Nothing is shocking here !
Just shocking to see how all MK1 playable characters make the cut... except Johnny Cage. It's just not because he is one of my fav (with Sub-Zero) but a disappointment.
All old MK fans wants him back, that's just normal.

Ok, MK VS DC isen't THAT dark, but still. Jax has changed, its pretty evident they made him more like he used to be, a soldeir, but people are still complaining about him, I guess that won't change untill they see Jax in action in the game and untill he gets a story on his own in the main series. But Jax rocks, he's unique and badass and it was a given he was in.

Token,lol, I knew someone would say that, but MKVSDCU does have a "serious" feel to it. I think Kano should be replaced with Mileena or maybe they could just add both Mileena and Cage?

now it's useness crying on the milk spilled.
Midway have to focus on gameplay and try to avoid any glitch,broken gameplay,infinite,etc and try to make a balanced fighting engine without any limitation.
i enjoyed the previous fighting engine 'cause i've never played online and the CPU it's not a dirty player luckly,but on line it could be quite frustrating.
no matter if Cage is missing,even tough he's better than Jax and could couple with Joker or flash perfectly,the most important thing now is core gameplay,and it seems that Ed is on the right path.

we can hope for DLC content,and in near future a special version of the game with all chars already in from the start.

however i think that MK9 deserves more attention

Well, I think Jax, Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Sonya and Raiden have more of an appeal than Johnny Cage. And already, I think that's too many good guys. If we replaced Kano or Baraka with Cage, then why not make the MK roster ALL good guys while we're at it?

Either way you look at it, with this game missing Johnny Cage this game seems a bit boring with all the seriousness without his inclusion.

So like him or not, hate him or not, it doesn't matter if he rules or blows. He is part of MK history and he is one of THE MK Icons. This is the most matter of fact and mature argument you will get on this subject. This is why I am disappointed in his exclusion from the cast as I would have made a similar argument for any other MK1 character. Hopefully Goro and Reptile will appear as some kind of boss and important role in the story or I will have to prepare long winded histories on them too.



I didn't know that about Johnny cage. I didn't know that they tried to get my FAV actor John Claude to play him. that would have made me go crazy. I wish they could have got him. If they would have got him, I think mk would be be bigger than it is now and plus Johnny would be in for sure.

Erm... Jax is one of the most popular MK characters among the non-MK fan base. Everyone knows the big guy with metal arms. Everyone thinks he's awesome. Among non MK Fans that I've talked with, anyway.

There was a thread awhile back about a "Hobo" Johnny Cage. Something about after a few failed movies his career dropped and he became enlightened, realizing that he's been taking stuff to lightly and that he returns to MK with like a goatee and a hoodie or something and is all badass.
That would be a perfect comeback plot for Cage if you ask me.

Well, I'm not saying that Cage isn't iconic, but among any of the good guys that are in the game, Sub-Zero, Liu Kang, Sonya, Jax, Raiden. I'd pick any of them over Cage.
He used to be my favorite before MK had cinematics. Then they portrayed him as a complete idiot.

Then you don't know your MK. YES, Jax has slipped in LIKABILITY since special forces and MKDA/MKA, but he still remains popular and well known. And why shouldn't him being the first black fighter count for something? If that shouldn't count then Sonya being the first female or Kitana being the second shouldn't either.

I don't think i don't know my MK. I also never said Jax is non popular. But just less then Cage.
Maybe in your country or around you, no one knows Cage, but i assume the sunglasses dude is more a classic and iconic than the black metal (lol) armed dude around the world.
I assume that in Europe Cage is more a classic MK fighter than Jax.

Well, at least all I know is that in Canada, Jax is by far more iconic than Cage.
Cage lost his luster after MK4, I think. I mean, everyone knows who Cage is, but people would rather play as Jax. And frankly, I find that the idea of a badass, Special Forces guy with metallic arms is more appealing than the idea of a cocky Hollywood prima donna.

EXACTLY! While Jax is still human, his cybernatic arms makes him a bit different from the other human characters, there for makes him a cool person to see in MKVSDC. I mean you can actually see Jax fighting Superman, but Johnny Cage? Are you freaking kidding me? Jax is the MOST popular character to the "non mk fans" crowd. Anyway, I really like Jax and I think he shouldn't be nailed to the cross for midway's mistakes. Midway was the one that made him "gangsta"(though I didn't mind that, I thought it was funny and cool). So I really hope Jax can turn the hate he's been getting since 2002 to love, he's a cool character that I can see going far. Midway do need to take him out of Sonya's shadow.

LOL MK4? omg I dont even care about the pathetic storyline I blame that upon Midway, Johnny Cage was awesome and still is plus anyway he kicks ass in any his in no matter what the stupid storyline is amd I have no hate on Jax, but still cage is a good fighter none less and hopefull will be a DLC.glasses

johnny cage was almost as crap as kano..he was good in mk1 when it was just a total rip off of jean claude van damme but when they started to change him and give him a story line and make out he was an original character he went down the pan.

im gllad kitana is in she is much better and maybe they will sneak melina in cos she was good too.
