Okay, had to say that. I don't mean to be taken seriously with what I just said. I do like this theory brought forth...could make for an interesting fusion/separation scene. I think that they may be brought together by Raiden and Superman, and undone by Raiden and Superman, if that makes any sense. It would seem somewhat logical if the very things that morphed them also undid them. Could be possible.

I hope that's not the case, because it would be totally stupid. Do you know how many mergers would've happenend, with the constant battles on both sides? Every time they happen to zap/laser someone at the same time, villains would start to merge.

One reason why it wouldn't make any sense at all, is because Superman's heat vision isn't magic based. It's not like he's casting a spell to banish Darkseid to another dimension and Raiden is doing the same with Shao Kahn.

Didn't Midway say a catastrphic event would happen on both sides? Zapping and lasering someone isn't a catastrophic event.

Thing is it seems Raiden and Superman dealt a mager blow to Kahn and Darkseid respectively.

The amount of energy released was great that it caused the universes to merge.

The merger itself is the catatrophic event, notice haow places in each side start getting destroyed when the merger starts.
