Im leaning towards it being Liu Kang-- this could be a reason Liu Kang returns.

The Generic Monk, Liu Kang, Ben, Sonya or Kung Lao seem most likely. Maybe even Kenshi. i wouldn't go as far as Nightwolf, although it could be a good explaination of why he is away. It would be cool if the Chosen One dies in the opening video (Sonya or Kung Lao). Or maybe the Elders don't know whether Sonya or Kung Lao is the CO?

obviously it's luikang, since they say it's his soul. they bring him back from the dead 'cause he the only one who can fight'em off.

It would be kewl to see that Sonya was left behind cuz Hsu Hao (leaving Jax out of the game) kinda like the 1st MK; which her purpose for this is that she's the chosen one!

i think its gonna be ashra considering she is a new character, and seems very close to the gods, (all this story of her being a relation to raidon) perhaps they have been training her for this sole purpose, i mortal with the power of a god, and the training of a chosen one from the gods. sounds like a winner to me.

more than likely it won't b kenshi if he was left 4 dead by mavado wot hope does he have against the dragon king, or ne of the betta playable characters 4 that matter (subby, scorpion etc.)

I beleive that the chosen one is Liu Kang. If he's been the chosen one to stop the Outworld invasion many times, why doesn't he is the chosen one to stop the great and true emperor of that realm?

I think the chosen one will be Ben. Boon probably decided a new character should be the chosen one instead of Liu Kang.

Well, my guess is Subzero, mostly because if he was the chosen one, that would explain his new look. He looks like a chosen one, on many different levels.

But keep in mind, peeps. We still don't know why Lui Kang is back from the dead. Raiden isn't here anymore to bring him into Kombat, so perhaps the reason he is back is because the elder God's chose him to return and save existance. Just my theory.

I hope it isn't Liu Kang.Give him a break,he saved earthrealm enough.He needs to take his well deserved rest and let somebody else handle it.
I like the idea of Subby being the chosen one.Mabye Liu Kang could help Subby or something.

I agree with you. Subzero definately looks like a chosen one, especially with his new look. No one is really certain yet, but aside from thinking its subzero, i'm guessing it might be kung lao.

It's so going to be Sub-Zero. It's about time.

Well, I will be very very dissapointed if Sub-Zero, liu kang, scorpion AND KUNG LAO become champions.

Like many said: Its predictable, and its boring, and some like my fave (scorpi) just dont fit for that.

I like other sugestions very much. Like Sonya and Kenshi. Sonya has a high chance I think. She has always been there.

I'm almost certain that this "chosen one" will be a character that will just come clear out of left field. A character that no one would even think to even consider...

Maybe a good native of Outworld such as Li Mei?

Perhaps a reformed Black Dragon member, Kira?

Maybe even the demon hunter, Ashra?

Most likely though, it'll be the created character you make in Konquest.

It's too tough to tell and even harder to guess since we don't know the storyline anyway. Perhaps more light will be shed on this at E3.

Hmmm.... I think The_Truth hit it on the head. If it doesn't turn out to be Sub-Zero because of his obvious tie-ins with the Dragon Medallion storyline, then it will definitely be the created character.

Which would be interesting, but might make it difficult to do the storyline easily in future MKs...

I hope it's Liu Kang, once again! Woohoo! Ok, sorry, am just a very big Kangster fan.
