulls. *Shrugs* That kinda makes me laugh.

I try to not ever be insulting or rude, not to say that it could NEVER happen, but I try.

With that bein said, this isnt a Deception thread, this is a "forum related" thread, so can some moderator please delete?

It pertains specifically to the MKD section of the forum. If it were about the general section, you'd be right. Therefore, it will most likely stay open. Anyway, I'll dissect the points one at a time.

Reguarding the Search forum, I've used the thing many times, and I often have to edit my search numerous times to find anything remotely close to what I wanted. A new thread is not only a sure solution, but may actually bring new ideas to light. But anyway, I still don't see the difficulty in ignoring the thread if one believes it to be spam.

As for the term noob, it's usual given to new users who troll, flood, or just make annoying and pointless comments. I think there's a separate term newb, which has a somewhat different meaning, and that probably means "new user"(I'm not certain at all though, heh).

And about Smoke, well, time will reveal all.

Now although this is the internet, and forums do attract some of the stupidest people on the planet, there is a level of etiquette that needs to be followed. I have nothing against correcting people. Hell, I do that on an almost daily basis. It's calling the other user an idiot that accomplishes virtually nothing and ends up creating those flame wars with 50+ posts I was reffering to earlier(and that takes up more bandwidth than any repeated topic). By insulting the user, not only is s/he likely to disreguard everything else you said(the point, especially), but will probably become defensive and keep an arguement to the top of the front page until a mod eventually closes it. And it's never just one user who calls the noob an idiot, it's usually eight or nine, which is completely unnecessary. What was the point of reiterrating that fact? None whatsoever. Posting the same thing in one thread spam.

If you nicely approach the user and point out the wrong, there's a good chance they'll listen to you and learn from the mistake. Insults nulify any possibility of such. I really don't care if they deserved the insult or not. Let the users maintain peace, and mods maintain justice

And yes, I know that there are a lot of users who's only goal is to stir up shit. I don't like them either, but flaming them doesn't work, it just gives them the attention they were begging for. They don't care if it's positive or negative attention. As said above, ignoring them goes a long way. That doesn't just go for users, but posts and threads as well.

But ERorr_MACross, I do respect your opinion, as well as yours ReptilianHelms. I may not entirely agree with you two, but my concern is how opinions are expressed, not the opinions themselves. I actually enjoy debates if they're structured right.

I'm not really and insider, I just reinforce what Konqrr and Queve say. smile That was the case with Li Mei, and when Konqrr started getting flames for telling the truth about her, I started backing up Li Mei's presence in the game. He was the first, as far as I know.

Thanks for all the replies, people. grin Whether you agree or disagree, I still want to hear your say.

It's about time that this was said, and I couldn't have chosen a better person to put it into words. Thanks Temperary.

There have been assholes on this site for a loong time. I think it's about time that they learn that it's pointless to bash and burn on the net. All that that will lead to is closed threads or arguments that will never end. So, Lighten Up people. Just enjoy yourself while you still can, and don't make things more complicated than they are. Don't worry, be happy.

Thanks again for the Thread bud,

I thought this thread was going to be towards me and anyone having difficulties liking this game, after what i said in a different thread about my opinion on how the older MK games were rolling in their graves over this newer one...but yeh, anyways to clear that up, i was just venting like Temp is in this thread...and i gave detail...

anyways, Temp, youre right about what you said in this thread...I hate new people calling others new...way I see it, if you havent been around a year, you're new...if you say you've been around reading for 3, and never became a member until a month ago...guess what...youre new...so new people, stop acting like youre a big shot and telling people to do...I dont respect you, and I hope the ones you talk to dont respect you, you earn that...bossing people around isnt a way of earning it.

Everyone's already said what I was going to say, so I'm not going to add anything further to the "well said" part of this.

However, if someone is being entirely stupid and a tool, I will have no inhibitions in flaming them.

I don't know why people are so irritable, but I'm beginning to feel like half the MKD section is filled with bitter old men, and the other half with mindless little children.

People can't even ask questions anymore without getting flamed. If you're so offended by the fact that it's a repeated topic, just nicely answer the question and let the topic die with only two or three posts. Don't condemn the user for not memorizing every thread in the one day he or she has been at the site. That's how small simple threads turn into flame wars with 50+ replies. And it has nothing to do with noobs, it's all about self-righteous asses who think it's their job to keep noobs in check.

And don't even give me that bullshit about the search forum. It's meant for referrence to old or popular threads if one wanted to revisit them. To expect any new user to sort through hundreds of Cyrax threads just to find one about the Hotaru is a joke. It's a thousand times easier to make a thread, and even more easier to ignore it if you think it's spam. Nevermind the fact that the thread may trigger some new intelligent conversation and speculation. If a person makes a Subzero thread when there are already eight exact ones on the front page, that's different. If someone tries to claim blatantly false info and half-truths with no evidence, that's different. If somone completely ignores reading the other posts of thread, and asks something that has been answered just two posts above, that's different.

But I really don't care if your justified in correcting the person or not. "correcting" someone isn't the issue. Being an asshole is the problem hand, and if you go apeshit over something as little an already-answered-question, then you're worse then they are. Keep the high ground.

A noob is an immature user who has no reguard at all for the community itself. If a new user wants to join our community, great. If that user makes a few mistakes, don't shit yourself. It happens. Live and learn, right?

And some of these people aren't even new users, they're returning to the community after a year or so due to the recent exposure of MKD. They're coming back to the site to learn more about the game, and to flame them for not knowing about Hari Kari is just stupid and immature. Some of these guys are my old peers, and I don't appreciate some people flaming them for little or no reason.

And finally, I know there are a lot of people are getting burned for defending Smoke's non-cyborgness(didn't know how to phrase it, lol). I know you're correct, but there's no point trying to convince others who refuse to believe otherwise. Just let time prove you correct. I was flamed left and right for saying that Li Mei was in the game and that her model was nowhere near being mileena's alt(I still can't believe people were that blind). But eventually, she was confirmed and all the flamers were dead silent. Just think of it as a card game. Soon, all the hands will be in the light, you'll come out victorious. Till then, there's really no point debating it.

All in all, calm down, peeps.

Dont be a hipocrite, all this time you took to write this novel tells me one thing. That YOU need to lighten up.

People will do what they please, post what they plz, and say what they please ( according to the guidlines ). You cant change the world or the people in it, so dont waste your time. If you dont like it, fire up your own forums and enforce your own rules. But that would be a waste of time as well, noone wants someone sitting over them saying you cant do or say this, your outta here.

I can agree that some of the threads here are a bit redundant, but thats life, you dont have to read it, you dont have to flame it either. So just accept the fact that its always going to be like this cause there is no way around it.
Very well said I mean people argue over ths stupidest things. As i was taught "If you dont have something nice to say dont say it at all"

glad someone is mature enough to bring this up. Some people just refuse to understand others. It gets me mad. Especially if its some remore they heard and it was confirmed a year ago it is not true and everyone yells at them.

*cheers*

I tried unsuccessfully to get this point acorss in the now 15 page long VF > MK:D thread. Posted something to prove the point of how shallow some people are when trying to cram their opinions down others throats through flames. Yet, ironically enough, cannot take it when someone does the exact same thing to them.

I completely agree with everything that was said in Temp's original post. There's no need to flame somebody because they have been out of the loop on MK:D information. Someone who repeatedly posts false information... It would be much more effective to post nothing at all on his threads and let it slip to the fifth or sixth page in a couple of hours. If he/she does it again and again the mods will catch on and eventually warn then ban him/her. Simple as that.

Well structured debates I also enjoy. What sucks is having to read through the eight to ten posts of flame wars to find the good arguements.

As I said in the other thread, and Temp said earlier.. People need to lighten up. It's only a game and this is only a forum.

And yes people have the right to post whatever they want and all that good stuff. But, I see no reason why it can't be done constructivly and without telling someone they are a noob because of their opinion on something.

Very very very well said Temp. Yea, there are assholes everywhere, u just gotta learn how to deal w/ it. dont stoop down to their level and dont start sayin some stupid shit like "your motha is this or that" if someone proved you wrong. i seen someone in one of tha threads say something like that. and tha whole thing about smoke being or not being cyborg and characters that are hated, dont start bitchin about it because their story, moves, or fatalities suck, if u think they suck, then dont use them or dont think about them and dont start postin up messages on why u hate them and why they suck. yea, i probably already stated tha obvious in what i wrote in this post, but whatever. & stop complainin about who or what is in tha game, just wait for it to come out and see tha results of what midway and ed boon came up with. madd props to temp. for startin up this thread though.

First things first, I do respect your opinion. This post may seem harsh, but it's actually just meant to further back-up my thoughts. Don't take offense at this.
LaTeRaLuS Wrote:

I'm a hypocrite because I'm trying to point out intolerance and immaturity on the forum without flaming or profanity? I know tone is difficult to convey over the net, but I wasn't yelling at anybody.

LaTeRaLuS Wrote:

No offense, but that attitude has not only been proven to be false in the past, but is part of the problem. It's easier to just give in to the way things are and just let the forum turn to shit. But from my experience, some people can actually be reasoned with(believe it or not). I won't flame the ignorant or the unreasonable, but I will flame arrogant dipshits if I must(not saying you're one of those people).

LaTeRaLuS Wrote:

That was kind of my original point, actually.

No. Not today. Not ever. I've been a part of this community for quite a while, and as long as I'm here, I'm going to help make this site as good as possible with the little amount of input and influence I have. All it takes for evil(in the case of this site, bullshit) to overcome is for good men to do nothing. I'm not about to watch this place get turned into a endless mess of pointles flame wars.
