NOW I HATED mk4 but, some of the characters i liked.....like reiko,kai...also fujin...

MK4 was an obvious rush job, maybe that's why the characters aren't in high demand. I do think Fujin has potential, and Quan Chi certainly put on a good show. I didn't like him as much in MKDA

I think rayden should be killed by the eldergods for abandoning them and then they should send in fujin to replace him. Kai should come back as a pupil of fujin or nightwolf i'm sure either scenario would work.

I would love to see Reiko return, kai would be kinda cool as well but Reiko would be great. I dunno why MK4 takes so much Flak, i thought it was a great fighter, much better then #3 which by far is the worst in the series hands down, I played Killer Instinct for an extra year just to avoid mk3

I totaly agree with u mk4 was a great fighter and had some of the best moves and fatalities.

They arent talked about because these are the modern palate swaps who ripped-off others moves.
Jarek=Kano
Tanya=Sonya (even their names sound the same....LAME)
Reiko= well nobody sucked like he did except for striker
Fujin= He is the only cool one but he kinda ripped off Raiden
Shinnok= Was the Shang tsung of MK4. Cool concept but he ripped off others moves.

Shinnok and Fujin are the only ones worth talkin about but Shinnok is dead i think and Fujin is replaced by the much better raiden

Out of all those, i just want fujin to return. I kicked serious ass with him back in the mk4 days, and he has good potential. Hes the guardian of earthrealm, so he should be playing a bigger role now.

Tanya, Shinnok and Reiko shouldn't be in the new game because they just didn't go anywhere. The only reason anyone even remembers Reiko is because of his EUROCOM(NOT MIDWAY) ending.

Kai and Fujin were both set up to be important characters, and I think both have a lot of potential if given the right place. Someone on this site suggested that Fujin and Raiden could go rogue when they become fed up with the Elder Gods' apathy, and I think that that is perhaps one of the better ideas for a storyline I heard on these boards. He would be the Kung Lao of the Gods. The "alternate" hero for those who aren't fans of Raiden. Kai could be utilized in the same way. With Kung Lao's stepping up to fill the role of Main Good Guy, Kai would be the perfect character to step up and take his place.

As for Jarek, I'm split. Though his moves and origins were essentially a Kano rip-off, he acts as the Aussie's balancing opposite. Kano is the Black Dragon leader who would rather fight and live than fight and possibly die doing what's right. Jarek however, chooses to go against all odds and show that a man can be redeemed. He chooses to defy his master and fight for his home, despite having his own allies wanting to imprison or kill him. He could develop into an amazing character if given his own moveset and allowed to show a little more of his own personality.

Agreed. Fujin was the shining light of MK4.

What about kai he was cool (i know its probobly getting old about how i like kai and all i just want to hear what u think)

I didnt like MK4. I never played it much, and thats why I dont favor the characters. Quan Chi is real good, but all the others I dont know anything about. MK3 is a different story. BRING BACK SINDEL!

I dont get it if they have released her existence to the public than why dont they go ahead and tell the public a bit more avout her character. A little on a possible storyline a motive or for heavens sake just one measly screen shot will do especialy if we already know she will be in the game i mean come on here people.

A.) They probably haven't rendered her yet

B.) They've already given us way more info than they should have by now.

C.) She's not the most popular returning character, ya know.

I think Fujin and Kai have some potential, but only if they are given better looks. I hated the way Fujin looked, and Kai just seemed a little plain to me.

In review:

Tanya only exists because time constraints prevented Kitana and Mileena from being in the game. I dislike her for that.

Reiko replaced Noob because the game had to many returning characters. I would have prefered Noob.

Fujin's moves were too similar to Kung Lao's.

Jarek was a complete, total clone of Kano. This really annoyed Kano's fans.

Shinnok had Shang Tsungs' abilities without the visually appealing morphing. I found him disappointing. In fact, I found him silly when he mimicked Sonya's handstand.

Kai was simply unimpressive. His handstand attacks were impotent.

I think these characters are unpopular for good reasons. MK4 was a big disappointment.

I don't think se was 100% unique, however she was still kick ass. He ending rocked and she was kool. I really wanna see her and Sheeva (mk3) back.

Tanya is the yellow female ninja! It would be great for her to come back! She is supposedly in the next MK movie. I wouldn't see why she wouldn't be put in the game.

Fujin - A great character all around, Looked great and had great moves.

Jarek - I liked Jarek better then Kano. I like Kano, I just liked Jarek better.

Kai - Looked great, Very promising. But his corny moves turned me away.

Reiko - Costume wasn't original, But wasn't really a copy either. His moves were great.

Shinnok - 100x better then Shang Tsung, And looked incredible.

Tanya - Very original to me, Just didn't like her costume for the same reason as Reiko.

I'd like to see all of them return with a few touch-ups.

Fujin - An interesting character that'll probably be seen again in a future MK. His MK4 moves were alot like a crossbred between Kung Lao and Ermac though. Crossbow would be an interesting weapon stance if it could be done without being cheap.

Jarek - 100% clone of Kano. They could have at least not given him the eye laser fatality, considering he doesn't have a metal eye. Who thought that was a good idea?

Kai - Had orginal but just not very useful moves IMO. Other classic character would be better suited for a return than him.

Reiko - Might as well been the 8th palette swap ninja unmasked, looking at his outfit and moves. A half-assed attempt by Midway to turn an incomplete Noob Saibot into a "new" character. Could have at least lost the ninja outift, looks just like Sub's with a logo on back. Boon and the rest of the current MK team seem content to forget he ever existed.

Shinnok - Shang Tsung without the memory gobbling shape-changing. Might make an interesting character since the current consoles won't allow Shang to morph, but he is pretty well hated by alot of fans, so I don't we'll be seeing him anytime soon.

Tanya - Just another female palette-swap ninja. Her backstabbing storyline was interesting to me, but her moves were generic and bland. Now that she's an exposed traitor there's not much left for her plot-wise either.

Aside from Quan Chi and Fujin I just don't see any of the MK4 cast worth bringing back. I'd like Shinnok just so we could have a "mimic" player, but that's only because the current consoles can't have Tsung do his morphing.
