I found a DC character that would fit better than any othercharacter in DC, even better than batman. ITs V from V from Vendetta, hes got all the qualities to fit, hes gotr a dark history, he knows martial arts, he has some super powers like strength and reflexes, and above all hes a very gory character. V is perfect for this game And i hope he is in it. what do other ppl think?

As thoroughly covered in the weeks leading up to the game's announcement, he isn't a DC Universe character, and if I'm not mistaken, is not DC's property to license freely.
I can't imagine Alan Moore and David Lloyd signing off on a Mortal Kombat "versus" game. Given the literary significance of the series and the reverence with which it's held, I couldn't imagine DC signing off on it either, even if it was theirs to do so.
For better or worse, the Vertigo characters are usually reserved for a more exclusive audience. I don't think a game like this would garner the concessions of a movie, given the niche fanbase.

V's creator wasn't too happy a V For Vendetta movie was made, if I recall correctly.
I doubt he allows his character to be entered in a video game.

V is not part of the main DCU. Just like the Watchmen they only exist within their own universe.

Yeah, I brought up this idea a month ago lol with V and Constantine from teh Vertigo series being cool characters to see in MK8 but Constantine isn't really that much of a fighter, he has that darkness about him though.
V would kick ass personally, I also would be for Terry McGinnis making the cut but since the original Batman is already in it, I doubt it...would make a cool DC unlockable though

I think V would be perfect in the MK Environment, Just think of it for a second. He has that sick Violent look.

V was on DC's vertigo imprint, he isnt apart of the DCU.

And V for Vendetta began life in a small press anthology comic called Warrior, from defunct British company, Quality Comics.
To the best of my knowledge Moore and Lloyd signed away their publishing rights when they completed the series with DC, but still retain control over licensing agreements.

Do you really think 'not being a part of the REAL DC universe' is a problem? He's a hell of a lot closer to it than the MK characters!

Which part of Mortal Kombat versus DC Universe is confusing you?

The game is called Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe, so V being used as a character is very unlikely, as whilst he is a licensed DC character, he is not included in the DC Universe, as he was originally created by Vertigo, and isn't in the same storyline continuity as Superman, batman etc who regularly cross over into each others stories. If he is included it would be as a secret character but I can't see it happening to be honest, too much effort for DC to go to when it has plenty of other characters it could use, which is a shame but never mind.

Yeah, its too bad about V, because he would definately fit well. Speaking of such things, this is what I love about Constantine. Not only he is Vertigo and basically has his own universe (in a way) like V, but he also makes appearances in the main DCU. Of course he's not a fighter so he'd never be in the game.

Yeah, that's what I was saying earlier. Constantine is badass though in his own way. V would be cool but it won't happen...

Out of interest, what makes people think V is such a great fit for Mortal Kombat, other than seeing him twirl knives in a movie?
He's a very insular character to his own story. Is specifically motivated by events derived from that story, even if there is a much broader message, and he has far fewer connections with the fantastic qualities of MK universe than the DC heroes and villains.
As simple a response as issues of ownership an branding distinctions are; I'd put the isolation of the character and story down to good writing and common sense, more than branding.
Martial artists are a dime-a-dozen in the DC Universe; killers, good and bad, are on hand for selection, with a variety of methods and weapons; and for a Shadow-inspired anti-establishment figure, one need look no further than Batman, martial arts and urban warfare included.
With the conceptual argument weighted in favour of not soiling the V character; what exactly makes him so much better a choice than the pantheon of actual DC Universe properties?...

first of for what i Know batman does not have definite personaloty troughout the passage between comics and media:for what i remember(i might be wrong tough) in some stuff Batman is showed like a martial artitsist, which can kill if pushed to extreme limits,is dark,a bit mad(not a psycho, but almost). In other media he seems less dark and more kind-hearted,solar,classic hero attitude and most imporant he seems less a fighter and more a gadget guy.
He have a dark appearance, dark attitude but it's not very different from the "classic hero" aka Superman.
Instead look at V...
he is hero and anti-hero,he is always the same:a poet,a magician,a philosopher, lover of freedom and anarchy but he is also a martial artist,a fighter at 360 degrees,he seems to be determinated,he have only a goal in his mission. He s not the generic hero guy"FIGHT AGAINST CRIME",V FIGHTS AGAINST POLITICS!
This is the huge difference:Batman in is way is stereotypical(maybe because he is one of the older heroes of the comic book history) V is the originality personification.
He also refers to an ancient historical fact, the Guy Fawks plot,Batman is merely created by fantasy(which there is nothing worng).
also the universe of V is mature, darker even more than the batman one.
of course i think you don't get the point:we just want V,ì in the game and he fits better than a lot of other DC heroes guys(like aquaman...bleah,green arrow, etc).Of course Btaman is the most iconic character,so Batman presence is out of discussion.
but with all the respect DC is plenty of idiotical heroes, and V would fit better than them in the game.
of course, being realistical,i doubt V will make the cut, even tough it will be a huge add to the game and it could improve the sellings of the game, which i doubt, right now,are expected to be high.
