I agree with you 100% on the Scorp issue, and how it gets old quick... but were you and KF randoming? Cause when I random, I kind of have to pull any and everything out of my arse I can to win the match. (knawaimsayin?) When I random Darrius, whore 'dem gauntlets! When I random Kobra, fireball city! When I random Kira... well, I'm usually f*cked, (LOL) but you probably see my point.
That's all. Picking a character on purpose and whoring techniques =/= randoming those characters and whoring techniques. In fact, if you random against me, I'm a slut - do anything you want. If you have the knowledge to do so, then that's even more impressive.

Well anyone who uses that tactic cant call themself a good scorpion player since anyone can pick up that shit and abuse it.
As for Dairou, yea the tombstone drop is his main move since he has only 1 good pop up but that doesnt mean I have to abuse it tha whole match. I can win with Dairou using only 2 tombstone drops per round if my side stepping is working for me.

Don't forget who you're talking to. These guys care more about winning than having fun playing the game. Why do you think most of them know how to F3 with Bo? Because they do it when they can't win any other way. That's even more boring than the hellfire addicts. Anyway, like i always say, if you don't like playing someone, say NO, and play someone else if you can't figure out a way to beat them. Or do what Red Saleen does and learn every glitch in the game so you can show them that you can go to their level and below even!

i had no holds barred w. xboxgamepro ,, 24-18 me ... would hav been alot more if he had death traps off. he ended up quitting in the middle of a game cause darth bo came out, and the flawless s were starting to mount up.

I agree with Alexei,unless your opponent is doing an infinite with that character,there's no reason why you can't avoid it.Same for Dairou,i feel that i have one of the best Dairous online,i use the TS,i also mix is up a bit,you have to come in close,fool your opponent,at times,get distance do your thing if you have to.But i would only recommend the distance game with Dairou only if you MUST.Meaning play the Dairou distance game with him,if your opponent is A.Abusing infinites,B.Abuses the fat bastard Bo or C.Move before the round to try to get the edge.If your opponent attempts either of these loser tactics,then in my book,you're getting the Dairou distance game.
Like Alexei said earlier,the character has moves to use them,if it doesn't lead into any infinites,then there's nothing to complain about,just my opinion.

It's not that there isn't a way out of it. The thing that annoys some people about the Scorpion shit is that if you get caught by that sword, if played properly (spear, eye gauge, hellfire) Then Scorpion has the opportunity to hit you again before you can hit him because he's already standing there while you're agonizing from the fire. So, now after losing a lot of your life from the first attack, Scorpion has another 50/50 comin' atcha. And it's actually worse because he can hit you high, hit you low, or hellfire again. so now you have a 33 and 1/3% chance of escaping the next attack. If he hits you (And he has over a 66% chance of doing so...) The pattern starts allllll overrrrr again and there goes another big chunk of your life and the he can do it again after that. You guys act like you're so high and mighty laughing at this guy because he's frustrated... But those are the numbers and you can't really say much about em. You can say there are other options (Maybe pushing up or down) But any high or low attack that close will hit you. Since there are so many of you talking this trash, it must not be a huge secret how you marvels would get out of it, so why don't you share? NOW, after saying all that, I'm sure some of you will still say it's all fair, and yes it is... I agree, it is fair. BUT, just like he said, it's annoying and not fun. So, whatever... Everyone plays for different reasons. I'm very competitive like most of you here and I keep playing people that do stuff like this over and over and over (Yes Saleen, I know I do the telekenitc lift a lot, but it's a lot harder to get that initial lift to start it off then it is to hit someone with a sword swipe from scorp.) because I want to try and combat them... I just think abusers of one series of moves that start off with a Bo staff swipe or a scorpion sword swipe aren't playing to have fun. They are rank whores and only care about winning. I know how to do that Scorpion crap... I just choose not to. It's 3 moves and it's not even fun doing it. But to each their own. I understand his point of view for not liking it, and I understand the people that say it's fair point of view. Everyone wants to be the best, and these guys are right about one thing. People that truely study this the way these guys do, and want to be THE BEST are not going to have as much fun as the other type of person on here because honestly it gets kind of old really fast. So what's he supposed to do? Start playing scorpion and see who can get the first sword swipe in? FUNNNNNNNN

Red,i can play Dairou with limited TS drops man,the fact is i have only played four people online that can play Bo legit,and thats MK_Online Freak,Smoke LK,Konqrr and some guy named Sefillote or something like that,everyone else once they see my Ermac they run to Bo,so i go to Dairou,simple as that.
All the PS2 guys should make a deal with all the XBOX guys,if certain guys go over to another system to face someone in particular,then that player that was originally there should return the favor if he or she can.
Example if say Alexei goes over to the PS2 to face Yoza,then the next time Yoza should come over to the xbox.You guys see my point

On the PS2,I ENCOURAGE people to use Bo and f+3/Throw me because I like good challenges.You may think it's a glitch,which it is,but it's also high level play and that's how you play Bo (or Scorp) the most effectively.

dave ill be on sat, i hav to unlock my characters tommorrow. i want bo vs dariou matches. mkf use as many t/s drops as u want, the more the merrier. i dont run to bo, i use bo vs any dariou, and random matches. also if people sit in weapon stance with scorp and ermac ill pull out some bo, cause if u can use a weapon the whole match, than im gonna. i can name plenty of people on this board who dbl standard themselves. also killer, u are saying that scorp stuff is bullshit, what diff there than the n/s unbreakable jump in 50/50 , radien teleport free throw 50/50, with scorp theres a pause after the jab before the hellfire, true thay can use 3 or jab again, thats what makes it a guessing game like the rest of the game play.
for all the people who comaplin about lil thing, when u hate something do what i do, mirror match them and do the same thing back.

Good points, Killer B. Lots of little secrets and tips to getting any character in this game down solid. A few people here are really great about sharing their techniques and giving pointers... a few others seem to like to hoard their knowledge, but that's fine. To each their own.
Chubbs would say it's all in the hips. I say it's all in the timing. As a random player, I've noticed how slowing down and taking the time out to really dissect a few characters is well worth the time. In relation to the topic, IMO Scorp is one where timing is of utmost importance.

I actually agree with what Killer B said here, something I noticed earlier. Dairou, and to a lesser extent Bo, Scorpion and Ermac, don't have 50/50 but 33/33/33 games (it's a bit faint in Ermac or Bo's case since it's pretty easy to see their unblockables coming).
That is why Scorpion is so overpowering up close. If you're facing a player who has memorised three moves (hellfire, sweep and throw) and mixes them up constantly without you guessing correctly, you're dead. Same goes for Dairou, except that he is truly the most dangerous 33/33/33 character because the TS drop comes out ultra-fast and you can't sidestep it. You have to guess your opponent is going to do it before it comes out. That's basically what makes MKD such a crap game.

i still dont see what the prob is here with scorp. block high alwasy that simple. u will take some ground fires, so what, they sweep u can roll out of the way after a sweep to avoid a ground fire. only beef i hav with scorp is when they stay in weapon stance, in weapon stance u hav to eat to many ground fires to protect the f1.

Hahah... no prob, but I disagree with your last statement. The games have done nothing but gotten better. There have always been annoyances like this. Many may have not run into them like they do here because here you can play 30 people in a few hours. At the arcade it was pretty much the same 10 people (at best) and when you have this many people learning from so many other people, glitches become rampant. For instance, I used to play MK1 every single day with my buddy at the arcade... We were THE BEST (In our minds) because no one else won as many games as we did. Then these two kids came in one day and they did this weird thing that we had never seen before with kano of all people. I don't remember exactly what they were doing, but it was this strategy where they wouldn't move towards you at all... They would crouch. Then if you walked near them they did this weird kick move. It wasn't a foot sweep, it was more of a foot tap. So we tried jump kicking them... This little foot tap actually knocked you out of the air we find out. We tried fire balls, freezing, everything. Most of these moves went right over kano's crouching head. so we tried doing everything else in the game that we could. They couldn't be hit. A glitch? Probably no more than what these Scorpion whores are doing... But at the time it seemed very unfair. Of course we could've picked kano and crouched too, but this leads us right back to where we were before about not having fun. Anyway, my point of this long ass story is MK games have never been perfect... And now, with the number of experiences you get online, and the zillion moves this has over the original, of course these cheap tactics are going to exist and be spread around fast. You can fall into Saleen's pattern of learning them all and glitching them back, or just accept that you're not the type of person that enjoys playing opponents like this and move on. There are plenty of good players that just play the game normally out there. No matter how much testing they do, there will always be a few moves that seem cheaper than other moves... People will find them and exploit them every single time.
