Lui Kang is a great character but since eveyone like him,I pretend we hate him.

I think that he is good because of moves all tying in with karate (ex: bicycle kick).

Liu Kang sucks.

I hate Liu Kang. He looks like crap. I hate his turkey-gobble voice. I hate his moves. I hate how they made him the "hero".

The only reason I like Shang Tsung and Quan Chi is because they finally finished that bastard.

I hope he is not coming back.

Not only was his voice really annoying, Midway always made him "undisputed" and beat whoever was the final boss. That got really old really fast. Deadly Alliance was a nice break from that. (pun'd)

Ok wanderer I agree with the Final boss thing and the hero thing thats the only thing I didn't like about him

Liu Kang has no charisma... He's Bruce Lee wanabee... Kung Lao would have been a better hero...

Agreed! I liked to use him but ony on MK4, but overall he is irritating and his story was just lame. His death in MKDA was very welcome!

I don't like Liu Kang because he's a bland, 1 dimensional character with a boring story that doesn't change. I don't find anything about him cool or intriguing.
I thought he was a cheap character to use and with the exception of his dragon, his fatalities were garbage.
He's the typical "hero" who's crammed down our throats, and now, to top it off, he has come back from the dead.
To me, making Liu Kang a ghost/zombie is a desperate attempt to make the Scorpion fans like Liu Kang. I'm not buying it.
IMO, Liu Kang should've stayed dead.

I don't post very often on this thread( I'm more of a silent onlooker.)I will start by saying that I respect everyone's opinions. However, given that we have seen the revived classics get completely overhauled, I believe that Liu Kang may actually have a revamped storyline. I will agree with the majority and say that he was a stagnant individual lacking any depth besides being a Bruce Lee knockoff. Maybe this has all changed. We will just have to wait and see.Until then, I say give ol' Turkey Boy a chance.

i was gonna say the same thing. i hated his plain look, and his damn beating ppls ass when he looks weak as hell. BUt if you like raidens new look, then be prepared i guarentee you guys will go crazy over kangs new look trust me it will be BADASS when u see it. His storyling seemed to change, after all scorpions same exact storyline crap changed also cause the DA isnt in this game so either is kung lao so what is kangs storyline in this game??? He sure as hell aint gonna whoop the DKs ass i can tell you that. DK would bitch slap his ass.
BUt I always hated kung Lao just as equal as i hated Lui kang, but respect for liu kang came because he was the only person i could beat MK2 with even though he sucked, and kung Lao when i played as him in MKDA, i changed my mind about him forever and he is probably one of the TOP 3 EVER NOW, cause kung lao really kicked ass in MKDA and if Kang is supposely betetr then kung lao and his looks are somewhere close to raidens new look, then we are in for a surprize and actually for some reason I wanna see Lui kangs pic in htis game and want to play as him more then any other fighter in this game. I dont know why i hate his ass, but i wanna play as him the most right about now and ima look to unlock hs ass as soon as possible. I think if they can make kung Lao a BADASS in MKDA then LUi kang will kick just as much ass in this game. i KNOW WE ALL will like Kang after this game comes out i just know it. he doesn't have a cool look or anything
they always make the most normal looking character the hero
like in street fighter it's ryu and in tekken it's Jin etc

I hate Liu Kang as well. I was getting tired of him winning the torunaments(except MKII), his annoying sounds he made and his look/story was just getting boring and dull. I was relieved when he was "killed" in MK:DA. Then we here hes back in Deception. Hell, I would of rather seem Johnny Cage come back then this bastard. Iam curious to see how he looks but hes still gonna be Liu Kang and that means he SUCKS!!!!!!

Who said he has to win this tournament? That's not what I was saying.

I dont really like to go as far as to say that i hate characters I just like them there if I get tired of playing wihtt he same characters and want to try someone different. I jsut let them be there I never really played with Liu Kang, but when I did I enjoy it because he had some badass combos in MK3 and trilogy.

fact is that people may hate liu kang now, but when they unlock him i bet every single one of them is going to play him to death.
