Before I forget also.Malone, two more questions that I just remembered lol. Please don't hate me lol.

1.Will it be backwards compatible with the 360 by the time it comes out?

2.The KAK again, please tell me that we don't have to unlock SOME of the moves to give us the total amount of moves for KAK or other attributes.

I want to know if it will be given to us first hand.I prefer this, but if it's not not a big deal.

It's just MOST here will want to KAK first and to not have everything off hand would kind of suck a little bit.Know what I mean? But thanks in advance man.grin

The E3 build did not allow for special moves in the air, but I was advised that the build in Chicago did. I was told that they are aerial versions of the special moves that sort of look different when performed.

Yes, they will receive some of their old school moves back such as Cyrax's Green Net etc. I'm not sure of the full extent of the returning specials but they said that some were making a return.

I hope that helps

Peace

Man, when he im'ed me a few days ago telling me the Net was coming back, I cant tell you how happy I was.

Malone...I said you're awesome, though obviously you aren't the one bringing the net back...however, you asked them...you have no idea how frustrating its been to have so many people whine about the net...and never asked about it when they had the chance (ie, fight night)...im so glad you asked them. AWESOME.

Second that^^^.Cyrax is one of my favs and I'll play with him a lot.

Malone, I'm curious dude.Do you believe or did Midway give anything away concerning EVERY character getting ALL of their original moves back again?

Like, Sektor has his missle, new verticle one, teleport again and a new flamethrower.

Do you believe they will do the same for Cyrax, Smoke and Reptile along with all the characters?

For example:Cyrax HAS to have his Net back, his bombs, a teleport and perhaps a new move.Reptile HAS to have his invisibility, forceballs, acid spit and slide.

It's ok if you don't know this because I know the really important gameplay issues had to be taken care of first, just figured I'd ask.

From the looks of the game so far, I'm assuming every character has their original moves back for the most part.

Also, a quick KAK question man.

Did they tell you at all what the limit is with special moves per KAK?

Like when we make our KAK, can we have 3 specials or 6 max? Thanks.smile

1) Again, they didn't really reveal how many of the old speacial moves will be returning. My guess is that the team will make a variation of the old moves to better suit the 3D gameplay, don't expect exact replicas of the originals. Just look at Sub-Zero's Icy Pillar, it's pretty much like the old Ice Shower but in reverse.

2) I believe I saw the special move limit on the KAK screen was set at 4 different types, which is the same for normal characters. No more "uber" Shujinko type characters. In addition to that, there will be totally original moves that you can unlock in the game made specifically for the KAK mode to further distinguish the KAK's from the normal characters. Cool stuff so far.

Not sure if this has been answered, but watching the vids I see OG MK cross ups. Do they act primarily the same as as expected, minus the canned spam afterwards?

Oh, and I noticed in a vid that jarek did his TS variation, but he did them twice, one right after the other. Is that how quickly they recover or does he have both a single back drop and a double back drop in his move set?

1)The characters from MKDA and MKD will more than likely only receive some graphical upgrades to their existing costumes. The MKDA Sub-Zero costume looked a bit more polished in this E3 build. To be honest, the team has plenty of time to make new, orignal alts for the characters if they want to, so they may or may not make some changes. Only time will tell.

2) I didn't ask the team about the fight ladder....that's a good question.....I haddn't even thought of that one.

3) A.I. bot eh? More like a practice mode where you can set the practice dummy to crouch, block, jump, attack, and "CPU" opponent... I mention that to them and they thought it was a great idea. I told them that it should be standard in all of their fighting games.

What would you like to know? Because so far, the weapons are using existing weapon stance movesets from MKD. For example, Shinnok's weapon had the same techniques as Sindel's Kwan Do stance and Rape-O er.. I mean Reiko's weapon stance used the moveset from Kenshi's weapon stance. Again, you have to remember that the styles represented in the E3 build were simply place holders and are more than likely going to change. They were merely "cut and pasted" for demonstration purposes.

1) You are correct on the cross ups. In fact, you can easily transition from a low poke to a jump in order to get over your opponent for a cross up. I mixed it up between throws and cross-up jump kicks.

2) As of now, the speed increase on special moves applies to all of them in the E3 build. Moves like Jarek's, Sheeva's Goro's, Dairou's, Jax's etc. will be twealed for balancing purposes by adding an increase in the amount of time needed to perform the move repeatedly.

Hey Malone, I was just wondering can weapons actually be used in air combat? Because everytime i've seen a video of air combat with someone holding a weapon, the weapon itself is never used. Was this just coincidental or weapons simply cannot be used in the air?

Will each of the characters have their own distinct aerial moves or will they be more generic?

When you brought up the practice mode stuff, did you also bring up stuff about indicating if the attack hits high, mid, or low?

Did you talk to them about combo strings as a better solution instead of dial-a-combos?

The E3 Build did not allow for the use of weapons in the air. The characters would simply be holding them while performing the air combos, not actually using them. At this point in development, it is probably unlikely that each and every weapon stance can be fited with animation routines for air combos. I wouldn't hold my breath for it.

1) So far, only Meat has been mentioned which is a mystery to me because he was never really a character. Meat was a costume that you could pick for your character in MK4. But I guess the same could be said for Ermac, he was a glitch in MK1. The Team would like to keep the game a surprise and were quite reluctant to divulge too much information concerning secret characters. Let's all just wait for the surprise! Motaro could only be seen on the select screen. Again, the Team would like to keep as many surprises as possible kept secret untill a month or two before the release of the game.

2) Reptile will have his MKDA costume. The good news is that they may surprise us with the old ninja outfit or you could make in in the KAK mode which is quite easy to do.

1) All characters have an air throw. Two if you count the air throw that uses the actual throw button. The air combo throw button is performed by pressing B on the Xbox control or Circle on the PS2 Control. The one I pulled off with Sub-Zero using the actual throw button looked like Kung Lao's air throw from MKT where he flips over the opponent's shoulders and slams them to the ground.

1) There was no mention of a team up mode or team play what so ever.

2) Puzzle and Chess will not be making a return in MKA. The Team said that they do not like to repeat themselves with each and every new game when it comes to the additional game modes. The secret mode will take the place of Puzzle and Chess.

3) Liu Kang is still a Zombie.

1) The air combos seem to be generic but at the same time they are more akin to the air combo method in Marvel vs Capcom 2. You can perform them the same way you would perfor the chain combos in MvC2. For example:

I hit 1,1,2, then 1,3,2,4 and it all chained together rather easily. At this point they seemed generic but that will change with time, there is so much more to the game back in Chicago from what I was told.

2) Yes, I brought that question up to them, again, they thought it was a fantastic idea for learning the nuances of the game.

3) At this point in the game, you might want to get used to the idea of continuing the tradition of the dial a combo. They would litterally have to re-write the entire fighting engine. The next game will more than likely not retain the dial a combo style as they are starting from the ground up. I'm cool with the game retaining the same combo feature, as long as I can use the new air combo stytem to create my own combos.

Let me commend you on a fantastic job Mastermalone. Nobody else has given me so much hope for this game. I got a question for you, are throw escapes and the wake-up game going to be definites feature in MKA? Because from what I read/heard in interviews with Boon he just says "we're toying around with the idea" but he never gives a concrete response. Also I noticed in one of the videos that Goro is dashing towards Striker is this feature in the game as well?

1) From what I was advised, yes, get up attacks and throw escapes will be in the game. This information came staight from the guy who designs the gameplay.

2) There was quite a bit of speed increase in the tapping of foward repeatedly but it does not necessarily look like an actual dash. This may change in the future based on what I told the Team.

Malone, whats good man? How was your trip? Hope you had fun. Of course you did. What your doing here is awsome and one of the most unselfish things anyones ever did on this site. Too bad you have to read all those stupid questions over and over. "Are noob Smoke still together?" "Does Scorpion have his MKD costume?" "Will Chameleon/Kameleon be in the game?" "Is Chess and puzzle coming back?" lol.

Anyway I hope Havik still has Snake Style and Mileena still has Muan Chan that way we can still have those classic battles. I got only one question for ya if you dont mind.

That question mark at the bottom of the select screen. Does that let you hide your cursur? Random should be Up+Start.

Also get your ass back online for some more beatings. Take it easy. You dont have to answer nonsense questions. lol
