Dont get me wrong or anything, I dont hate Scorpion at all, Im nuetral on that subject. I just dont like the fact that he has no purpose in the games, just like Johnny Cage.

i think that scorpion shoudl stay in mk for all reasons.scorpion is like a legend hes been around from mk1!along with sub-zero and all the rest.scorpion has nice/cool fatalties a great storyline and his moves are unmatched by anyone his spear move was a shock to everyone.in mk2 brought him to a new level his look was better moves were cooler and his fatalties were more violent!.mk3 sadly there were no scorpion but that wasent the end of scorpion..no in umk3 he was back hes look was defantly way better then the past mk games.his moves improved his axe was cool and his combos were awesome and again his fatalties were cool.another game was out it was called mk:trilogy.this game was like umk3 but with mortal kombat:t was more amazing more charchters,better fatlties,and of course the specter scorpion was back in action.again scorpion with better moves and fatalties,with totaly new fatlties.mk4 was out and scorpion was back in action with a new 3-d camara look scorpion was unstopabel with better fatalities and the animalitie scorpion will be abel to tranform into a scorpion and sting youre enimy and ripp out half of his body and kill him.then mortal kombat:deadly allience came out and with a massive good graphics and new charchters was the mother of all the other mk games was out.scorpion was in this game of course and with a tolaty new look the specter was back.with a kind of a bad fatltie scorpion was still the coolest mk charchter with his new combos by changing styles scorpion was unstpabel.

Sektor, what about his storyline makes it so great? I mean now that I think about it, if boon was smart, he would make Scorpion somehow come back to life in Deception in his human form of course and try to ressuruct his clan which has never had a chance to prosper in the series. I think we start to see more of Hanzo then less of scorpion

After killing Quan Chi he could return to the Netherealm with Quan Chi's head and the notion that his revenge is complete. As he throws Quan Chi's head into the flames a new evil rises and posses Scorpion's soul. He is then promoted to Oni general of the Netherealms ruler, Anubus' army. As Scorpion tries to fight back the control, his soul is ripped from his body and replaced completely with the soul of the oni general. Scorpion wanders the Nehterrealm and finds that if he can't find a body soon, the realm will eat his soul. He is able to posses bodies in the living world for a short period of time. He enters the MK tournament in the body of a fallen monk, the body belonged to Lui Kang's brother. Scorpions essence changes the body into a former shell of what it now was. He plans to return to the Netherealm and reclaim not only his body but his long-lost humanity also.

This is just a quick story I thought of to keep Scorpion in the game but I do think they should give him a new motive.

...(dah)...anyways...they dont kill scorpion cause if they kill scorpion they kill the mortal kombat games...but that its just my opinion...I may be wrong...

Scorpion is my favorite character since MK1. That said, IMO characters shouldn't be kept around just because they're "classic."
"Classic" characters don't automatically make them "interesting and worth playing." Liu Kang's gone, and the majority is happy. Other "classics" like Kano or Sonya or Johnny Cage could disappear forever and I wouldn't care. Characters should be kept around based on:
1)the fans' opinion
2)their relevence to the story.

Scorpion should be kept around because he's been a consistently good character to play as and he is a fan favorite. And like him or not, Scorpion is Mortal Kombat's franchise player.

Scorpion's revenge angle has run it's course though. He's grudge over his own death was settled in MK1 but they're dragging out his grudge over his family's death. It's time he settles it and moves on. The good thing about Scorpion is that he's neither good nor evil, so he'll take whatever side he wants; if he even chooses a side.
Whatever they do with Scorpion's storyline, I hope they maintain that he's a neutral loner character.

But scorpion has been killed! He was just granted life to avenge his death. He's a spectre, a lost soul.

I agree with almost everything there accept for a few things, I'd like to mention some.

I don't think that the fans should even really have a say in the casting for the game. Quite frankly people just want the "cool" characters. I think Midway should put who they want in the game, and make their storyies relavent to the game.

I also hope that soon Scoprion turns into a psychopath type of character. Just sort of have him discover that someone from Earthrealm killed his family, then have him go fully evil, but not have any allegiances.

Scorpion has done absolutely NOTHING important since the start!!!! I DON’T hate him, but what I do HATE is to see people complain about “old” “boring” “lame” stories of 38 characters, but tend or pretend to ignore the fact that scorpion is in the exact pathetic situation.

Scorpion should be kept till the game ends, but it would be NICE to see him sit out for a game or 2 again AND change his so repetitive and boring story!!!!! Or kill him already!

He only tries to kill the killer of his death family, but never manages to do it....and at the end...WHAT A SURPRISE!!!...he is in hell...again.

He has even died TWICE officialy!

2o Killed by Quan Chi in the acid pit of MKDA (yes this is true).

are you kidding me? popularity is what brought him back in umk3. popularity is the reason he can't be killed off. he has too many fans and midway would once again get a lot of negative feedback for not having him in the game like they did with mk3. he's like ryu in regards to the lame story. but he's the most popular character. he won't get taken out for that very reason.

heres my revised storyline for scorpian

scorpian finally gets revange on his families murderer but nothing happens scorpian is still in the land of the living, a mysterous figure suddenly appeared before him and said

scorpian if you trully want to leave this world that you must help the earthrealm warriors defeat the dragonking, then after the dragonking is defeated you must face off againts your greatest alley sub-zero, a fight to the death will make your soul pure again.

with this in mind scorpian travels to earthrealm in search of fui jin the god of wind and also the god chosen for the task of destroying the dragonking, and enrolls

he plans to defeat the dragonking in mortal kombat so that his life can have meaning, then he may truly die

this is just a thought, but:
if scorp takes any side he wants, he could take baraka's side in deception. that would be huge in this story. (don't know if anybody has posted this thought elsewhere).
