Who are you going to be using when that game comes out? If I had Live I'd take you on with my Hitomi but I don't have the ability to go online.

Wow, dropping over $100 on games you'll only play for a little bit of time. Oh well, your loss.
I refuse to drop any cash on DOAU. No point. I already own DOA, DOA2 (regular and hardcore), and DOA3 with the pack. So its got online play, wooo...its an old game. Move on, Tecmo, move on.

I know someone who buys games for all 3 systems. When I asked him why he said it was cause it was his money and he wanted to.

Yea thats very true. It very much so applies to both games. Thats why anyone that thinks they are the champ is totally wrong, unless they are good at guessing...since there is no ryhme or reason behind mks 50/50 guessing...there is no such thing as a best group of players. Its just bad medium good.

Ok but that is just plain idiotic to buy a game for more than 1 system. Just buy it for one.
That extra money could go to some good clothes and shoes not a duplicate of a game you already have.

The difference between DoA and MK is leaps and bounds. Mainly because of everything required in a good fighter DoA has because you have to remember that DoA was modeled after VF initially. Then VF and Tekken and DoA borrowed things from eachother over time. To say DoA didn't contribute to 3d fighters would be a flat out lie. Techrolling was invented by DoA, etc. as well as many other things.
Is DoA simple to pick up and play mid-level? Sure, it's made to be like that. But that doesn't constitute in the lack of high level play. Just think of it this way, there's at least 10 big tournaments and 20 decent-sized for DoA in a single year. The biggest one thus far was probably JAMMA or Microsoft's Japan Tournament. 1100 people came ONLY for DoA. Likewise hella tournaments in Taiwan, Singapore, etc. where people come only for DoA and DoA is the only thing being hosted there.
MK over the past hmmm 2-3 years has managed two big known tournaments. None of which showed anything worth watching really. The MWC (Midwest Championship) which had UMK3 as a side game (most people that played besides 2-3 people haven't played MK for a long time and 95% of the people that were there weren't there for MK) and likewise the Tournament in Texas 5 which Neo/MKL at the time tried to hype up to revive MK, which didn't work. 8 people played in that tourney and out of those 8, more than half came for other games such as Tekken. I mean MK can't even hold 2 "big" tournaments over the span of 2-3 years just for itself and with other games, it had the minimum required to start a tournament. Sure people hosted smaller tournies, but none were in viable locations, had a decent number of players that even really played, were even known to most in the surrounding area, etc.
MKL/Neo has proven himself in MK time and time again and won TiT5, most of the broken shit everyone knows is from him, Versatile and Konqrr. He's the one that invented the top tier Scorp as well as many other strategies.
The difference between MK and DoA is that DoA isn't 50/50 when it comes down to good players or even the basic options in the game. DoA actually has frame advantage, useful stances, strategy, etc. when it comes to playing the game. If you watch higher-level play in DoA, you will actually see baiting, movement usage, taking move property opprotunities from counter-hits, etc. So even though it's newbie friendly, it doesn't lack substance, but the good players of DoA have to be that much better to fight newbies. I mean you look at characters like Brad Wong who has 120 moves, 80% of which an average player needs to use or even more basic characters need to use around 20-30 moves in a match.
As for MK.. well we all know how MK is, the animation for the best chars is hella screwed, stuff being equal and 50/50 mixups with backdash cancel coming out of the ass. =P Hell, due to MKDA's system, depth can't even fester in MK. I'm sure once everyone knows what moves they should use that we'll all be doing 50/50 with the same exact moves. What's worse is the movelist of MK is smaller, but the amount of usable moves is smaller as well. Most characters don't have reasons to use anything else besides their safest and fastest option, because well.. why would you when they give you no advantage and you could make every move track and etc.? Anyways, sorry about the offtopic rambling.

Hmph, I'm gonna buy Mortal Kombat: Deception and Dead or Alive: Ultimate.
I'm getting DOA:U for the gameplay and MK:D for the intense violence, 'cause you never know when you'll feel like ripping off somebodys head and eating it
