About Me
On the first page of our story,
The future seemed so bright.
But this thing turned out so evil,
I don’t know why I’m still surprised.
Even angels have their wicked schemes,
And you take that to new extremes.
But you’ll always be my hero,
Even though you lost your mind...

Rules:
Alrighty, the rules are pretty simple. Pretty much what you do is vote either yes or no depending if you want the named character (see the subject of the thread) to be in MK8 or not. The results will be posted in this post for future reference.

Results: Ermac - Yes Quan Chi - Yes Hotaru - Yes Nitara - Yes Dairou - Yes Kabal - Yes Shao Kahn - No Darrius - No Tanya - No Kintaro - No Meat - No Chameleon - No Jade - No Moloch - No
Tremor - No
Anywho, lets begin..

First character up is Shao Kahn

I vote no.

Haha, my fault, I like him as a character, but I don't see how he would fit in, he's just not a regular playable character. I want to see a new boss as well. I would like to see Kahn with the new engine though.

I really like Shao Kahn. But I don't want to see him back because he has been the main bad guy in too many games. It's time to give the new guys a chance.

Depends on if he still moves like a truck up to it's fenders in mud or not! If he moves a lil faster and has an adequate amount of moves(not just the same specials over and again) yes.But if he still moves like he has something stuck in his butt hell no! He came a long way in armageddon but still something didn't seem right.

No...
I like Kahn, I mean he is one of the ultimate evils in MK, but if they want this game to feel new they can't have him
it would just seem like the story that they apparently ended that we grew up with (well most of us) will just be bridging over into this next gen MK and they will have never ended anything with the last gen story if the main villain is still alive to continue his rain of terror into this next chapter of the story....
So if they are going to "bring as much new" to this MK they're going to leave Shao Kahn dead in that crator.

Ehhhhhhhh......No..........
In a way, I want him back, but for newness's sake, I would off him, only for his soul to be mutated (Like G1 Starscream) and posess a person.

I think they really missed the boat with Kahn's return to MK.
He's the kind of character who probably deserves to be a part of something much bigger than his apparent return to the throne was post-MKDA. Like most other MK charcaters, I'd be happy to see him put aside for something brand new, but without the situation of resurrections coming up. Though garbled at times, MK's writing is much better than cheapening life and death.

If we're talking about changing the character, I kinda like the idea of revealing more of Kahn's past. I don't know if it's contradictory to anything concretely established, but I've always liked the idea hat this powerful giant was actually a 'hideous' Shokan, who was reviled by the four-armed people as a disgusting mutant. A history that hardens him into the conqueror who would go on to effectively enslave the Shokan warriors.

Mmm! Crunchy Mortal Kombat pathos!

Much as I like Kahn, as the big defining villain on this MK generation, he should theoretically end with it.

I don't think it would work for the new story. But I do have an idea. The man was the emperor of Outworld. An evil one at that. I'm pretty sure he took what he wanted when he wanted it. That would include women. What if ... somewhere ... Kahn has progeny. A son or daughter that has been kept secret to protect them. What if that person was in the tournament instead of Kahn? They would have a take-off of Kahn's look and somewhat of the same style.
