Fujins dive kick; did it have a required apex durring the jump to execute or could you execute it at any height, or even loosely designated heights, durring the jump? Could it be used to run down and preasure peeps, or was the recovery ass?

Thanks a lot Malone. You deserve at least a free copy of this game when it comes out, but a whole lot more.

I think we should also, every one of us, thank Bleed, TonytheTiger, HDTran, Versa, Konqrr, Check, Dan, FLStyle, and the many others whom my feeble mind cannot seem to recollect the names who took a stand, called it like they saw it, and cared enough to DO this work so that all of us could stand back and say "Wow, awesome".

Thanks guys. MK won't be MK without ya.

I appreciate the props, too. But I think malone deserves all the praise at this point for being the one who went far above the call of duty with this one. Malone, my big question at this point (nice to hear the 7 frame escape as opposed to the 2 frame one) is if there will be more than one throw per character and a different escape for each throw. Even with a tight window, throws may end up becoming far less viable than they should if there aren't multiple escapes.

1) Unlikely that there will be two throws per character. The funny thing about the throws is that the multi directional throw was absent from the E3 demo. If that is in the final build they I would say yes but not until we see it for ourselves.

2) Well, you are correct about the viability of the throw without two different escape methods. However, this issue has never been a problem in Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike. The throws are still pretty viable there.

That's the example all hardcore whiners should follow, but you guys are on another level for doing it.
Ever since realizing the flaws, I always said MK would be great with better gameplay. I gave up after the "one MK a year" announcement though. I could have never organized it and got it to Boon.
I don't know if anything will change in infinites or wake-up game, but I applaud you for "going above the call of duty," as TonyTheTiger said.

I appreciate your comments. I am happy to know that that all MK fans, including the Story/Fatality fans and the Gameplay Buffs can appreciate what we have done.

No Apex required my friend! The move was rediculously fast and seemed very useful like Yun's dive kick from 3rd Strike, he had little recovery frames even if it was blocked. I hope they leave it that way.

Cool malone.

Also, I'm not sure if you could have noticed this at all but if anyone could first shot, it's you man given your knowledge of fighters in general.

Example:In MK:D you could buffer Kabal's spin off of a plasma blast for a free spin, thus giving you a free opportunity for a free hit afterwards.

Did you noticed this improving with MK:A being faster in general at all or not?

This example could be used for several characters such as Sektor perhaps with his missles, did you see any sign of anything free after any of the characters hit you with a fireball at sweepish range?NOTE:This is not an OTG just a free move hit due to to Deceptions slow recovery time off of certain special moves.

Pretty much, I'm asking you if you noticed as many buffer opportunities in MK:A to get free hits that aren't OTG's like you could do in Deception say.

Kabals fireball at mid ro sweep range stuns you, then you can immediately buffer a free spin off of that.

Another example was Dairou's fireball stunning you then depending on how fast the player is, you can buffer the TS for a free hit.

Etc, etc.You get my point I'm sure lol.Thanks.smile

I saw the E3 pics. Good stuff, but I was wondering if you had pics of the whole report you gave to the developer guy. If not, is that report here on the forum in some form (sorry if it's in this very thread)?

This stays on the first page... for now...

But I have another question, Mastermalone. How did you go about the E3 hand-off?
Did you and others here set the meeting up pre-E3 through E-Mail, or did you just hand the guy stuff when you saw him?

If you would like, PM me with a hotmail address or something and I'll send you a soft copy of the written documentation that I gave to the Team.

There was no need to set up a meeting with the developers. When you go to E3, everyone hands out something to somebody whether its the latest mag or technical-developer hooplah. When I walked in, the first thing I did was ask the Midway workers who they were, and what they did for the game's design. The I gave it to the guy you saw in the pic shaking my hand(the online mode developer) who in turn gave it to Paulo Garcia. After a long visit with them, I left to see the other sights at the E3. When I came back, news spread rather quickly about the user feedback that I gave them, of which they were excited to receive. They thought it was awesome that we here at MKO took the time to create such detailed user feedback in the form of danadbab's awesome glitch videos and written documentation.

All of the documentation came from a thread that I created to obtain all gameplay related issues that the members of MKO wanted resolved. There were even some new gameplay additions requested of the Team that may be taken into consideration. Even if only a fraction of the requests get implemented and most of the glaring flaws of MKD are resolved, our efforts will not have been in vain. I will gladly make the trek again for all of us when the next MK gets set to hit the Next Gen consoles.

Malone, what do you think about the fact that every character will have 1 hand-to-hand style instead of 2?

Do every character's hand-to-hand style haves alot of combos that make up for lacking another style?

Is it a good thing they narrowed the hand-to-hand styles for every character to have one, is it improved, or did they fuck it up?

I know nothing more about the Secret Mode than any of you do. The Team was reluctant to divulge any information regarding the Secret Mode.

Sorry guys sad

You will have to create every move for you KAK, even it's throw. There is a default throw already set for the KAK if you don't want to bother with it. So far, all the standard throws available did not have any advantages over eachother. If the throws stay the same, it will make no difference which throw you have which is fine by me.

1) I actually answered this question in an earlier post. The E3 build had the exact same styles from MKD, they were unchanged. I was advised by the Team that each style will be expanded upon.

2) After using characters with one style, I can safely say that the game is alot less cumbersome to play. Streamlining the styles was the best thing they could have done for this game. It also gives more of a distinct personality to the characters. I'm sure many of you will agree when the game is released.

How would you compare the throws of the 15 different characters in the E3 build?

Did you suggest the idea of the block stun to the MK team?

And...I know I've asked this already but I think you overlooked it, but um, does Kahn's throw do more than 5 damage this time? tongue

1) The documentation I gave to the Team described block stun in quite a bit of detail. Trust me, any gameplay enhancement that you can think of is on the written documenation. It all came from the collective minds here at MKO, not just mine.

2) All of the throws except Sheeva's (she had Sub-Zero's old throw) placed quite a bit of distance between you and your opponent. Some throws were acrobatic in nature like Rape-O's, and others were multi-hitting knock-back moves like Strykers.

3) Yes it did, it was 16%

lol whew, those are sighs or relief. Shao Kahn is one of my favorite characters, believe it or not, so I'd like him to be able to be decent at least. Did Tai Tzu have any good low pokes? Is it a good, decent, or shitty style?

Did the team speak at all about bringing back classic moves for nostalgia's sake, as it would give a great send off for character's we might not see again. Will Sonya be getting her definitive leg grab back?

I want most of all to see Jax get his Gotcha! Grab back, but it should NOT be a regular throw; it should be a special command, like Raiden's in MKDA/D, cause not being able to use it in juggles wouldn't be pleasant.
For his normal throw, he should take back what is rightfully his; Darrius's Backbreaker Grab would make a great looking throw for Jax, and would be a good resemblance of his Mk2 Air Throw. That should have been Jax's throw in MKDA.

So, did the team mention (even briefly!) whether we would see moves like the Leg Grab, the Nut Punch, and the Gotcha! again?

hey nobrainer, he already answered that question on pg 7 and pg 8.
Here he what he wrote

Yes, they will receive some of their old school moves back such as Cyrax's Green Net etc. I'm not sure of the full extent of the returning specials but they said that some were making a return.

Im just wondering malones, did they mention any other moves coming back other then the green net?

Did they tame Pao Chui any for Shinnok? I was able to create some pretty damaging juggles in that style with Liu Kang in Deception.
