LET'S GO REFS!

I'm watching.
Shame the refereeing was bad in that first match. Although I do think Brazil was slightly better, the final score of 3-1 doesn't show how tough it was.
I missed the first game today, but heard there was more of refereeing bullshit going on.
The Netherlands just crushed Spain 5-1. Iker Casillas' facial expressions shown on the slow-motion replays were priceless, felt bad for the guy. It could have finished even worse for Spain given the chances the Dutch had near the end.
GO CROATIA! (I believe we will pass the group!)

U-S-A! U-S-A! but seriously I don't think there's a way Brazil loses this tournament. Well all know that's what the FIFA wants

There's no chance Brazil will win this. They have nowhere near enough quality in the team. The Spanish clearly aren't up to it, judging from last night. I'm waiting to see the Argentinians, Germans and Portuguese before I predict, but before the tournament I said Portugal so I'll stick with them

I've still been in an E3 zombie haze. Watched a lot of Australia/Chile and thought that was a pretty good competitive match, despite the scoreline. Watched a little Mexico/Cameroon. That was good, too. Got England/Italy on right now in the other room, but probably won't be paying much attention.
Netherlands made things interesting with the win against Spain.

I missed the match, but I'm sad Uruguay lost to Costa Rica. Apparently CR player really well. Suarez, best Uruguayan striker, will be back for the matches against ENG & ITA, hopefully they manage to get through the group somehow though it's going to be hard.
Shame that wonderful Pirlo's free kick attempt for Italy hit the post yesterday, would have been an amazing goal.
Bosnia and Herzegovina debuts today vs the great Argentina, good luck!

Looking forward to USA's first match. Going to be a very, very tough challenge for us this year, but I'm trying to remain optimistic.
Excited that I'll be out of work in time to catch Argentina-BiH

Was watching a replay of Iran/Nigeria, this morning. Interesting match. The different strengths and qualities of the two teams made the nil draw a pretty engaging match. I was, however, slightly distracted by the Iranian goalie:

I think we both know that's not going to happen.

Ugh. Portugal. Disappointing.

Yeah, they were bad just as their 2014 ESC entry. On the other hand, The Netherlands were superb just as their 2014 ESC entry.

This is where the cut scene transitions into FIGHT!
Watching Brazil/Mexico. Into the second half. Impressed with Mexico, so far.

I'm really hoping Chile produces an upset tomorrow against Spain and sends them home. Spain needs to rejuvenate it's squad, and introduce a new philosophy, but the only way they will do it and accept they need to do it is by being knocked out of the group stages.
And... Colombia is going to take 3 points against Ivory Coast on Thursday. Can't wait.

Cya Spain!
Came back from cinema and just found out Chile beat Spain and the World champs are out! Insane! So happy for Chile!
Watched the first game of the day, AUS-NED, from 1-1 and felt really bad for Australia losing the game. The inexperience... Went 2-1 up and minutes after, basically while still celebrating the lead, conceived a goal.
At 2-2 they had a great chance to score and go 3-2 up, but failed, which produced a counter-attack that produced the winning goal for the Dutch. Tsk. Would have been crazy if Aussies had beaten the Dutch and then Chile Spain...
I can't remember now, but that long-distance goal Aussies conceived, the 2nd or the 3rd one, I felt their goalie was to blame, he just had to defend that shot, it was within his reach.
Time for Croatia's second game. GOOOO!

Can't help but notice that Mick is the only one in this thread that doesn't have his country's flag under his avatar. Come on, Mick. Tell everyone where you're from. Don't be ashamed.

Chileeeeeeeeeeee~!
Did not see this level of collapse coming from Spain. Amazing.
It's a double-edged sword. I think the unrefined, bullish style of Australia is key to their success. If they can sharpen up their positions and confidence in those positions, they can be dangerous. I don't think you want to change the mental game too much. They just need to keep working to raise the standard of the game in the country so they can have more depth. $0.02.

Croatia looking good against Cameroon.
