Have you ever heard of the story of "Beauty and the Beast"??? is it "wrong" for Bell to be in love with a beast??? whats wrong with Li Mei being in love with Onaga???
Anyway, I love her ending. I hope its true. Maybe she could be the new sub-boss in the next installment.

Like a few people have said, EVERY character has endless potential to be awesome characters if they bothered to put the effort in rather than the half assed copied stories, moves and styles that's been going on lately. They've all got a place for the future now just by simply having shown up at all.
That said, we've all got our preferences for who we'd like to see return. I think for at least one game, preferably MK7, they should bring the focus back directly to saving Earthrealm. It sounds like Raiden is well and truly on the path to losing it, and I think that would be a great fresh approach to take for the next game. The good guys defeated Onaga, so let's leave Outworld in disarray and without a ruler for this game, in fact, let's leave Outworld out almost entirly. Likeiwse too, the other realms for the most part. Let's bring our focus back to Earth for just a little while.
So Raiden is getting a little tough on things for comfort, and it's not looking like a good thing for Earth if it keeps up. Banding together, warriors confront Raiden with their concerns, and the thunder god just get cranky about it. So now it's on, Raiden is going to make them see things his way, even mocks them by doing in it tournament style, a new Mortal Kombat. The good guys are reluctantly going to have to take down their former ally.
So who's gonna be around for this one? Here's who I'd prefer, not nessecarily a full cast, but potential ones
To Defend Earth,
Fujin - Clearly he'd be unhappy and perhaps saddened with Raiden's new situation. The Earth Warriors have banded together under Fujin's guidance.

Obviously this can't be a full roster, but just ideas for those who most likly fit the suggested story. Now, even though AL characters have the potential to be something awesome, I do have some I'd prefer never to see again, or at least for a long time.
Shang Tsung, Quan Chi and Lui Kang - This lot has had their time. Kang especially.
Frost, Kobra, Darrius, Dairou - These guys need a serious reworking if they're to return.
Kira - Unless she comes back 100% original, she can go away forever.

Enemy agents pretending to be allied to the group they've infiltrated - Ok, now that it's been done, leave the idea alone for awhile now because this type of story gets really old really quick
Thats about it for my little rant. Hm, this was fun. Actually, I'm gonna develope a full story and character list. Keep an eye out in the Fan forum section for further details over the coming week.

Return:
Raiden - Vintage.
Scorpion - Vintage.
Sub-Zero - Vintage, although I would like to see Frost in his place rather than experimented outfits.
Mileena - My favorite MK character, of course I want her to return, lol j/k. I think a return of Mil, Baraka, Sindel, and Jade would gain a very favorable response to the fans...Especially if Kitana was there. could be quite interesting.
Baraka - Refer to Mileena.
Nightwolf - Never has or will be one of my favorite character but I do think the devs have done a good job with a native american styled character.
Sindel - Refer to Mileena.
Ermac - Original teleporter better storyline and look than Kenshi.
Li Mei - Li kinda got a disservice in DA and I don't think the story arch in MKD makes up for it.
Ashrah - A new character that does show decent potential to have a lasting story. I'm curious to see where it goes and don't want to have to wait for 2 titles to be released to see it.
Havik - I think this character has the potentiasl to be one of the better evil aligned characters. I think, not sure, I like where this character has the ability to go.
Jade - Refer to Mileena.
Noob Saibot - Return if solo.
Smoke - Return if solo.
Tanya - For Tanya its all about attitude. It fits her and I'd like to see it strengthen in the next MK title.
Kira - I like this character but she needs some plastic surgery for that face and maybe some hair dye to not look so much like Bloodrayne.

Liu Kang - R.I.P. anyone else agree?
Kenshi - Either needs a revamp or more fluid fighting look. Presently Ermac is the better choice for a telepathic character.
Shujinko - A decent looking character with to many specials from other characters. In one of the videos he is refered to as the replacement for Liu Kang, maybe because he is good, but it seems more like Shang. I'd like to see him gone and the return Shang.
Hotaru - To be a Captain or leader of anything you should be able to kick a whole hell of a lot more ass than he can.
Dairou - Similar situation as with Hotaru.
Darrius - Have not found anything to like about this character to date.
Kobra - Decent attempt at using similar characteristics of the old Johnny Cage, however I would have like to have seen a character who in themselves looked and felt a bit different.
Bo' Rai Cho - Make this character a bit more serious and I think that he might become tollerable.
Kabal - With his present fight style I would not like to see a return for Kabal.
Its not that all of the characters on the die list are terrible I just dont enjoy these characters or their stories, whether truth or not in the MK universe.

i think they should bring back Noob Saibot and Smoke, rain,(all the ninjas in general) frost and kung lao was good too. can anyone tell me if sonya is in mortal kombat decption? i really like using her in deadly alliance, and i am getting decption very soon.

Well, yes, Li Mei did wear pink and use the Sais, but that doesn't really make her a Mileena replacement. Same thing with Ermac and Kenshi. Sure they both wear red and black and they both have telekinetic powers, but still, Kenshi was not a replacement for Ermac.

Must keeps are all members of the original characters from MK 1 plus Kitana, Mileena, Jade, etc (the gorgeous ladies).
Must get rid of: Kobra - looks like an obvious (and BAD) rip off from Street Fighter to me
Another elimination candidate is Dairou. Only way he should be back is a major boost in fighting skills. This after I thoroughly annhilated him with Baraka on the same night that I started playing with Baraka.

If Ed Boon reads this then he deffinitely needs to bring back Kano and Shao Kahn as i am getting pretty tired of lame ass do gooders and Bad guys who are not really bad at all they are just wussies whose parents spoiled or beat them as brats.............except for Baraka though he is the only cool bad guy in Deception. Of course i don't want to force Ed or anything afterall it is his game.....and what a good game it is too (man i am such a creep).

let's say if the next mk has like 40 characters my choices would be (ignoring the history)
1 scorpion - keep the ninja look for his primay, skull with chains look for his alt
2 sub zero - keep both outfits from deception do some touch ups, lose his voice, put a more "cold" voice
3 raiden - keep the dark look, redo his alt...keep the mkda intro voice
4 baraka - returns with his mk4 outfit, with more blades coming out of his body and everytime he makes his blades coming out, make the skin open in that place, kinda like wolverine
5 kitana - retuns with her mkda outfit has her primary, lose her fighting styles, give her new cool ones
6 mileena - keep her mkd outfit
7 ermac - keep his primary with just a few touch ups, then make his alt shirtless, with holes on his body and whe can see a green light coming out of his body from the holes, keep the multi voice but with more voices
8 rain - returns unmasked in both outfits imo
9 noob saibot - returns with his 100% black ninja look but with cool googles imo, kinda like voldo had back in soul blade, make his alt the hooded one and make his weapon the scythe
10 smoke - keep his cyborg look but make him look like a steam machine with steam coming out of his mouth etc etc
11 reptile - returns in his classic green ninja outfit but with lizard skin and lizard eyes and a tail
12 kung lao - return with his mk3 outfit and the hat in the head in both outfits
13 jade - returns with her cammy look and masked for her primary, keep her arabic look for her alt, make her weapon that 3 section staff
14 fujin - keep the mk4 look, add a cape and make him float instead of walking
15 sektor - make him look like a predator combined with the ninja from mgs
16 kai - pirate look with those large pirate swords, and full of scars
17 reiko - keep the shurikens, keep the black paint on his face, make his eyes all dark blue, and make a cool outfit for him
18 kabal - keep his alt in mkd as his primary but with a more robotized mask, make a psycho mantis outfit for his alt, make his voice exactly like psycho mantis
19 nightwolf - keep his primary, lose his alt
20 stryker - make the swat look as his primary but not like that guy above pictured, make a cooler mask, and a all black outfit and gear, for his alt give him a trenchcoat, a cigarrete, unshave him, make him wear those detective belt thingys that hold the weapons, give him a badass voice kinda like steven seagal, and give him pshysical specials
20 kenshi - leave him as he is right now, couldn't be more badass
21 tanya - leave her as she is too, she's just to bitch to be out of the game lol
22 frost - make her wear a non lin kuei outfit, some parts of her body should be pure ice, like her hair, her eyes, her teeth and her nails
23 blaze - cool character imo, keep the mkda outfit for his alt, for his primary make a knight outfit covering him up, but give the "burning iron" feel to the armor, give him a giant sword, like siegfried from soul calibur has
24 mavado - keep his primary, lose those elastic things he has, give him a sword for his weapon
25 ashrah - just redo her hat
26 hotaru - just lose that stupid kick special and give him more physical specials
27 kobra - lose all his specials, make him have those hadoukens, shoryukens cool specials
28 kira - keep her, just lose her sonya specials, make her have different ones
29 havik - leave him and make his weapon his arm, kinda like medievil
30 dairou - give him those "way of the samurai" look, I just love that outfit tom cruise had, make him one kinda like that, lose his specials as well, make him have those naruto attacks, with chi and things like that
31 jarek - give him a badass look, kinda like those motards, lose his kano specials
32 jax - lose the getto feel, make him more violent, and make him look kinda like cable, with a bionic eye, kinda like a virus
33 li mei - returns as she is right now
34 liu kang - keep the zombie look and the turkey voice
35 quan chi - keep the tatoos, give him the mkd intro specials, like the wall of skulls and things like that
36 sindel - just leave her as she is, gorgeous

Definitely, those characters who has the most potential should be kept. No MK would selll, if they wouldn't have Sub-Zero and Scorpion within it.
As for the others. There are several characters who need to retire, but put-ting characters offis kinda difficult since MKDA and MKD (they both happen almost in the same time, the two games are one storyline basicly).
So, Bo Rai Cho could be left from the roster, but not from the storyline. He is the overall leader of the earthrealm defenders (ergo, if you have followed the interwiews and press releases concerning MK and Midway, you can co-unt on it, that Fujin won't return, or at least not the Fujin we know).
Kenshi is problematic, since he's one of the new generation warriors, who will eventually replace Kung Lao and Sonya and the others.
Johnny Cage is certainly overused, and Midway gave him the most twisted explanations for: why is Cage fighting nad how did he come back to life?
The secret or palette swap characters will never make it into the future games (no Meat, the skeleton and flesh character is Havik, no need for another one) -but wait! MKD has several secret chars. in the roster: Noob, Smoke, Jade and even the palette swap Ermac (explanation: Ermac was considered as a mainstream char. but with difficulties and with the release of MK trilogy he became a present, but a not significant warrior. It took them untill the release of MKD to fully create Ermac-ergo, no Rain is possible-explanatory later)
All new MK games rosters will consist from at least 2/3 classic warriors and MINIMUM! 1/3 new faces. Why? Simple: marketing strategy. A whole lot of you people will be pleased by youtr favourites in one game, but those who are looking for something "fresh" will be teribly dissapointed. And in our current marketing strategy systems (referring to the AIDA model) that would be a terrible mistake! All video game releases/buyers have at least 1/3 of newbies to the genre (the 2/3 are us, the hardcore MK fans). And pleasing 2/3 of the potential buyers is a bankrupt idea.
I could be going through this for hours, but I won't. Suffice to say, that the current model will survive in future games. But keep in mind, that MK7 will have possibly a 35-40 character roster.
So, either way we win!

Okay... Here's what I think should be the true conclusion to Deception - it kinda fits in with the subject:
Mileena (posing as Kitana) instructs 'Bo Rai Cho (with assistance from Li Mei) to lead the Edenian forces in battle against the Tarkatans. Cho defeats Baraka, who escapes, suspicious of Mileena. Li Mei is mysteriously drawn towards Onaga's location.
Mileena's ending continues as in game.
Baraka's ending.
Hotaru (with the help of some Tarkatan warriors) slays Darrius and his militia. Onaga gives Hotaru an important mission - assasinate Sub-Zero. On his way to complete his task, the alone and vulnerable Hotaru is confronted by Dairou, who reveals he has been hired by Darrius to kill him. Hotaru kills Dairou, but is weakened significantly.
Kenshi's ending.
Jade's ending. Jade leaves to meet Sindel.
Sub-Zero's ending.
Kira's ending. Kabal and Kira return to Earthrealm.
Ashrah's ending. Ashrah journeys to Edenia. Noob escapes with the malfunctioning Smoke.
Scorpion embarks on his journey to defeat Onaga - he has been informed by the Elder Gods to destroy Onaga's heart.
Before he can reach Onaga, Scorpion is defeated by Shujinko.
Jade and Sindel accompany Ermac and Spirit Liu to Onaga's HQ. Jade does battle with Kitana. Sindel and Ermac kombat the resurrected warriors Johnny Cage, Sonya, Jax and Kung Lao. Eventually, Spirit Liu is able to free all five from Onaga's mind control. A confused Li Mei shows Shujinko the way to Onaga's temple. Meanwhile, a futile struggle between the all-powerful Onaga and the good guys takes place. Li Mei and Shujinko arrive and join the battle. Li Mei realises she loves Onaga and turns on her former allies - fearing the worst, Onaga transports Li Mei to safety, but not before whispering something in her ear. Sindel urges her fellow warriors to confer their combined power unto Shujinko. With his new power, Shujinko easily destroys the Dragon King, leaving his corpse where it lies. Shujinko is considerably weakened by this, and sits down to rest a while. Mission accomplished, Jade, Kitana and Sindel leave the Earthrealm warriors and return to Edenia. Ermac decides to start a new life in Earthrealm with his new friends. Having just arrived in Outworld, Raiden shows up - the Earthrealm warriors assume he wants to congratulate Shujinko on a job well done. He has captured the reanimated corpse of Liu Kang - he fuses both of Liu's forms together with an intense barrage of electricity. Liu is human once more. Raiden then approaches the wounded and weary Shujinko. He helps Shujinko to his feet, then the Earthrealm warriors look on in horror as Raiden reduces Shujinko to dust and a couple of charred limbs. Raiden disappears - the confused Earthrealm warriors return home.
Havik's ending now happens.
Noon Saibot achieves his goal of ruling the Netherrealm with his army of demon cyborgs. The obsolete Smoke is shut down.
Nightwolf fell down some stairs and died.

Someone who was not stereotypical for the MK characters was Hotaru, Dairou but they need a lot of improvement. They finally introduced some of the japanese concept characters into the series.
Havik was bad-ass, Keep him alongside with the above mentioned couple. They bring a refreshing storyline.
Kill off Tanya if her concept doesn't change. Betraying everyone. The survivor type character in the series is Scorpion. And goddamn make her look decent, not like a whore from who knows where >(
Definitely kill off Liu Kang. Make her a friendly spirit, he did his time. His reappearance was his grand finale, please.
Retire JAx and Cage, they also did their time. They are lovable, but time must go on. Also don't bring back Kano, since he was such a bad-ass character, that he deserves to rest now.
Kai-unoriginal. A middle-east warrior who's a wannabe shaolin?I know that the Persian and Indian areas have close ties in history with the Himalayas, but he was ridiculous. (with a japanese name, leave him)
those who are dead, should remain dead. there is no drama if everyone keeps cvoming back by ressurection or as an undead ghost or spectre or as a wrath whatever...

I think this is the perfect roster for MK 7, and as u see, i didnt add so many new characters to enter the MK world.......
I think that it the story should go from where Onaga dies and Havik takes his heart and revives Shao Kahn, so that Shao Kahn can be the baddie again. Here, Shao Kahn would be worst then ever after al the deception and after his early failures. But anywayz, heres the list of characters that should return or be in this game, if i had a lil idea for i certain character, i put it so yea.......i think this is the perfect roster

Mileena took Jade and Sindel hostage, and challenged Kitana in Mortal Kombat, and Kitana was left dead. Mileena sent Kitana's body to be burned, but Kitana's soul still wandered around. She later found Mileena's dead corpse and reunited her soul with Mileena's body. Now, Kitana has to prove to everyone that she isn't Mileena, since she is living with Mileena's ugly face..........

Sindel later found Mileena running away from her failures and attacked her, until Shao Kahn interfered.........

She later ran away so that Shao Kahn won't find her, but she was ambushed by Sindel whom she fought with, until Shao Kahn and Baraka interfered. Mileena was taken back to Shao Kahn's lair and she begged for mercy, but Shao Kahn killed her and threw her corpse into the wastelands where Kitana's soul would find it............

Hmmmmm I dont like the whole Mileena-Kitana thing either. i also dont think Mileena will ever get to rule Edenia. i think we will be seeing both Mileena and Kitana in the next game.

o dont worry, i totally respect yur opinions and yea i think this wud be a cool twist in their storylines for mk 7........and i think Mileena will get to rule edenia, for a while at least......i just thot this was a way in which both sides won and lost.......get it????? I dont care who returns for the next game, just please make sure that Tanya is in MK7 in some shape or form, dont kill her off completely she is too vital. Tanya is a must... other than her. Scorpion, Sub-zero and Kira are great characters. I really dont care if Bo Rai Cho, Li Mei, Kenshi are in it they can take a break... I liked Nightwolf and Kabal. Mileena, well she made no difference to me... I really didn't like Mileena except her fiery attitude (her laugh whenever she won the battle)... Sindel, she is good but not great...

i think Mileena is just 100000 times better than Tanya and her story is much better......Tanya was a fun character in deception, but it doesnt compete with Mileena's........between tanya and mileena, i wud say Mileena.........just my opinion tho, Right?
