Well, not sure how many people here have chatted about the actual facts from the boon/Xbox UK interview. Obviously we can't read the "whole" article however I've only told a few people on here so far but in one of the scans I managed to zoom in even more and read something boon said.

Boon said
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
that each character will have 6 specials, this I'm sure you guys know already however he also states that dial ups are no more. Here's the really interesting part. There will be no more "type a command combos(which are dial ups) and that we'll have more stun moves(specials obviously) and be able to create our own combos. This should excite "dial up haters" personally since MK has never done this before, I think it's rather interesting

Reason why I put it in spoilers is because I don't know who knows and who doesn't here.

I'm looking forward to it, your thoughts.

This belongs in the MK vs. DC forum and not the Xbox Live forum since it has to do with aspects of the future MK vs. DC video game.

YES!

It's over. Dial-a-combos are finally done with. I'm happy with this.
Good, the fighting needs to be more fluid instead of stiff like the other MK games.

finally! I liked dial-ups but it's nice to be able to make your own combo

Yay!!!

I loved the classic style, but really, after so much of the same system, it gets boring. Finally something new gameplay wise! Many MANY MANY fans already hated the "dial-up" thing, its nice to see it gone, at last! Like I said, it was good...but it had to be gone after the amazing MKDA.

Dial-a-combos were flawed gameplay wise too, since one unblocked hit and you eat the whole thing.

One a lighter note, as well as the triumphant end of of dial-a-combos, the article revealed that characters would have exactly 6 special moves. So, all characters will have the same number of specials for a change. Perhaps including a single throw like DA/Deception/Armageddon (but I hope not).

So, we have Scorpion, Subs, Sonya, Flash, Batman, and Superman so far.

Here's my wishlist:

SUB-ZERO:

Freezeball - obvious.

Slide kick - I say it's more likely than the cold shoulder as it is a classic, iconic move for Subs.

Ice Slide - (The MK2 move) I'm sure it'll be back.

Ice Shower (close) - (MK3) This was a cool move.

Ice Shower (far) - Ditto.

Hmmm, thinking of a sixth is difficult. I'd say his Freeze Aura move from DA, although it'd be better if we got a new move.

SCORPION:

Bloody Spear - It IS Scorpion.

Get Down Here! - Scorpion fires his spear at an aerial enemy.

Backflip Kick/variant - It'll be back. It's too much cool

Teleport Punch - Already confirmed and you can see it's different from in Armageddon. It appears to be the classic uppercut after an after image teleport. Much cooler than before.

Toasty! - I hope this will be there. I'm sure it will. Whether an MK1 missile, or hopefully an MK4 fireblast, I think that in removing the fatalities, this will appear instead as a special.

Double slash - Scorpion performs his MK2 Fatality as an attack.

BATMAN:

Batarang - Projectile.

Grapple Kick - Batman fires a grapple gun to a wall behind the enemy and then pulls himself at them in a flying kick.

Bat Bolas - a low projectile that ensnares the opponent's feet and plants them on the ground.

Tackle Dash - Batman runs at opponent, tackles them to the ground and elbows them in the face repeatedly. UFC style.

Hidden Attack - Batman whirls his cape over the opponent's head and then sends them flying with a massive backhand. Close range powerful hand to hand special

Smoke Bomb - A stunning move.

SUPERMAN:

Heat Vision - Confirmed (Sweeps side to side)

Heat Vision High - (Sweeps up and down)

Freeze Breath - Confirmed

Flying Attack - some sort of attack similar to Raiden

Aerial Punch - Superman does an uppercut and flys up into the air with the opponent on his fist and them slams them to the ground.

Planet Bomber - Superman flys into the air and comes down in a punch/elbow of enormous force. The ground cracks and the opponent is launched for a pop-up combo. Unblockable. Has to be avoided.

THE FLASH

Flash Dash - Confirmed (Like Kabal's)

Reverse Dash - Goes off one side of the screen and dashes on the other. You have to turn to block it.

Invisibility - Flash vibrates invisible.

Wind Fists - Flash punches air extremely fast building up a blast of air that forces the opponent back, ripping their clothes in the process. If you block, it stuns you briefly.

Speed Force - Flash concentrates and steals the velocity from the opponent. The opponent is slowed down to 1/2 speed for 5 seconds. Slow to activate.

Tornado Spin - Flash spins super fast. Pulling the opponent inwards.

SONYA:

Ring Toss - Confirmed

Ring Toss 2 - at a low height

Leg Grab - You Know.

Air Leg Grab - Sonya jumps and flips grabbing aerial opponent with legs and delivering a slam.

Kiss - Sonya blows pink powder into the opponent eyes. Blinding and stunning.

Square Wave Punch - Sonya's air attack.

It's pretty hard to think of 6 specials for every character. Not all characters warrant that many moves.

Also, the article revealed something like the ability to build up combos of the special moves, but I'm not sure what they meant by that, since you could already do that.

Cool list!

You forgot Sonya's Vertical Bicycle kicks, those would rock in this game! She is actually one of the few with a large amount of special moves, and she had 6 in MK4!

I can just imagine the special moves Poison Ivy would have if she was to be in this game.....Awesome+sexy!

Yeah, well the dial ups worked well in UMK3 and MK4...mainly UMK3 though lol, in the 3D games you could parry in between the dial ups which I didn't like honeslty in MKA and the thing about dial ups in a 3D form is that it limits combos in a way.

Of course you can still make up your own "dial up combos combined with special moves" combos like Check has, I have and so many other high level MK players have but with this new option, it'll make things more interesting

I can see it now, people will be trying to make up the highlest damage combos. I do hope however with a system like this it's limited in it's own way. The one very good thing about dial ups is that there's a limit after a while.

We'll see how it plays out but I'm excited none the lessglasses

That's pretty good news. I'm hoping that the fighting system is much smoother. 6 specials sounds weird tho

I hope that there will be no way you can do infinity combos in this game.Cause I mean as cool as it is to do those against the computer, its not cool to do it against actual players online unless their gonna give you unlimited combo breakers but that would ruin the entire system altogether.

I hope there is a limit to just about 8 hits for any combo cause anymore then that ruins it for me.

On another topic,I never did like infinity combos cause it never gives the other person a fair chance and the game starts not to be fun anymore.

Ok, good news. But let's hope they get it right. The "dial-a-combos" might be out but it'll only turn out well if the "user created combos" are done through proper frame advantage. I don't want to see Boon toting "no more dial-a-combos" when all he ends up delivering is a form of the "create-a-fatality" from MKA where now there are just more possibilities to link in the same guaranteed-after-first-hit string.

The "stun" moves thing also kind of worries me. We all remember what kind of shenanigans happened thanks to Dairou's tombstone drop. There has to be a give and take with any move. If it stuns (not on counter hit, no less) then it needs to have massive frame disadvantage and should be pretty slow.

I would expect more "stun moves" to be something other than free-hit specials.

I believe before we even knew about MK Vs DC, Boon stated that the in the next MK game they will be scraping the old fighting engine. I thought everybody already knew that we were going to get something new for the next MK.=/

Doesn't mean they can't rehash old ideas. One reviewer even stated some movements looked like they were lifted straight out of deception (but of course it could still change)
