Granted. I'm not here to tell you not to like Scorpion. He's a badass w/o a doubt. But to say he's more badass then DS is an understatement. It would be close in a fight. These two know their stuff.

Deal. Now, tell me are you impressed with what ya seen from scorp in this game yet? If so, what's been the best thing that interested you?
Very actually.....his new self blazing move looks to be great to keep enemies from trying to smother him. I also saw a video where he actually follows that move up with the spear. Not too sure if it's one of those special button timing moves where you get to string two special attacks in a row....but it should allow for some serious punishment.

I'll go with Deathstroke.
I haven't found Scorpion exciting in a long time.

Im definately going to want to play deathstroke..... but Ima Scorpion fanboy. So Scorpion it is.
1. How many people could kill a badass like Sub-Zero?
2. How many could have had the slightest chance of killing the younger Subby?
3. You have to be one bad Mofo to live in Hell
4. He was forever changed into a weapon of mass destruction by the Elder Gods.(I realize he didnt do their bidding tho)
5. His heads on Fu*kn fire
6.You can beat him but you cant kill him so he will find a way to kill deathstroke eventually if he doesnt do it the first time.
7. Scorpions got some good pics himself. Fighting the dragon king, fight drahmin and moloch, video of him fighting quan chi was cool as hell
I dont know deathstroke very well, but I like his look. Maybe yall could give some info on him

First things first:
Powers:
Deathstroke is a highly trained mercenary and is an expert marksman and martial artist.
Enhanced Abilities: Deathstrokes strength, agility and endurance have all been enhanced to superhuman levels.
Heightened Senses: Deathstrokes senses have all been enhanced by the experimental treatment he received.
Healing: Deathstroke has a personal healing factor that allows him to recover his health much faster than normal. As a result of his healing factor Deathstroke doesn’t age at the normal rate.
Weapons: Deathstroke uses an assortment of weapons. He is usually equipped with two .44 Magnums, a long barrel Colt .45, an energy sword and a power staff.
Equipment: Deathstroke also has Nightvision lenses and various climbing and surveillance gear.
Origin:
At 16, Slade Wilson lied about his age to enter the army, making a name for himself while serving in Korea. Becoming a legend in the army, Wilson was on a tour of duty in Vietnam when he volunteered for an experimental treatment to increase soldiers’ resistance to truth serum. Unfortunately, Wilson reacted adversely to the process and he began losing the ability to walk and talk. After being sent home, he realised that his strength and reflexes were improving every day, but the effect was unstable. He would have super powers one day and be virtually catatonic the next. Eventually the process stabilised and Wilson’s heightened abilities remained intact. He used his abilities to become the mercenary known as Deathstroke: The Terminator.

I don't know man, cool art (lighting, colors, etc.) can make almost any character appear badass. I'm not saying Deathstroke isn't, I'm jus' sayin'...
I'd like to think some of us here on MKO have done some pretty intense depictions of the mighty Scorpion over the years... far more brooding than any art from Midway.
Nice picks btw!.. the sliced bag of groceries is a nice touch!
I think my response to the initial question goes without saying.

I'm all for the implied powers of Scorpion, but when it comes down to it, his career highlights are being killed and/or jerked around.
When it comes to comparisons, Deathstroke's spent a couple of decades in print being the killer and the jerk. MK's never really been great at fulfilling or communicating the potential of their characters.
When it comes to a tangible comparison... Deathstroke wins!
And hey, everyone knows the unwritten law of lazy fiction is to take full advantage of a character who can be wounded, maimed, or killed without lasting consequence. Scorpion's a ready-made bitch for any character to slaughter, let along a character defined by his super-brain capacity and it's ability to formulate and execute deadly attacks with devestating precision.
[Deathstroke's "healing factor" is overblown by misreadings of Wikipedia information. He isn't Wolverine -- another super-healing jobber.]

About Me
When some wild-eyed, eight-foot-tall maniac grabs your neck, taps the back of your favorite head up against the barroom wall, and he looks you crooked in the eye and he asks you if ya paid your dues, you just stare that big sucker right back in the eye, and you remember what ol' Jack Burton always says at a time like that: "Have ya paid your dues, Jack?" "Yes sir, the check is in the mail."

Jack Burton would like to weigh in on the matter at hand...
First and foremost, being an MK fan, I'm natually inclined to side with Scorpion on this one. I've read all the posts made here thus far, and I must say I'm impressed with what I've read about Deathstroke. I admit I'm not as well versed with a lot of the comic book universe as I am with the MK universe, so I'd definitely be willing to give Deathstroke a try in this game. I think he'll be awesome if everything everyone is saying shines through in the game.
However, hardly anyone (if no one) I've seen mentioned a particular trait about ol' Scorpion in relation to a confrontation with Deathstroke. I would like to throw it out there by summing it up in one word: UNDEAD. Scorpion is undead, and from what I gather Deathstroke isn't. Sure, he "doesn't age at the normal rate" and whatnot, but that fact alone gives Scorpion a distinct edge.
But hey, I'll give Deathstroke a try. Who knows, I may end up liking him.
And THAT'S what Jack Burton has to say at this time.
