well i actually think that the deception might come either from reptile or from baraka which might be back to serve his fallen emperor shao kahn, and well i know there are many ideas around but kai is on the white lotus society which jung lao is in as well, so it may have some sense to see him return to help avenge his sifu, jarek could return but just as an ass licking pig for mavado

Well, there is always room for Fujin. Everything about him seemed original to me.

I can't say good things about these characters. Tanya only exists because time constraints prevented Kitana and Mileena from being in MK4; I hate that. Reiko replaced Noob Saibot because Boon thought there were not enough new characters in MK4; I would have prefered Noob. IMHO, Fujin's moves were too similar to Kung Lao's. Jarek was a cheap Kano clone; I'm sure Kano fans weren't happy about that! Kai's special moves never impressed me and Shinnok was Shang Tsung without the morphing. I don't find any of these characters interesting enough to want them back.

Queve, who do you think (or know) is going to be back from MK4? Just curious.

As for the MK4 cast:

Tanya: I think most people agree on her. She's a cheap Kitana rip off. Ditch her.

Fujin: I agree with the people that have stated that he has a lot of potential. Maybe update the look a little. Bring back.

Reiko: I disliked this guy from the very beginning. Although I like the decoy of Shao Khan idea, the fact that he looked exactly like Johnny Cage only with eye stripes was bizarre since their pictures were right next to one another on the select screen. His story was plain and uninspired, so was his clothing, so no thanks. Ditch him.

Kai: Eh, he's got potential. I liked the handstand idea, though it did look a tad bit silly. I thought about saying give him a new look and ally him with Kung Lao and he could work, but I was honestly never that interested in that character. They'd have to change him alot to make me like him. So I'll say Ditch him for now.

Jarek: Man, what was the MK team thinking?? Put a red eye on him and he's Kano. This was arguably the shadiest character design. Sure the palette swap ninjas only have different moves, but that's fine with me because, well, they have different moves! They go through all the trouble of making Jarek look unique, only to give him the exact same moves as Kano. Made zero sense to me. Update his look, and give him NEW and UNIQUE moves and he could fit into the Black Dragon/Red Dragon storyline. Keep him.

Shinnok: Now this is a character that I would LOVE to see back. Yes, he looked like an evil bellhop or shriner. Yes he was Shang Tsung without the morphing. But I'd like him back for these reasons: A) He's an elder god. B) He looked really cool in the second MK movie and C) He's a major player like Shao Khan, The Dragon King etc. I think that his story could be very good. He just needs a new look similar to the black hood he had in the second movie. I say the more big name players the better. On one side you have Shang and Quan, then the DK, then Baraka and Mileena, then Shinnok comes back. I'd like it alot.

I wouldn't mind seeing some of the MK 4 characters come back. I didn't like MK 4 as a whole but some of the characters were decent. Quan Chi was the only GREAT thing to come out of MK 4 in my opinion. I wouldn't mind seeing Fujin or Kai coming back.

I think MK4 needs to be forgotten by everyone. That game was hopeless. My Grandma could make something better than that steamy pile.

I do not want to see any of those characters come back, they had no potential nor will they ever.
