I came home, tried it for myself, and found my error. I don't have much experience with lag and didn't know it could cause a problem like that 'till last night. So yeah, problem solved.

Really now? Because there was a Sub-Zero player the other night that was able to do his upward knee repeatedly (usually it has sufficient knockback for escape) on a laggy room/connection. If you could explain the mechanics of how lag was not the cause, I will hear you out.

For the record, lag does play a big part, that's why ppl have come up with two tier lists: online and offline. I have seen with my own eyes my fellow 88, Nomad do a 2-hit combo to someone online, and it would register as a 3-hit. If that wasn't lag, I don't know what it was then. However, lag is not the reason for everything, and we have to learn how to overcome lag, but sadly to say, spammable cheap moves work on laggy connections, so when we fall victim to those moves, we are quick to assume that its an infinite or lag was the reason when in reality they were not.

just to let u no the difference between lag and just standard online play, the overall game itself will be alterd just by going online, even if both guy have 4 bars the frame recovery rates are cut in half, thats just online.

u do realize combos like shangs 112, darkseids 11, batmans 11, deathstrokes 11, all are pretty much uninterupyable offline, so thsi is what happens online.. u cannot really block and counter in this game cause everything is safe like in umk3, after frame advantage hit, just jump away.

I am saddened with the online play, at least for the PSN. It's almost impossible to land half of my moves during the fight, some things don't connect, or its only one hit when it should be at least a two hit. It's frustrating but I think the best way to enjoy this game is with your friends. I'll still play online though. it does no harm.

Are you talking about 4 ? you do realize thats a mid right ? If for whatever reason lag change's the way the move is supposed to register, leaving you closer to your opponent, that doesnt make it an infinite, its called lag, what I suggest you do is hold block, dont duck this move, its a mid, like red said above "after frame advantige hit, just jump away."

well...i read most of this thread and have a couple of things to say...first of all, the thread starter called out a guy called Daleenquent or whatever...ive played this guy over and over and he is actually a good player...he puts together good combos and is pretty good at it...i have been called cheap because i start scorpions combos with the teleport, but its not cheap if its a 30% damage combo and if i do different combos the entire match, JUST because i start it with the teleport means nothing.

right now i am ranked first on the PS3 version and on the Hall Of Fame, i have the Most Wins, Best Streak, and Most Games trophys (my PSN ID is the same as my name on here, DecepticonCrash)...i got all of this by not being cheap, but learning combos and learning how to be evasive...like i said, people call me cheap all the time, but they are just mad because they can not stop me...im cheap because i am evasive and know when and how to do combos????? no, thats not cheap at all.

Lmao. Dude you know rank doesn't mean squat. Your name has been mentioned as this site as someone who runs away on defeat against superior players to save your rank so you can feed on noobs and boost. I haven't played you yet, but a lot of the top players I've played with say that's what you do.

a few people who could not take a loss got mad and called me cheap and started telling people i boost...but maybe you guys do not understand how the rank system works...its a POINTS system, not ranked by your record...the ONLY way to come up in the big points to get to first place is to play people with GOOD records...or people with more points than you...if you heard i boosted it was probably from a guy called Morph or Morphaze...i have beaten everyone in the top 20 more than once, and ive never seen REO on before...and if i boosted, i wouldnt have any losses...instread i got about 2300 wins and 151 losses...like i said, if i boosted, i would have NO losses...

people try and talk trash all the time to me because most people who are good can not take a loss...not all, but alot...im not the best, but i know i can hold my own against most people...and BMF, i havent played you, but if someone has a losing record, i will not even fight them...its pointless to fight someone i KNOW i will beat.

also, most of the time, rank would not matter at all...because MOST rank systems are based on what your record is...but not in this game, in this game rank is based on a POINTS system like i said...and like i said, you can not get high in rank playing noobs...let me put it like this:

if i was ranked 200 and i beat a noob, i would be ranked 199 or probably still 200...if im ranked 200 and i beat the #10 rank person, i will then be ranked about 150 or lower only after ONE fight...but once you get high in rank, say rank #5, it doesnt matter if you beat the #1 person, you are not going to get as many points as you would if you were ranked alot lower...so with this type of ranking system, getting rank #1 is VERY hard...and no ranom booster can do it...i saw someone today with 700 wins and 9 losses...and they were not even TOP 100...this is because they played noobs or boosted...

seriously, people will get mad and talk trash all the time and try to give people a bad rep...but my record and rank with THIS type of rank system makes my rep speak for itself...as said above...i dont play people with non winning records.

also...the ONLY people i play once and then decline is people who use infinites...and usually if i lose agains them, i will play them until i beat them...i wasnt TRYING to get ranked where i am, it just ended up that way...so it seems like you were mis informed about me...im not surprised though...i have beaten top ranked people and then they say NO really fast when asked to fight again, then come back in the chat and say something like, "I OWND DECEPTICON" when i just beat them down and they said NO...that has happened more than a few times when i beat high ranked people...just seems like alot of them can not take a loss.

The rank system doesnt tell you who is good, Reo and me have been on there before, but we simply dont base our gameplay on it, and we play first to 10 against every good player there is.

the best way to prove yourself, rather to get better is to play good people.
