So far there has only been two partial confirmations of Raidens return:
1. MKO guys reading a pamplet at E3 with a number of typos on it
2. On the X-Play site mentioning he is getting his torpedo move back but this was removed after one day. Why I have no idea.
So far I believe Raiden will return, but am not 100% sure. If he does, he will most likely have the same or similiar appearences as he did in MK:DA since MK:D takes place right afterwards. Hopefully, I am wrong in regards to the primary costume since that one seemed way to heavy to fight in and made him look like some action figure. His alt. look I wouldn't mind since it was more in tune to his Shinto roots.
Hopefully, the rumor of the character regaining ALL of their moves is true. In that case the torpedo, teleport, etc will be back. Although I would hope he would at least get that thunderbolt move that Nightwolf and Rain has....sheesh! he is the GOD OF THUNDER after all. More lighting based moves would be welcomed as well. Lighting fists, charge up fighting staff, etc.
In regards to weapons, I loved the staff but wouldn't mind a return of his hammer either. Maybe in future games, characters will have a choice of weapons rather than the one.

| IF he is back I hope he brings that HUGE stick as his weapon |
It's a staff, dude.
I hope Raiden does return. He was always one of my favorites (especially after Christopher Lambert protrayed him in the movie), and his Staff style was one of my best in MKDA.

Hell yeah, Moloch was piss easy with that stick
