ok, so you've heard about these 6 realms from the playstation.com article. now the point of this thread is to have a crack at what these realms might be (they could be very obvious). now, here is my guess at what they could be:

Earthrealm:

Obviously, this is would be the first realm that your monk would train in. Expect a Chinese-influenced theme for this realm.

Outworld:

Another obvious choice, this would be the second realm. Expect a run-down, ugly kind of place.

Edenia:

Home of Kitana, Sindel, Jade, Tanya and Rain. Probably a exotic and magnificant place.

Zaterria:

Reptile's home, which is now a wasteland. A large scale swamp.

Unknown Vampire Realm:

This is where the vampires hide at the daytime, waiting until the sun goes down so they can feast on the Earthrealmer's blood. Probably like Transilvania, but with more of an Eastern influence.

5th Plane of the Netherealm:

The last realm, which is a section of Hell. Onis such as Drahmin and Moloch tourment those who become stuck in this forbidden place. Fire and brimstone are plenty.

So there you have it. That's my guess at what the realms could be. If you want to expand on what I've stated, be my guest. If anyone else has any different ideas on which realms they could be, I'd like to hear them.
