with the release of MKA nearing in 72 days as of this moment that i post this, i thaught it would be cool to make my first MKO game, im nearing 1000 visits and its about time.
this is how it works, i name the first character, and you name a fighting style and tell me why it suits him and why it would improve that character and the way they play, then you name the next character, i know, it sounds retarted but id like it at least to reach 2 pages, LOL
ok here we go....*whipes sweat from forhead*
BLAZE

Liu Shing Chuan (Meteor Fist/Shooting Star Fist) is my choice for Blaze.
This is an advanced internal Chinese martial art that uses attacks that can be described as "raining meteors". It has explosive power in its techniques due to the strength conditioning methods and combines Chi and outer muscular power into its techniques. Xing Yi Quan, Ba Gua Zhang, and Tai Chi Chuan are prerequisite styles needed to be learned before learning Meteor Fist due to its level of difficulty and the fact that it combines Chi and other muscular power to do the techniques. In terms of techniques, Liu Shing Chuan is said to be similar to styles such as Mei Hua Quan (Moi Fah Kuen) and Hung Gar Kuen (Hongjiaquan).
Overall, there isn't much known about this rare martial art. I think it suits Blaze, because he's a boss character and for him to use a style with explosive power sounds fitting. Also, because of the name Meteor Fist, I found it fitting for him as meteors are hot and fiery and so is Blaze. I know that sounds a bit cheesy, but I'll just shrug on it. *shrugs*
Anyway, I'm going to say Onaga as the next character.

I'm going to with Baji Quan (Eight Extremities Fist), a Northern Chinese martial art that specializes more in the close-range and uses more linear techniques with explosive power. It is similar to Xing Yi Quan in that they are both internal Northern Chinese martial arts styles that are more linear and look external and dynamic when they are really more of internal styles that use explosive power due to the use of proper body mechanics, using the body behind the techniques. It attacks with the various parts of the body such as head, shoulders, elbows, hands, hips, back, knees, and feet, though it likes to use a lot of elbow attacks.
Characters like Akira from the Virtua Fighter series and Kokoro from DOA 4 use Bajiquan though in those games, it is called Hakkyokuken.
My reasoning for Reiko to use this style is because of his appearance, giving me more of that power-player type feel. Also, he's some kind of general, and Baji Quan is a martial art that was used by various soldiers and generals.
Anyway, next character will be Shinnok.

shinnok - pao chui.. i like this style for shinnok because of the stances and the attacks that it incorporates.. it uses alot of swinging motions and is aesthetically graceful.. which are elements of an art that i believe a character like shinnok would practice..i think the designers hit the nail on the head by giving shinnok this style in mk:a..
next: kano.. xing yi and aikido are respectable in their own right.. but not for kano..

please dont make suggestions, you said shinnok is good with his style, if somebody wants to say the same for kano, please do not influence them.
The character is KANO people, what should his style be?

i like dragon for sub-zero.. the style fits him well and the "claw" techniques of dragon style are extremely effective, both defensively and offensively.. again a job well done by the designers..
ps: my bad for the suggestion i was just stating why i felt kano's styles should be improved, not trying to sway anyone elese..

Yeah, I know how you feel on that. I agree with Dragon going to Sub-Zero and Kano not having Xing Yi and Aikido.
Anyway, since the current character is Sheeva, I'm going to say Kuatan. It's the style she has in the E3 demo, and it's fine for her. There's not much for me to say.
The next character will be Motaro.

0
my views on motaro is that he should a style that totaly eliminates kicks and knee strikes.. he's going to have any attack where he will strike with his hooves, make it a special.. as for his fighting style, maybe some sort of a boxing technique.. i think that's about all that would fit him other than a made up art..
next is kabal..
next is kabal..

Motaro... I think he'd be best with a made up style. Centaurian. It would mostly be powerful hits with his arms, and powerful kicks with his legs (Which is all he could do before). I don't see him with many combos besides punch, punch.
Next Character: Cyrax.

Since you didn't name another character, I'm going to give my views on Cyrax.
I think he should use Combat Sambo, a relatively modern martial art created by the Russians. It is one of the 3 styles of Sambo (the other two being Sport Sambo and Self-Defense Sambo).
Sambo is an acronym for SAMozashchita Bez Oruzhiya, which means "self-defense without weapons" or "self-defense without a weapon".
It is derived from many styles like Judo, Jujutsu, various European Wrestling styles, Boxing, etc. with
Combat Sambo is developed for the military and uses all sorts of techniques and even trains with weapons.
Cyrax d/led the knowledge of this style before going to hunt down Sub-Zero. Since he is part of the Special Forces, a military type group, it'd be fitting for him to use a military type martial art like this.
Also, I don't want to see him with "Ninjitsu".
Anyway, next character is Smoke.

I'm going with his wrath hammer as it has been his signature weapon for so long and I think it suits him great. When I think of a hammer, I think of power, and Shao Kahn has always struck me as someone who is overly powerful.
I'm gonna go with Dairou

Agreed, though that is not a good translation.
Russian: Oruzhiya, Slovak: Orušia, Czech: Orušia, ...it means meddling or
interruption. All are north-slavik languages in which I am proficient iin Slovak at least
The proper translation would be "self-defending without interruption".

Red Dragon - I think he should have a fighting style specially made for his clan. This fictional style should incorporate some power, but a lot of speed.

I think Jade should use Fu Jow Pai, the Black Tiger style of Kung Fu. The stance resembles her MKT stance and Black Tiger seems like more of a linear style to me and I see Jade being a more aggressive, linear fighter. I also like how Fu Jow Pai seems fast and Jade was rather slow in MKD so for her to have Fu Jow Pai would be great, imo.
To Chrome: lol...thanks for the heads up on that...
Anyway, next character will be Sindel.
