This is what I think:

It is after MK1 and be4 and a lil during MK2

Sooooooooo Scorpion killed tte original Sub, and the brother shows up(btw whoever heard that they dont show sub dying I am pretty sure the original subs death is shown)

I think it is after the big battle so like some1 else said shang is pissed and starts a battle......then needs help and calls goro out, but i am pretty sure that it happened after Liu defeated them cause the tartakans come out and that is def after Liu won the first tournament....

And I think Scorpion just thought Sub was back so he started fighting sub. he only atacked Kung Lao once he never went after any1 else....still does not explain why he jumped in the portal though. It seems like he was working for Shang but in the long run I doubt it....

But hey. If it was perfect hardcorers would still find something wrong with it....thats how it goes. I am pretty sure they will stay with the storyline pretty well.......we will just have to wait and see. But right now I am impressed...It is gonna be hard to knock off God of War in that genre for me...but lets see.

Younger-Bro Sub-Zero doesn't get scarred until AFTER MK2. So all you guys looking for scars to tell them apart, don't bother.

I figured since you didn't see subs death and
Spoilers: (Highlight to reveal)
sub and scorpion are playable characters, you probably play as younger sub since his brother gets killed. And probably face sub in scorpions as a boss where you kill him. Since it was mentioned sub is killed off screen you probably see it when you play as scorpion.

I just wish they had shown at least 1 special move for Sonya. Her LEG GRAB or the RING TOSS, or even the KISS. Kind of sucks, it would had looked awesome.

But we cant have everything we want.

Yeah Sonya doing her Leg Grab would've been great to see in the intro.

Definitely. I mentioned that in my post on page 2. She could've taken Kano down with that instead of the kick she used.

Btw - It's nice to see you still here, dude! smile

Is it just me, but after watching that do you just wish so badly that Midway made Mortal Kombat a CGI movie? I think that would kick ass.
