Something disturbing about the Hara Kiri
Something disturbing about the Hara Kiri

Because if you look closely you can see Eramc beside Hotaru DIZZY....so does this mean that if you win you can kill opponent or kill yourself? That makes no sense to me. Check out the vid again and tell me if I'm seeing things, or is that really Ermac standing there dizzy waiting for a fatality while Hotaru kills himself?!

I also noticed this, and was going to make a thread about it. L0l, ya beat me to it TomTaz. But it does seem like you can do a hari kiri to yourself, even if you beat your opponent. Very strange indeed, and makes no sense. But blah, i guess its the victors choice to do whatever he wants.

I noticed this and already posted it awhile ago as well.
Seems everyone was wrong about who the quickest hands will be. Doesn't matter

Mabye Hotaru attacked Ermac one more time before he lost so Ermac would be distracted long enough for Hotaru to perform a Hara Kiri.
I seriuosly doubt the winner has the ability to kill himself.

Sorry I didn't notice, I wouldn't have started this if I had...I'm sorry.

If they do I think only the opponent left standing should get the victory. That could be funny though, someone goes to do a fatality, does a hari kari instead and looses the fight!
Most likely they just haven't added the coding to allow loosers finishers and have victors testing them out in the mean time.

Yeah he sure does 86 himself.I guess if you win you can kill or be killed huh.It did look pretty cool though.Long Live Johnny Cage.

Maybe the command input for a fatality and a hara kiri is almost exactly the same, so if you fail the correct sequence of buttons while trying to perform a fatality, you 'accidentaly' kill yourself? or maybe it was just still beta code they used for the vid

Yeah, it's probably just that. I 'd say that the final version will have only losers able to do it.

It could be because it's an early build but you it could be the MK's team attemp at humor. You never know.

I'm thinking they probably put little things like that in the trailers to make people think. And then people start talking and asking questions while they sit back and giggle.
Indeed. It has to be early programming. As it stands now, it makes no sense. Killing yourself if you win is ridiculous. It wouldn't be that you disable the opponent before killing yourself either. If you could disable him, then you wouldn't need to kill yourself, obviously. The most likely reason is that the Hari Kari simply acts as a third fatality in this programming, allowing you to do it after the fight is over just like any Fatality. It'll probably be changed later on to only if you lose, but if it doesn't, no big deal. Actually, it'd be nice to have the option to kill yourself even if you win, just for the sake of being odd. I'd do it. :D

Or Perhaps when you activate the correct code to do a "Hari Kari"... (I hate it when people call it that.. sigh... it's "Seppuku" but I doubt anyone here wants a samurai history lesson lol)... the other character becomes dizzy so you can do it just like they do if you win and go to do a fatality. You could just pop out of dizziness and the other guy becomes dizzy somehow while you commit suicide.

Again, I'm sorry I didn't see any other posts about this subject before posting or I wouldn't have.
