That is an awesome idea, TomTaz! I would love it if a new male vampire had that name! The name would go well considering the fangs and the viewing the vampiric trait as a poison in itself! The name just makes him sound badass!

Thanks. This is of course assuming that the idea of a male vampire wasn't scrapped, because that discussion was quite a while back so things could have changed.

I believe that there will be no fighter who is called Kobra (or Cobra) in the MKDeception, but if he got to mistake to me, I believe that it would be or a member of the Red Dragoon, or in effect, possibly a new vampire. IMO.

Well actually that's just it there is no info on him as of yet, just a name. I can't remember what post it was that mentioned him, but I can tell you it was by Thelonious_Monk.

I was under the impression that "Ben" and "Kobra" were the same person ... just a name change. I could be wrong, however.

I think the Midway team saw we all wanted reptile back in his old form (ninja or semi-ninja look).. so they created a new character of his race and will give him that look because Reptile is de-evolving, or a super-being now...
so I think he'll look like Reptile from MK4...

first of all you are wrong cause reptile isnt even in this game. so reptile wont look like mk4 cause he aint even in this game.

it aint a member of Dragon kings army, cause hotoru is the general of DK army, and he is a new fighter. they wouldnt add 2 ppl that were from DK army.

second, it isnt from reptiles race, cause reptile is the last species of his race, when he dies his race goes extinct, well not anymore i guess since DK and the whole army itself could be reptiles race.

i just think he is a male vampire it makes good sense, seeing as kobras have those fangs like vamps.

Dont get me wrong, i'm totally glad about a new vampire being in MKD, but IMO the name Cobra/Kobra doesnt match a vampire at all in any case. I know it does have the fangs and such, but the cobra is part of the snake family, which is part of reptiles race. At first, i thought cobra was going to be a reptile warrior on the DK's side. I mean, first we have the name ben of a champion martial artist, and now combra for a vampire? Whats next, the name froggy for a cyborg? Hehehe, jk.

Seriously though, i'm glad about there being a new vampire, IMO vampires OWN.

Could be a codename. I would actually like to see Kobra being a Tekunin as well, maybe as a representative of a what if scenario, for it Reptile had ever been converted, assuming that the Lin Kuei would have continued with color of plating to corespond with the color of their ninja attire. So a green cyborg perhaps?

I think that Kobra being a new vampire is interesting enough, but why? Why do we really need a new vampire? What's their purpose for being involved in Deception? Because I would assume that Nitara would have returned then, with or without someone else of her race.

Or a Red Dragon representative would be great. I'll be kinda pissed off if Kira really is a Black Dragon, just because I think that the Red Dragon's are the new threat, from what was hinted at in DA.

Either way, I'm very pleased at what the MK Team has done character and storywise, and no matter how Kobra turns out, I'll still be anticipating his story, styles, and of course fatalities to play around with

I doubt this will actually be a character when the game comes out.

However, if there were such a character I don't believe it would be a vampire. Possibly a lost member of Reptiles race, or possibly something new all together.

Like I said, I don't think there will be one in the game. Just have to wait until it comes out.

yah im betting if he is in the game he's probably of reptiles race... with a reptiles name afterall... like khameleon.... i believe that the mk team is trying to please alot of people with deception and perhaps all the outrage at what they did to reptile this is there attempt to put a "ninja reptile" back in the game for all those fans.... just a guess but that's what i believe IMO... if he is indeed a real character....

The problem is that when you try to please everybody you eventually lose sight of what you were trying to accomplish in the first place, which in this case, is an extremely well designed, entertaining, and long lasting fighting game. Now, that means that they shouldn't throw in a random raptor in there, just because we don't have Reptile to play around with, or a new God because Raiden is gone, new martial arts superstar because Johnny Cage is gone, so on and so forth. It's not a good move, because then where is the innovative and original characters?
