The alliance of Sonya and Kano?

I've been on this web site for some time now and i've heard many times that the whole Outworld Investigation Agency is get stale. In Deadly Alliance it was destroyed by Hsu Hao so that could be a stepping stone for a possible storyline for Kano and Sonya to finaly put aside their grudge and work together for once.

Jax tracked Hsu Hao down and killed him, from there I think Jax assembled a troop and marched into the Outworld to find the Red Dragon's location.

Kano could have been defeated by Mavado and would be brought back to the Red Dragon's base to be executed in front of every member. Kano could have been tortured during his time he was under captivity by the Red Dragon.

Jax could have caught up with the Red Dragon and launched an attack on their base. Kano could have used this time to escape the Red Dragon's clutches and into the Outworld. Jax and Mavado could have had a classic battle to the death and Mavado could have emerged victorious.

Sonya could have tracked Jax's location and would arrive at the abandoned Red Dragon base only to find that her partner was killed. Kano carried around a lock of Sonya's hair from his battle with her in Mortal Kombat 3. That lock of hair could have been held by Jax before he died. Sonya could have thought that is was Kano who once again killed another one of her trusted partners so she goes off on his trail to catch up with him.

Kano could have fell unconcious in the wastelands of the Outworld and would awaken in Sonya's custody for questioning. However Sonya is now alone on her mission to protect the Earth from the Red Dragon's invasion and would have reasoning with Kano. They would agree that their biggest problem is the Red Dragon. For it is Mavado who is after Kano, and it's Sonya who is after Mavado. This could all come crashing down in Deception and Kano would travel as a prisoner with Sonya but the two would actually have to work together to make any progress.

What do you think? Is it a good idea for the two to team up, or is it better if they continue their grudge against each other?

I really like it! It would add such a cool twist to their story!

Its interesting, it would also be cool to see Sonya SAVE Kano in battle, and a deadly bond to be formed.

I like your idea, but I don't think it would really work. Look at Sonya's MK4 ending. She and Jarek fought on the same side against Shinnok, but in the end Jarek wanted to go back to his life of crime, while Sonya wanted to take him into custody. And I think Kano is more ruthless and treacherous than Jarek was, so Sonya would most likely be too smart to trust Kano.

Interesting idea. Their alliance was suggested in a thread by someone else. It could work, but I don't want Mavado to be killed. I think it's time Kano died.

You are right, but their alliance was not really noticed in MK4, it was like it never happened. Maybe in Deception they could go deeper into this.

Well um...if they come back...I think they should have something like that...but then again, I don't really want to see Kano be in the game..

Love hate? wow LOL, I just cant imagine Sonya falling for that rat. BUt hey, anytyhing could happen!

I like this "alliance" idea too, it’s interesting. There should be something that both of them need, but alone, none can do anything. That will keep both of them from killing eachother for a long time.

Till the end of course, where Kano tries to kill Sonya but she blows him a good-bye kiss. wink

It's not a bad idea. I personally think Kano is still alive. Mavado didn't kill Kenshi like it said in his ending. Maybe that could mean the return of Kano, and also Kabal (I personally hope we don't see Kabal return). Maybe the Red Dragon like leaving their enemies on the brink of death to fear it. and to realise that the Red Dragon are superior?

The only way Kano is gonna die is of old age....He's way too cunning and resourceful to go any other way!

not sure about the Sonya/Kano alliance though.....

I think this would make Kano look interesting. He is one of my fave characters, but ever since Mavado, I like him less.

So, yeah, I like the idea. It could also imrpove Sonjas story. But she has no problem, since she is by far one of the best mk characters.

I think it works , I mean Sonya and Kano have been through alot together, you know with their introduction to the first Mortal Komabt and being captured and strapped together next to shao khan in MK2 then escaping, having their big showdown in MK3.
They are practically like Family and although its not Sonya’s nature to trust anybody around her, I think Kano seems more like an obsession with her rather than a just a foe.
They could do a Hannibal/Clarice starling scenario. Who knows maybe something might come of it????
