Why does everyone hate Liu Kang and why. or do you like him and why
I have always liked Liu Kang despite the fact that many hate him. I played Mortal Kombat at a very young age and it was like watching Barney on television to me. I always was intriuged by the look of the characters and the atmoshphere that game brought out.
Liu Kang had become my favorite character in the first Mortal Kombat because he was a good fighter and I beat alot of people with him. I had no idea what a Shaolin Monk was at the time but I looked into it and relized what Liu Kang really was. I thought that was very cool that he studied Martial Arts for his whole life and he is all about seeking enlightment and peace.
I never really saw Liu Kang as a leading man against the other threats to Earthrealm. I always thought Raiden was and Liu Kang was under him and that was that. I liked the idea of him teaming up with strangers like Johnny Cage and Sonya. They all had their own differences and that is what helped them survive together in the first Mortal Kombat tournament. I love Johnny Cage's character because of the first Mortal Kombat and I also love Raiden's character because of the first Mortal Kombat.
The reason why I respect and like Liu Kang alot is because I have a deep history with that character. He was the first character I had ever played as i n a Mortal Kombat game and I always used him and his skills to get past a tough opponent. I never payed much attention to Liu Kang's battle crys because I am too into the game and I just blank out of all sounds that don't interest me.
In Mortal Kombat 4 however, it was kind of ridiculous of Liu Kang to make all of them noises but I found them humorous with my friends when we played the game. I think Liu Kang is an overrated character and I could see why people dislike him for that but my opinion on Liu Kang will never change and will always remain the same for as long as Mortal Kombat lasts.

Whenever I'm doing anything that involves any sort of physical exertion, like playing pool or doing my taxes, I always feel better when I let fly with a Kang-style gobble. I miss you, man.
