I have yet to play this game and have no idea when I'll get to. If what you've posted is anything to go by, I'll be more than impressed with one of my fave MK girls.

At least Sonya were not affected by the T Rated Fatalities.

I think they did a great job, but I prefer Sonya with a military uniform, not those T Shirts and Piercing. Deadly Alliance alternate are my favorite.

Ohhhhhh T, you are doing an excellent thing by waiting to actually play the game to be surprised before being spoiled by the awesome vids that are already available to download in youtube and practically anywhere in the net.

I waited, and I'm very very glad I did. I lived the awesome experience of watching the game on my TV with awesome sounds and graphics, and it was glorious.

And let me tell you something, despite some things I have read about a few fans being dissapointed for some reason by Raydens actions, overall, he is also one of the best characters in story mode. So wicked cool and amazing voice acting. There were a few not-Rayden things about him I guess, but nothing too bad. Sonya and Joker are a lot of fun. And only like 2 characters or maybe just 1 are really really sucky. You will see when you play. When are you planning to get a console? Can you possibly play the game at a friends house?

You are going to love Sonya.

Others that were fantastic are Joker, Jax, Rayden, etc. From the DC side I fell in love with Wonderwoman, she is amazing!! Perfectly play. Very sweet. Almost all the DC characters are perfect imo. Lex Luthor has some great expressions as well.



I actually loved that as well. The scene of Joker being so happy about his success over the very powerful tough babe was awesome to watch. His entire scene with Sonya was perfect.

Her Fatalities is something else I'm very grateful about. They rock and look awesome enough (could be much better of course, with some original effects though). As for the outfits, I LOVE the seriousness her alternate MKDA uniform gives her, but I'm in love with her amazing new design for mk vs dc the best. MKDA and MKSM tie in second. Fantastic outfits.

I love the T shirts and I wish they would had kept the MKSM piercing for this game. Adds so much sexiness. Plus, she looks very tough, sexy and with so much pressence in her t-shirt and tight pants with killer boots and decorations around her body and cloth.

I agree with you 100%. I've never had this much fun playing a MK game. I guess that's because Sonya is my favorite character and she feels like herself again. Her pro moves make me tingle with joy. I LOVE her double bicycle kick! LOVE IT! It's so fun when you can pull off a pro-move.

She looks and plays fantastic. That's my opinion! We need to play online together! My PSN name is killmyself.

Yeah, queve I absolutely love Sonya Blade in this game. I do believe this is her best appearance so far all things considered.

Sonya is one of my top 10 favorite characters and my favorite mk female, The only other female that rivals my love for Sonya is Jade, followed by Sindel. I love Kitana, Mileena, Tanya and Sareena too.

Kitana maybe a character of more significance in the mk universe (I said maybe since Sonya Blade is one of earthrealm's chosen warriors), however Sonya is and always will be the first lady of Mortal Kombat.

I thought the portrayal of Sonya was great. Serious, take charge, no bull crap. Voice acting was great too. Absolutely no complaints at all.

Favorite scene of Sonya was all the stuff with the Joker in her chapter and his. Best story stuff in the game in my opinion. The line about "Hey you don't hit like a girl" had me laughing out loud and screaming "yeah!" at my tv.

BEST line in the game bar none. It reminds me of Stryker hitting Mileena in the opening movie of mka.

Ending was one of the top 2 or 3 in the game in my opinion. Sonya is a true hero. Self sacrificing, devoted to her beliefs, and loyal to her friends. Getting a GL Corps ring I thought was fitting. A nice parallel with Hal Jordan who was an air force pilot I believe. US military too.

Disagree with Sonya looking goth though. I never want to see that. I have Sindel and Sareena for that. I do like her alt (I mostly use that one as a matter of fact). There is a hint goth with the black lipstick and that is as far as I ever want the goth look to got with Sonya. Personal preference of course.

Fatalities were very good. Some of my favortie in the game especially the neck breaker fatality. I still think her best fatality ever though was her mk4 fatality where she picked you up with her beatiful legs and ripped you in half with the multiple replays. Best ever for her.

Love Sonya's look. Functional and fairly respectable. I'm glad they ditched the trashy thong. Not dignified enough for Sonya in my opinion. I wasn't too keen on her mkda look. I didn't hate it, just didn't like it as much as her mk3 and mk4 looks.

The only thing I would like changed about her look in this game is maybe decrease the breast size a little. Trashy sex object is Mileena's gimmick. Sexy mysterious ninja is Kitana's. Slutty femme fatale is Tanya's.

Sonya's always been portrayed as sexy, but it doesn't need to be exaggerated like Ivy or Taki or some of the DOA girls. Sonya always wears functional kombat uniforms and is to be taken seriously and respected. I don't mind the tan lines though.

I would like Sonya to get a regular bicycle kick to complete her offensive arsenal. It shouldn't be a problem if the mk team sticks to their guns and leaves Liu Kang dead and in the grave for mk9 where he belongs.

Sonya is just so bad ass in this game. I use her more than I use Scorpion. I have always been a Sub and Scorp player primarily. I think Sub is my favorite in this game, but damn if I don't like Sonya more than Scorpion.

I was quite impressed with her portrayal. I think they pretty much nailed everything. Take charge attitude coupled with just the right amount of femininity. Sonya is actually a babe again!

This is easily Sonya's best look and her alt is cool with the dark lipstick and green top, I pick the alt more often than reg. Her portrayal in this game is my ideal. I honestly have no complaints, only praises.

I like her kicking moves. I suck with her, but this is why I use Raiden.

I couldn't watch the videos on Youtube before palying the game. That'd just bug me lol. Waiting is the best option. None of my friends are MK fans so I won't get to play the game until I can afford to buy a PS3 or 360. Given current events, that's probably not going to be for some time.
I expect not not be fully impressed with Raiden ever since they did what they did with him in MKD and MKA. I have expected there to be some bits concerning him that I'll dislike. It's to be expected.

Hey!! Its so nice to see you around as well! I’ve been gone because I’ve been extremely busy with college, and ever since I got on break I’ve been playing with my PS3 and I have been without internet.

I can’t believe I’m still not bored with this game. While I loved certain things of MKD and MKA, I got bored quickly after a while. But this game, I just can’t stop playing it. Its incredibly fun!

I use many many characters, and I’m more then happy Sonya is one of the most fun to play with. Her special moves are wicked cool and so satisfying to do. I truly love her new air bicycle kicks move, it makes you feel proud once its done. It’s so much fun.

Pro moves were a very good idea for this game, I truly enjoy them and I even enjoy how difficult they are most of the time.

I sadly don’t have online yet, and I have no idea when I will be able to afford it. College takes a lot of my time, so I don’t think I will be getting online play for a year or so. :( Still, thanks for the username, and when I get it I will let you know (hopefully people will still be playing the game).

Yep. I felt proud seeing her with that great attitude. I love the feminist symbol she sort of represents in the game. None of the other females were seen so powerful. But I have to say Catwoman was truly a JOY to watch. The voice acting and personality were soooooo awesome. It sucks she didn’t get more screen time because I think she would had been amazing. Her comment on the security of the MK warriors being as pathetic as the Gotham museum was simply HILARIOUS. I loved Catwoman. And I was immensely surprised with Wonderwoman. She was so sweet and serious in the game that I actually enjoyed her portrayal. When she talks to Kitana and specially when she addresses to Scorpion, its very cool.

Her Kiss was very well improved, I loved the close up to her face and the fiery heart with the trail. And the neck breaker was orgasmic. When I first saw it on the Fatality Friday thing, I was sooooo pleased to see her trademark MK4 bone breaker return like that. One thing though, as much as I love it, I do wish it looked as awesome as it does in MK4. The camera should had focused more of her legs in the air for a few more seconds. I would had loved to see different shots from more air angles and maybe even a 3 times break like you see in MK4. That was fantastic. Still, brilliant Fatality. It was such a good idea to bring that back.



LOL. I love the huge (_____)(_____). They made Sonya extremely sexy in this game. And that’s not even counting her shirt being ripped off. Also, I honestly missed the thong. While I do love the tanned lines, I wish the thong was there. It quickly became a very good trademark of hers, and the MKSM piercing was a fantastic classy addition that should be brought back. Something I kind of miss are her earrings. They looked cool.



Hmmmmmm, that would be too risky. I don’t think she needs it because her own set of moves are already super awesome, and as amazing as the bicycle kick is, its Liu Kangs and Liu Kangs alone. Her own style is much better anyways. She doesn’t need it (but I do love it), and I feel it would be a very cheap and annoying thing to do.

Well said! I love the alt as well. And its cool because its actually one of the few that look very different. Most of the alts for the characters almost look exactly the same in color, almost no color change at all.

queve I only bring up the possibility of Sonya getting the horizontal bicycle kick if and only if Liu Kang stays dead in future mk games (which is my #1 request for mk9). My fault if I didn't properly express my intent.

If he is dead, no way you're going to let an awesome move like that not be included in the game. It would make sense to give it to Sonya since she has the vertical bike kick and if Liu Kang is dead, Sonya chooses to use it to honor a fallen comrade and friend.

All this only makes sense if Liu Kang stays dead of course. Otherwise let him keep the thing.

Wasn't too hot on the mksm looks when compared to mk4 and mk3. I think I liked it better than mkda. Maybe. It was still good though.

I know you had to also enjoy Sonya getting some payback on Baraka for mksm in her story chapter. I thought that was a particularly nice touch by the mk team. Thanks for that guys. Sonya is one of the few characters in mk to never have a bad look.

I think her upward vertical bicycle kick has way too massive of a range though - I hope that gets fixed. She can be quite a ways from you and suddently the game moves your body closer to make the animation work.

Take Taki in Soul Calibur 4. I have liked her since Soul Blade on the ps 1. In part 4 her tits are huge though. They look painful. I wouldn't be surprised if she had a tumor in there and she didn't know it.

In response to JayboH, I don't think her look in the first one was lame. It is essentially what she has worn in every game just with different variations. Tight long pants, with the half spandex top.

The colors on it changed in mk3 and in mk4 they changed the colors again and added a baseball cap.

MK vs dc it is the same style of top but they added arm pads and made them basic army combat pants. Same basic look.

I think that this is her best look so far, I do like the alt better though. I wish the shirt was green instead of white on the primary.

Thematically it is the same. It isn't exactly the same, you are right about that. Her various looks haven't radically been altered like say Shang or Sub Zero or Reptile during their various appearances.

In MK1, she wears this. In this game she wears a t-shirt and tight pants.
