Leader: Shujinko, cause I'm good and simply by doing one combo I can dangerously hurt the enemy. If I ever have to fight with my leader I wanted to have a strong character that I'm effective with, though I needed a stronger Champion, Grunt and Sorcerer. I'm not hardcore with Shujinko.
Sorcerer: My sorcerer is Tanya, cause I must not lose any of my sorcerors, or half of my spells with be removed. At first, I chose Liu Kang, because I'm good with Liu Kang; he's BY FAR the quickest character of the entire game, and his specials are cheap and strong, but after a little practice against Max difficulty computer, I noticed I was way better with Tanya, the bad-ass manipulative biatch lol. I'm not hardcore with Tanya.
Shifter: Since I may have to challenge another shifter with my shifter, I still needed a character I could stand my ground with, so I chose Raiden. At first, I had Scorpion as shifter, because after doing his training, I realized his greatest combo and his specials moves were cool and easy for me to do. I am good with him, but still, I’m better with Raiden. I'm not hardcore with Raiden.
Champion: My champion is my second best character: Jade. I regularly attack with her, and she’s one of my four personal favourites (MILEENA, Jade, Kitana and Tanya) .. I can be dangerous with Jade, cause I know her special moves and when to use it. I also know her best and most useful combos. She’s my champion not just cause I like her a lot, but also cause she has mighty combos and can easily do around 30-40% damage. I'm not hardcore with Jade.
Grunt: I chose Mileena (not at first though, but I decided to have her for many reasons). First, having eight Mileena means a lot of practice, and I want to keep practicing with her until I’m the best I can be! Second, I just have to go on a Power Zone, and My Mileena keeps healing after each match, so having both Power Zone means almost-invincible pawns ! Also, At first I had Mileena as champion, but I put her grunt cause I don’t need a lot of health with her. Grunts have 33% health. Also, Mileena is my favourite, and I like to see her around a lot !

My leader is almost always Sub-Zero, because he was the first character I learned to use, so I can hold my own with him in case it ever came down to it.
I never venture into battle with my sorcerers, but in case I have to I use Kabal. He's strong enough and fast enough to protect himself, but never initiate combat with him. I just need someone I'm good with in case someone tries to kill him.
My champions alternate between Mileena and Noob-Smoke. They are my best two characters so one is always a grunt and one is always a champion. That way my most powerful piece is someone I've mastered and my most numerous piece is someone I've mastered. These are the only two I ever move around the board or attack with. It may sound like a defensive strategy, but I'm actually really aggressive with these two.
My shifters... I usually sacrifice them to beef up my champions or grunts. Either that or I gambit them to gain good board position. Outside of that, I don't like using them since I can't really control whether or not they'll battle someone I'm good with. So some random lamb is the slaughter of the day here. Last time I think it was Havik...
My grunts end up being Noob-Smoke or Mileena, whoever I didn't feel like using as champion today.
This team has never failed me, but then again, my friend The Fox seems confused when we play, and girlfriend.... well she's a very girly girl, let's leave it at that. So that just leaves the computer. Computers suck.

Leader: LK or Scorp...
Champion: Subzero. Mr perfect, IMO... Perfect character in chess cos he is defensively sound and opponents have to attack as champions start with full health and a time out would result in a win for the champion. And subzero punishes any reckless attackers. Not the best character, but starting in Kori and utilising range with ice clone results in lots of perfect victories even over humans. Played well, the opponent would not even land a hit on sub.
Sorceror: Raiden.
Shifter: Kira
Grunt: Noobsmoke. IMO the best character in this game. Better than dairou. Better than LK and scorp. Cheaper than Brc or raiden. Unpredictable offence added to infinity combos... Piece of cake

Grunt: Sub-Zero - He's my best character, so I feel that I should have the most of him. As long as I can get to a power cell with atleast one of my Sub pieces I feel like I am in good shape.
Sorcerer: Liu Kang - One of my better characters, and a solid character overal. Very hard to fight no matter who you are for the most part. The most offensively sound character in the game to me. I like his position at sorcerer. I try not to move him so I can maintain my team with spells without fearing a bomb.
Champion: Noob-Smoke - Perfect character to protect Scorpion for me. My second best character, and one of the best in the game, I clean house with Noob-Smoke.
Shifter: Li Mei - One of my best characters, but tier was of the 5 on my squad I consider her to be the worse, so just in case I'm up against a powerhouse character like Bo or Scorpion I like to have her at the shifter spot.
Leader: Scorpion - One of the best in the game, and my 3rd best character. I feel he's best as a leader simply because He has the least bad match ups in MKD besides Bo Rai Cho and Dairou(and I don't like either of them.), and I feel if shit is on the line(which is the case most the time when the leader is fighting) I can hold my ground best with him.
When I get to playing online, if there is a lot of bullshit I'll use Bo Rai Cho as my grunt and change Sub-Zero to sorcerer.

I have two perfect teams:
The regular team I use whenever I play a regular game of chess utilizing all the pieces.

Now the other team is when I want to make a lot of money. I've had the chess game up to max difficulty since the first day I got it and this is when I want to make a lot of gold/platinum koins.

Grunt - Scorpion
I just bring Jade out and put one of my shifters on a green cell and I put Jade on the other power cell and then I just wait for everyone to attack my leader because when you make your leader available when the comp is on max difficulty, the comp is so much more aggressive and I get so much koins when my leader defeats their pieces. Whenever they stop attacking me I just go after them with Jade. I always get a flawless/annihilation like this.
