Because it's likely that Kano is getting Xing Yi back and Sektor took over Kenpo. *shrugs* At least she has a fast style, I'm NOT loving Sareena's. Special moves rock, but Ba Shan Fan just doesn't work.

Looks like Sareena's knife throw will be unstoppable,and damn its fast.
Now all they have to do is give her a better style and she is perfect.

raiden has no new special moves.

but nan chuan has 41 moves now and the staff has 27.

I don't see why they just took all the old "styles" and randomly gave them out to all the characters. It's like they pulled them out of a hat. A character's "style" is a big part of what makes them them. Why can't they have the same "style", just modified a bit. The moves within a "style" in present MK aren't inextricably linked by loads of branching, or by what can actually be accomplished from the initial stance. This is what makes Create a Fighter mode feasible- you can chop and change stuff from different styles.
If Kira had had a mix of Kenpo and XY and a bit extra, and Kano a mix of XY and Judo (If i remember right), and something else, it would be a lot better. Lose the on screen "style indicators"- which are pointless- you can see whether your character has a weapon or not, and relegate them to the character's profile- it's not like the styles are that authentic anyway- look at the Kenpo stance for instance...
It seems a bit mental that people would unlearn their whole fighting style, learn something else, and not change their clothes. Rant over. I need to calm down.

The problem is that Ba Shan Fan (a.k.a. Fan Zi Quan) is supposed to be quite fast yet they messed it up, twice. If she does keep it, at least she'll have good mixups.
I personally see her with Chuojiao, which is sort of the opposite of Ba Shan Fan/Fan Zi Quan in that while Fan Zi focuses more on striking, Chuojiao focuses more on kicking. Her styles in MKTE, Tae Kwon Do and Yuan Yang, are kicking-oriented styles, and I'm sure she knows Ashrah, who used Chuojiao in MKD, so that's my idea in a nutshell.

It's not a "stupid Karate Kid stance". It's the stance in Yuan Yang Quan, a Northern Chinese martial art specializing in kicking techniques.

i don't think that the chosing of stlyes is quite that random.
but for the most i don't see why alot of people are complaining as long as the styles are decent and not complete and total crap.
the reason for the "actual" fighting style being there is i think to make the characters unique.

In real life it might look less silly, but this is irrelevant. Part of why i like Kira is that she had cool practical looking style.
