the ten mk1 chars+kitana from MK2 and maybe Kung Lao or mileena

jax is not iconic,nobody knows him outside the mk fanbase.

I know it sucks, Cage is my favourite too.

But knowing Midway, this was done intentionally to include fan-favourites such as Kung Lao, Cage, Mileena and Reptile + others in MK VS DCU 2.

Why not throw out kano? I agree that cage is an iconic character but I strongly disagree that baraka should be left out. Why? Because he is my favorite character .

1)Midway had a hard time but now is rising again
2)midway won't fail fi Mk vs dcu don't sell well
3)we're goingt o have MK9 in both cases

I have to disagree because, it seems really odd that they would leave out a character as iconic as Cage in their very first crossover. Secondly, it would make more sense to put lesser known fan favs from both universes into the sequel rather than saving a really well known character for the sequel.

Cage is definitly iconic. Everybody who have played MK in the early days remembers him. He was also part of the original cast and looking at the MK roster of MKvsDC ...he should be in. I think they probaly will make him a secret character or something.

Word up on the whole movie feel MK had. That was one of the first things I sensed when I saw the arcade and started playing. Good ol days, I hope they can bring that back.

Johnny Cage is the only actual human in the game who has the balls to stand up to anyone, even Onaga.

"The Mature Truth About Johnny Cage" - I like that especially the "mature" part. Johnny Cage is Iconic as well as Reptile. The fact of the matter is that most people who disagree with this where not even alive or still in diapers when the first game or movie came out. Hell half of them probably never owned a snes or genesis. I'm 27 and I sit at work and watch some of these people whine and cry that Reptile, Kung Lao, Mileena, Goro, and Cage are not in it. Then they have the nerve to say there not that iconic, a joke, or important. The original 7 should of been in this game. I remember that Cage's shadow kick was the best way to beat goro. I waited in line at arcades to play mk1 and then bought a move list for 10 bucks for mk2 that was printed from the internet from the only cheat site on the web Cheatcc.com. Yes this is before windows 95 came out. Hell, I even have the first movie on VHS. All I am saying is to those people who claim there veterans and know what there talking about shut the hell up....We are lucky to still have MK in our lives, but do us all a faver don't act like you know what your talking about when MK4 was your first game. Boon has heard our cry, even though this game is a cross over and we didnt get every single iconic character he still made the fighting engine like mortal kombat 2's. MK vs DCU is NOT dark and gritty,MK9 was supposed to be,but as Ed Boon said on a interview posted on M-K.net MK9 was suspended.
Mk vs DCU is just a common MK full of vibrant colors(light red,green,etc) and downgraded violence.

and about gameplay...the basic fighting is OK,but Free fall kombat and klose kombat really sucks

This is where a lot of the confusion comes from. To be kinder, I retract the Hostess Twinkie comment, but MK vs DC is the comedic kind of dark, and no different than any other MK game. It's not gritty in any way.

Although MK9 will be. They said in one of the MKasts that that is still the plan.

Well at least somebody aint complaining and yes I agree with you sure Johnny may considered to be cocky and some of his storyline was screwed up but he is still one of the best fighters in the MK series.

The truth about Johnny Cage?
He could've been the everyman entry into the Mortal Kombat universe, but over the course of the series was reduced to droning mediocrity. Instead of being the character that grew with the audience - developing as a character to be a part of the MK mythos instead of a passenger - he was essentially the same running joke in every game.

Try imagining him sounding like Kurt Russel :P

Whether you loved Johnny Cage or hated Johnny Cage, anyone who played Mortal Kombat since part 1 would admit that cage's abscence is rather shocking. The reason why have already been said throughout this thread so many times that I don't really need to repeat it. I do agree with most of what Gariador (did I spell your name right?) and the maker of the thread had said about this issue.
