I cant stand how people call DOA shit. Have some freakin respect. I know that you cant please everyone but damn. Some people actually like the game as much or better than MK.
For me, it all boils down to what mood Im in. If I want over-the-top-violence and blood and fatalities, I turn to MK. If I want fast-paced fighting with HUGE interactivity w/ environments and crisp graphics, I choose DOA.
Team Ninja's selling point can also be considered as its downfall by some (these big breasted women flopping around) but you really have a solid game underneath it all. You dont have to pick them. Hell, the men of DOA are badass IMO. Not only that but the graphics are just mind blowing. I am glad, however, that MK has stepped up its graphics from Deadly Alliance b/c Deception looks very crisp.
Both games have something unique. With MK, you have 3 unique styles to a character. With DOA, you have Tag Battle Mode that makes for some intense matches. Both are great games, but they are different games IMO.

Damn man, all you guys coming in here and giving Neo shit need to bow the fuck down.. As much shit as I gave him/ he gave me in the past, i can still recognize the fact that he is the BEST.. He proved it to everyone consistantly in tournament play.. Someone says "Hey you won a tourny with 15 shitty players in it, big deal." At least the mother fucker drove half way across the country each time to compete in those tournies to prove he was in fact the BEST. He gave everyone the chance to take his title from him by announcing exactly when and where he'd be playing MKDA. He backed his word up each time.. Thats a hell of alot more than any of us did by simply saying "I would beat your ass if we played".
Is he unbeatable?? no.. But when it counted the most, he won every single time. He earned the title of DA champ, and im sure he will have a short lived title of MKD champ for the 3 weeks he plays the game. Its good to see you will be giving everyone their chance to see how good you actually are bro.. I look foward to playn ya!!

the only reason there weren't alot of good mkda players was because how much fun is it sitting at home playing the same 3 people all the time, what made good mk players in the past was the ability to go to an acrade and play 20-30 different people with different styles, and thats the only thing im looking foward to is the ability to have actually competition again like the old days in the arcade, even thou with the death traps and stuff the gameplay and dominance will never be like it was back than.

WOW....somehow i knew this was gonna happen lol. anyway, i'm getting MKD for x-box and ps2 so that everyone can play me. this should really help the overall level of MK from day1. the reason i'm not gonna play after doa is out is cuz i just like doa better but i think the doa community being listners and not flamers cuz someone said their fav character was ok and not god may have something to do with it too lol.

MKL/_NE0_ is the best MKDA player, hands down, as some have stated. He will probably be pretty high up in MKD, too, if he invents some crazy things like he did for MKDA. Some of you bash him because he likes DOA more than MK? Wait until you play him online.

Bill did not just win that one tournament at TiT5. He travelled all over the US playing people, playing in tourneys...WINNING THEM ALL.
Sure, he lost here and there. And I'm sure that there are people as good if not better than Bill. But the fact is, he won every time that it counted. He is the best at MKDA, and will be a serious contender at MKD from day 1.

i won every tourney i went to except for nec3 in dec of 02 when the game was less then 3 weeks old. i got second to clint from atl. since then i have beaten him 20-0 on random select. i won nec4 which was the tourney with rayrokka and mr.S . i won a 64 man tourney in richmond and i won TiT5. besides that 1 loss no one ever ended up being close to my level not even that guy that won. after that tourney i broke the game down. back then i didnt know anthing about brc or scrop, stand and block, universal tracking, etc. the funny thing is that there r still people whi think they would have raped my brc, scrop, mavado, etc. every time i went somewhere i always posted where and when i was going, if no one wanted to show then its on them. people thought i had a huge ego because i dont listen to opinions in a game when facts have already been established. people get angry on this board when u dont say their fav character is the best. they get angry when u say stuff like sonya,kitana, etc cant beat BRC. they considered me arrogant because i wasnt listening to them but the fact was that i was listening, they werent. then theres the excuses problem on the board. like when i went to chi to play someone who KNEW i was coming to put a beating on him and then after the rapefest acted as if i just showed up. or because after a whole day of rape i lose 4 times in a row which obviously must negate the previous games and the other raping that i did the next day besides the 4 or 5 losses.
look.....if nightwolf or noob or brc or anyother broke character ends up being #1 in MKD and i say it, i know flames will be coming because others have opinions supported by nothing but hot air and no fact. to be high level at a game u need to now when the opinions r wrong and the facts remain. in MKD i dont know any facts nor will i right away so then opinions r fine but several months into the game opinions will be irrelevant to the facts that remain. and this is y i was hated then and probably will be hated now.

We play with friends and it stays at home. These "tournaments of skill" are nothing more than some geek pressing buttons on a controller. If you want to play a tournament--go play basketball, baseball, or football. Besides, we all know other countries hate all things US, and MK is mostly included in this. If any of you want to be called a "video game master," go ahead, but don't brag about it. It's just for fun.

Honestly, if all fighting games were "pressing buttons on a controller" then it would be a game of reflex and obviously, fighting games would be pretty stupid. Likewise if Basketball were just guys shooting a ball in a hoop, football was just passing a ball around, etc. A good fighting game is game of out-thinking the other person, that's what all good fighting games aim for. Likewise the reason why basketball, football or any sport is good is because it requires strategy and thinking. Like the best Akira Player in Japan said, Virtua Fighter is chess at 60 frames per second.
As for the validity of skill and tournaments, obviously we've already had an uncountable amount of big tourneys for video games and fighting games already. Hell, in Korea, Starcraft is considered a "National Sport." The best Starcraft player, slayerS_Boxer is sponsored by coke and is on a freaking coke can in all of Korea. He's professionally paid millions a year. WCG (World Cyber Games) is basically the olympics for computer games and obviously.. there are a billion tournaments worldwide for fighting games, video games and everytype of game in general. QuakeCon, UDE's world tour for their trading card games, Magic the Gathering's constant touring and huge cash prizes every year, etc. All games are created just for fun, especially physical sports. However, that did not stop people from forming things such as Basketball leagues with professionally paid players. I mean I don't think you're going to go upto some NBA player that just won the finals and his ring, and say it didn't mean anything. Whether something should be in a tournament or not, is directly related to if anyone wants to watch it and participate in it. Tournaments for games has existed since who knows when.

That's pretty funny. I suppose then that all these phantom countries must hate using the assembly line. I suppose the transistor radio is shunned overseas. Forget about watching movies or television. I'll be damned if I see anyone outside the U.S. playing baseball. Disney films can't possibly be some of the highest grossing films worldwide. Microsoft is nowhere to be found. And video games aren't played anywhere else in the world.
The point is, "all things US" aren't hated any more than things from anywhere else in the world.

Some of us are holding an MKD tourny on XBL, will start on the 12th of Oct, and run a few weeks.. Could i persuad you to join so you can make a believer out of all these haters on the boards? You said yourself you would like to see the kommunity become better and more of high level kommunity.. What better way to help do it than to compete in a tourny with the rest of us and show all of them exactly what they have chose to ignore for the past 2 years (DA's broke ass fighting engine). Remember that old Simpson espoide where Bart and Homer was playing that boxing video game and Bart was beating Home everytime. Then Homer went to the acrade and saw a little boy playing the boxing game and that little boy was unfeated. After a few hour with that boy Homer lost all his match but he learn how to play the game as it was meant to play. When Homer went home and challege Bart for the last time, Homer was beating Bart because of what he learn in breaking down the gameplay.
What this have to do with MKD and fighting game you ask? Well the point is that you can't expect to be the greatest if you only play against the computer and some friend. You can learn better techique playing against a good player online. Even if you lose you can learn why you lose unless you are close minded and don't break down your weaken in the game and just jump online everytime.
