I personally dont think that weapons that you pick up in the stages are a bad idea.

Anyone wanna share their thoughts...

wow, no one must care about weapon pick ups
I like the idea.

I really like how you could do it in MK4.

Yah i hope so too, because in Mk4 if u lost ur weapon then it was so hard to pick it back up without getting hit. As for the weapons in Mk:D, it sounds great, just another little thing that makes this the best game ever grin

I think stage weapons are a good addition cuz it adds more realism to the game and its cool to have. Plus its cheap and it makes the game betta.

Meh, I have mixed feelings about his. I like the uniqueness of each individuel character. I have a feeling we might lose that with weapon availabilty.

I think stage weapons should be easy to pick up, and powerful, but also easily knocked out, mainly because I feel somewhat like you do, it's cool for players to use other weapons, but you don't want every player "running" to these weapons as an easy way to win a match, and thus indivduality is lost. I also hope for a wide variety of weapons, and not all swords.

Dude....people usually need more than FIVE minutes to respond to a new topic...if you can't wait more than 5 minutes for a reply without getting upset, you need to find something better to do with your time.

But in resposne to this topic, I think weapons on the level are a great idea, just not on EVERY level...there needs to be some arenas that are interactive, but only in terms of columns and interactive objects rather than just weapons.

I think stage weapons wouldn't hurt, as long as they don't stand out and distract me while I'm playing MK:D.

It would be sweet if you could hold your own weapon(if your character only has one weapon, unlike Mavado) and pick up the special weapons off the ground. You could dual weapon it!

Your combo strings would change accordingly, that would be great

That dual-weild wouldn't work unless they're dual weapons. Because each stage weapon will have its own fighting style.

And guys, The stage weapons aren't going to be the easiest things to get to. They're going to require a little patience, Or luck. Maybe better not to try and get them at all, But rather hope you stumble next to one during the fight.

Though all in all, I'm excited about them.

The Stage Weapons sound very good with their current implementation.

Remember, you're locked in to using that weapon when you get your hands on it. If you switch styles it's gone.

* I'm not sure if the weapon falls to the ground where it was dropped and it can be immediately picked back up... OR... if it falls to the ground and then disappears and a certain amount of time goes by until it reappears back in the green highlighted area?

I think I'm willing to forsake realism for better gameplay dynamics in this case.

I have mixed feelings also. The idea sounds pretty cool, but I'm not a fan of 'big' weaponry, like axes...

Spears and special swords would be nice to pick up...

I'm not sure whether these are in it- i think "set pieces" are, but not weapons that you pick up and use repeatedly in a "style". I wonder if you can kick the bodies hanging on chains into the other person- that would be pretty sweet.

it is not really new, like most people knew, it was introduced in MK4, just hope that they will be easy to pick-up and special in some way.

I agree with you guys. Individuality is lost cuz of these stage weapons but they are a good addition. Its kindofa win/lose situation.

The only problem the stage weapons will represent is that some cheap players will make every effort to whore them. When you play online, you'll probably have at least 4 or 5 matches a day where some idiot just goes straight for the arena weapon. Though, if the weapon is near a death trap you should have a nice, easy victory...

Well, right now it's really cheap and I hope they fix it...the Hammer in the Sky Temple stage does 3 hits - 75% damage!

I was afraid of that. sad I pray to God that they balance that out before the release.

I think the best implementation would be to make stage weapons optional in one of the menus. That way, if you like being cheap against the AI, go for it. If you're playing against friends, turn it off unless they want to use them.

What I'm really interested in is whether or not some of the stage weapons will have the impale ability, making it possible to impale your opponent with multiple weapons.

That's a great idea, I hadn't thought about that. I'm sure there will be an option to turn them off...some fighting game that came out on PSX a few years back...Cardinal Syn I think it was called...had some level based weapons and hazards that could be toggled at the menu...I don't see why MKD couldn't do the same thing. Same for Death Traps, though somehow I think i'd like to keep those going all the time...
