I just wanted to know everyone's ideas for how in the game MK and DC will come to collide? Will Lex Luthor tear a hole in space time? Will Shang Tsung accidentally make a portal from Outworld to Earth instead of Earthrealm?
Will the Flash run around the earth so fast that it ends up in the MK dimension? Will Superman push the globe into the MK universe instead of our own galaxy?
Sure those aren't the best ideas, but I'm eager to hear everyone else's!

I am just asking for people to ponder what the storyline is.
The MK vs DCU game could appear anywhere on MK's timeline. Such as after MKA, or between MK1 and MK2, considering all of the fighters for MK are from MK1 (so far).

I don't think there will be any attempt to say "when" this happens MK-wise since it's not even canon.
But just for the sake of argument, Sub-Zero has a blue scar, that means it's after Deadly Alliance.

The sad part is, it would be incredibly easy to make this game canon and have it fall into the aftermath of Armageddon. I mean, c'mon, Armageddon ended with the kind of cataclysmic event that could possibly lead to the merging of the realms.

What if it's not in the storyline at all? Just some stuff that happened in an alt universe?

Hopefully there will be a Konquest to explain all of this...
The alternate universe is good, but really easy for them to do. They seem to be broadcasting the fact this is not a game to be a game, its a game with a point / plot / whatever.

This thread would be so much more interesting if it were part of the core storyline. The MK team probably haven't been great at lying down basic fundamentals, but they bumble their way into plenty.
If you were to expand on 'cosmic instabilities in both universes' as the cause of the meeting, it's a simple hop, skip, and jump to tell the story.
Obviously you do it from the MK perspective because this is their turf, nad DC routinely deal with this kind of interdimensional tom foolery, so the rules are vague and less interesting.
I agree with segregating the game to the extent that you don't want to explore the specifics of post-Armageddon events, but obviously that game's story is broad enough to facilitate the 'instabilities' referred to.
Canonizing the One Being as an abstract opponent, rather than the villain some have believed "him" to be, means you can start to use established details as the basis of the story.
Before time there was the one being and the gods in nothingness >> the gods fractured the one being to create the universe >> the perfect balance was the six realms (represented by kamidogu).
From there you get a lot of spiritual mileage, redefining Shao Kahn as a cosmic component who threatens existence by his desire to merge realms -- because merging the six realms undoes existence and reconstitutes the abstract concept of the One Being (a force of nature, as opposed to a malicious consciousness).
The flipside, of course, is that by fracturing the realms beyond the six, you weaken the fabric of the universe -- enter the DCU.
You can be as vague as accounting for the smaller realms like Zaterra and Vaeternus and others we don't know about -- or cherry pick details from Armageddon, like the endings that suggested the birth of new realms, using them as key factors in destablizing the MKU.
Darkseid's fancy enough to find his way to a vulnerable reality (which might not have been detectable until now), and you're away on your crossover! Easy!
