man you're doing a huge mistake comparing Jax to Johnny Cage.
Jax was born as "the had guy,muscle one,hunk with militar attitude".
Cage was the "comic relief,suntanned,cocky but kind-hearted guy" they had different personalities and characters.
but after MK4,and especially after that great piece of shit that was Mk Annihiliation,someone had the great idea to give to Jax the same personality and comic relief role that used to be part of Cage personality.
so yeah...Cage loss his sense of humor,and instead Midway tried(failing) to seel us a hilarious Jax that scream "ohhhhh yeaaaaaaa!" during the fights.

actually i want Cage to be hilarious,comic-relief guy(a la Spider man) and Jax to be the militar serious guy.

and in Europe Cage is far away more popular than Jax,btw.

First off, Why shouldn't Kitana get in before Cage? Her story is much more developed and detailed then JC's. If Cage isen't getting resurrected he's dying, same ish over and over. I would like to see a serious Cage. You Cage fanboys aint giving me a good and rational reason WHY he should be in.

Jezz why is everybody focused on the damned storyline, it was a piece of crap but I focus on the characters fighting abilities and really I dont care say if Kitana or other characters or even your favs were to have a bad storyline would that affect the fact you like playing with them because of their abilities or playing style?

They took away Cage's best move, and his design in MKDA/MKA was extremely bad, I thought. Hated his pants, hated his tattoo, hated his new blondish hair color. So where's the appeal there? He didn't even look like an actor anymore, he looked like a washed up martial artist.

But you're saying who cares about the storyline... Well, the storyline is supposed to be a big aspect of MK vs. DC, so obviously it does matter.

I think Kitana should be in the game, but I think Cage should take Jax's place. Cage would fit in well because, he is very iconic and he would make a good counterpart for Flash. So far, what MK character matches well with Flash?

Umm how about Raiden who have been CONFIRMED to be the Flash's counterpart? Raiden can teleport like its nothing, DUH. What else do JC and flash have in common? Don't say them being funny because flash was only funny in the cartoons, in the comics and this game he's serious as fuck. Look at the flash's face in his render, he doesn't look "funny". Once again, JC shouldn't replace Jax because Jax is more than just a regular "good human" character like Liu and Sonya, he has cyborg arms which make it more believable that the MK characters CAN take on DC heroes and villains, Jax is like the superman of MK. But come on, do you really think JC can take on batman or superman and live? Lets be real here.

My point is, I was pretty disappointed with his MKDA design.

His MKDA and MKT were the only good ones IMO, hated his MK2 look.

Cage was badass and serious in MK2, MKT and MK4(Despite the asshole ending they gave him).

Vash, I'm not arguing that Reptile isn't more POPULAR than Cage. He is. My point in my post with his "character background" is that he IS more iconic on the note that the original game was developed around his character and a few key others (Lui Kang and he are primarily the original heroes), sadly Reptile being an after thought and added to give a cool secret fight. His being so thoroughly rooted in not only the history of but the mere existence of MK in the first place is why I'm mildly annoyed by his not being included.

ProfessorAnka I too agree that Kitana has to be in this game for her part in the history of what made MK2 great, I just also believe that Cage should be in as well. I like all of the characters that made it is so I'm far from trying to insult any Jax or Baraka fans. Actually I believe its Shao Kahn and Dark Seid who would be better suited as unplayable monster boss characters than player characters with Kahn's place (as much as I love Kahn lol) replaced by Cage but that's another post topic. As for a "good and rational reason", if this and my original post weren't rational enough arguments I'm not sure one exists, lol. Convincing arguments? That is debatable. Rational however... Yes.

I'm still bummed out with Cage not being included in the game, seriously the guy was on the side of the arcade cabinet for MK1, it really suprised me to see that he was not included in the roster for the game. I feel that ever since MK3 Cage lost his impact in MK which is unfair for the character. Cage did have a comeback in MK:SM but that's it. I hope we'll get an answer from the team developing this game to know why they didn't include Cage, and what influenced them in creating the final roster for the game.
