All reviews, both good and bad, are nothing more than glorified reviews.

While general consensus tends to agree on the perks and flaws of most games, that still doesn't mean the game won't be enjoyed by its intended fanbase.

For example, older games like Castlevania: Legacy of Darkness, Hybrid Heaven, and Shadow Hearts got pretty mediocre scores, while I view them as ambitious, amazing, original alternatives to the majority of the mainstream crap most companies put out that I thoroughly enjoyed.

Meanwhile, I think games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Grand Theft Auto 4, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion were highly overrated.

Those are my opinions and they hold about as much weight and merit as any other "professional" critic's review score.

I don't consider game reviews at all when I am deciding whether or not to buy a game.

To this day I don't get why some will strictly buy games (or not) on a reviewer's say so. I mean, some of them try to be fair and unbiased...but still at the end of the day it's THEIR opinion of the game. Doesn't mean you'll feel the same way after playing it. I just don't understand it. But hey, people can do what they want. It's just how do you know you're not missing out on a game that you might have liked if you'd at least rented it to find out first?

People have different views on video games, same as everything else in life. Much better to form your own opinion than to conform to someone else's.

Videogame critics are worthless people. I only read reviews to get an inside look of the game I'm interested in, I could care less about their pathetic opinions.

Agreed here I only trust my perspective of the game and not a reviewer besides its a matter of peoples opinions like if you gave the job of reviewing a game to a random person chances are you dont know what they might say meaning im just gonna wait till the game comes out but from what ive seen so far I cant wait 2 play it!

I hope you guys be honest when you do play it, if it sucks it sucks, don't FORCE yourself to like it. But it could be good, IDK.

If this game does get crap reviews across the board then people need to accept it for what it is.

Being honest iv played hundreds and hundreds of games.
If it wasnt for the fact that i love MK i probably wouldnt buy this game.

I'm a big Street Fighter (HURRY THE FUCK UP SF2TURBOHDREMIX & IV) and Tekken (hence my signature-- HURRY THE FUCK UP TEKKEN 6) but I'm just as excited about this game as any other Mortal Kombat fan. With that said... HURRY THE FUCK UP MKvsDC!

Yea, they think it looks bad and they have lost all hope in Midway as a game company. But that is no reason to try and force your opinion upon people by saying "You'll be sorry" and " Don't come crying to me when the game sucks". We all get it, the game might suck it might not. I have agreed with a lot of the stuff people have said on here but the ranters get on my nerves a bit.

*On topic, I think it is wrong for that mag to have a bias reviewer. Thats about it, for all we know the guy could have never played Mk games on his own time. Well clearly seeing as he's a huge street fighter fan. And I'm not just trying to protect the game.

*One more thing. IMO
-The game is fine with the amount of blood it has.
-No matter if there where fatalities or not, if the fighting is good it's all gravy.
-And they pick a nearly perfect roster with enough familiar characters that people who haven't played Mk in 10 years can walk up and go "Hey I used to Whoop ass with him when I was 9."

Yeah Ahnka just likes to troll. There is a HUGE difference between giving one's opinion and trolling.

Let's try an example: Renders

Opinion: I don't like this render because.... I think that they could have ____ instead of ..... I think ____ would have looked better without... This is my least favorable render because... This is my favorite character render because... The detail to the renders look better... The details aren't that great because...

Trolling: WOW, this render is absolutely horrible. Didn't I tell you guys that they would ruin the characters? What the hell did you do to her Boon, looks like a man! This game is gonna suck, and this is just another reason why I won't be buying this crap... maybe rent.

Another example: Fatalities

Opinion: I think they could have done a little more to the Fatalities. I feel they are a bit short and could use some more blood. A few of them were great, but I thought some of them lacked in originality. I liked ___'s because... I didn't really enjoy ____'s because....

Trolling: WOW, these were fatalities? That was the worst shit I've seen in all MK. Boon definitely fucked us all over with this one. NO BLOOD, WTF? NO GORE, WTF? These have absolutely NO originality to them. I had a feeling DC would fuck over MK with this T rating bullshit. Lousy ESRB and DC basically trashed everything that made it an MK game. This game sucks, I don't even wanna rent it anymore.

Anyways, if these were the same crazy people that gave Gears of War 2 a low score, then you should come to expect a score like this. I wouldn't agree to it, though I would use the majority of the votes (from various sites and magazines) as a reference at most. I'd base the final score entirely off my experience with the game.

Speaking the truth is not trolling. If something looks like crap i'm going to state it. I'm not going to say it with alot of fluff. Anyways, yeah, I think that this UK magazine bashed MK fans in America. I remember reading it on MKO. "US players will think MKA will be the best thing to happen since MAster Chief picked up a second gun." Something like that.

I don't trust journalist reviews for fighting games because mainstream video game journalists have no fucking clue when it comes to competent fighting game mechanics. Most review fighting games as they would any other genre, as piece of interactive art and often fail to realize that fighting games are not art, they are a science. I trust the fanboase opinions more than I do the journalist and with that being said I cant wait to read mastermalone's review if he feels so inclined to write one.
