I second Scorpion looking like some kinda Hellknight zombie monster.

I wish MK introduced the KAK for normal characters like they did in Tekken 5 and Soul Calibur IV. With LOTS of editing options.

That'd be a bit much to ask I think. Considering that we don't even know if secondary costumes are a safe lock.

Maybe EVERY character should be just a blank slate and let us make their costumes. That way, we don't have to worry about some of Midway's less interesting character designs. *cough* MKD Sub-Zero Alternate *cough*

About Me

When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yes sir, the check is in the mail."

The skeletal snake spear, and all the other spear ideas quite frankly, would make awesome fatalities in my opinion...Jack Burton thinks that the "special" spears should be saved for those occasions. As for his normal, in-game spear, I'm liking all of the suggestions made thus far.

As for Scorpion looking ragged and battleworn, like the true undead spectre thingy he is, I'm all for it. I think that would be a fresh design prospect for his character. I wouldn't mind seeing that in MK9 or something...I don't know if they'd have any time to do something like that for MK vs. DC.

And THAT'S what Jack Burton has to say at this time.

I think the Snake coming out of Scorpions hand in the MK movie was awesome I really wouldnt mind seeing that one because I believe it was cool and if it would bite you it would be bloody and perhaps gruesome.

It was a good costume design, it just wasn't Sub-Zero. I think it should've been used for another character.

That's true I think. I really liked the design, but I admit it was weird to see him in a ponytail. Would've been an awesome design for an assassin like character.

I say keep it simple and keep the concept of Scorpion having a rope spear that is attatched to his side.

I like to think of Scorpion as a ninja who utilized all the skills he learned in his life, but is granted more power due to him selling his soul to the devil. With the idea of Scorpion having this elaborate "creature" as his spear takes away from Scorpion's impact as a ninja and in my eyes makes him look too similar to Spawn.

I think a great idea for his fatality would be to combine two of Scorpion's signature aspects. Scorpion's "Toasty" fatality utilized with his spear.

Imagine Scorpion throwing his "simple" spear into his opponent and it becomes lodged in their chest. Rather than tugging on the spear right away Scorpion takes off his mask revealing his true face. The opponent in fear tries prying the spear out of their chest in an attempt to flee but to no avail. Scorpion engulfs his end of the rope with a breath of fire and it transcends quickly to the other end that ignites the opponents body. The opponent screams in pain as his/her flesh burns. Before the opponent finishes their scream of pain Scorpion tugs at the rope exploding the opponents torso into burnt sinew and ash while the rest of the corspe falls to the floor burnt to a crisp.

I thought it would be cool to use his Spear in other ways in special moves. I came up with an idea similiar to Kai's ground fireball attack. Scorpion puts his hand on the ground and sends his Spear through. It comes up where the enemy is standing and stabs/cuts them real quick. Then he pulls his hand up and the Spear comes back to him but without the enemy. It does damage instead of pulling them.

I liked all the elaborate ways it was used in Shaolin Monks. How he spun it around himself.

Even if the spear stays as a large, roped kunai, I still would like to see it all rusted and gritty.

I like these ideas. I dont why not, it would make the thing look more interesting imo.

That's a very cool suggestion+idea!

I can see him having this "special spear" for a Fatality, it would rock!

JackBurton's idea for different spears in the fatality is good, but it wouldn't look good to have him suddenly shoot out a different kind of spear. Remember the MKT Hell Hand Fatality? It could be like that, except Scorpion'd raise his arm and a load of hell chains/spear creatures 'd come out of the ground and wrap the opponent up and pull them into a hell portal in the ground.

Shooting out different spears would be indeed kinda weird. That's why I want him to have just one spear similar to the firsk MK movie, Annihilation, Conquest or even Defenders of the Realm.

A living spear offers much more possibilities. Like for example the ground move that has been mentioned earlier. With Scorpion putting his hand to the ground and shooting the spear out from beneath the enemy. And there could be some really awesome Fatalities.

I'd love to see the living spear, but instead of a rope or chain use the veins in his body.

Scorpion was one of the highest skilled assassins of the Shirai Ryu, his expert spear throwing is the only special move he has that connects to this. Almost all of his other special moves are already supernatural.

And since there’s a possibility he can lose the spear, it adds a greater risk. Which is what Scorpion needs, kind of like how when he dies, he comes back two seconds later now a days. What’s the point? Basically if Scorpion is after you, you’re fucked and are about to fight an endless battle until he one ups you.

I liked how the old Malibu comics had it, he put his soul on the line just to come back to earth.

So what exactly do you mean? Do you want him to lose the spear when he misses an opponent? Basically, one miss and he can't use it during the entire match anymore.

No, obviously that won’t work in the game. I mean just knowing the possibility it could be lost.

Looking at it his whole character, imagining him fight, to me, it sounds a lot more compelling than believing him and the spear can’t be unattached. Like he doesn’t have to use any skill if his ghost powers do all the work for him.

Heh, I should stop now. >_<

It could work. Vega can lose his claws in Street Fighter, but always pick them up. And couldn't you throw your weapons in Deadly Alliance or stab your enemy? After that they also couldn't be used again.

Would you say Scorpion in the Movie had no skill? He had his living spear, but it was not like he was just sitting on a chair, drinking cool aid, while his spear beat Johnny Cage down.

I think it should be like this:
Scorpion throws his spear into the opponent and it becomes lodged in their chest. He takes his mask off then slowly pulls the opponent towards him. The opponent in fear tries prying the spear out of their chest in an attempt to flee but to no avail. Once they're close enough Scorpion breaths fire on them and the opponent burns to dust

Gorilla balls? Yum. Very tasty, but small. You know, in Africa it's an insult to say "You're hung like a Gorilla."
