Anyone here have Knights of the Old Republic?

I'm curious to know since I've been having a lot of problems playing it. The game crashes randomly all the time. Sometimes I can play for a long time and nothing happens...other times it just crashes over and over again. It used to only be annoying...but now I can't advance any further into the game. Everytime I try to leave the area I'm in the game freezes. So basically I'm stuck and I can't do anything. I've updated the game to the lastest version, I've updated my video drivers...etc etc. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions...I've looked up the problem on the net and I couldn't find anything helpful.

Little extra info:

-Amd Athlon XP 3000+
-1024 MB Ram
-XFX GeForce 5200

My CPU, Case, and video card temps are fine. I'm out of ideas...why is this game crashing!!!??

Have you tried a reinstall? Doubt it will help, but it's worth a shot.

Yah... I just did that about 10 minutes ago. It was a long waste of time since it's 4 cd's.

Yea, I actually heard about this. I have it for my XBOX, so I dont know if there is anything you can do. I actually told my friends to aviod the PC version becuase of those problems.

No, you can only strike down Bastilla near the very end, and you have to be on the light side.

Cool, could you tell me how the conversation turns into a fight and if it takes place before or after the fight with malak? and wouldn't you have to be on the dark side instead of the light side? thanks alot.

could you tell me how the conversation acts out, just go like
bastila: says something

custom character: says something and just tell me what they say and what happens. thankssmile

Lol, I dont even remember. Its been too long. Im sure you could find out something like that though. Just search for KOTOR FAQs.

OK. I went to the gamespot FAQS and why is it that every one of them Damn FAQS stop right whenever it is talking about tatooine. i guess they dont want to give away spoilers, does anyone know of any site that gives the FULL FAQ?

2nd of All: No, I don't have KOTOR. I want to try it out, but I do have Jedi Knight Academy for pc, and to me they look very similar.

The graphics may look the same but the gameplay is kinda different, (spoilers) it is kind of like playing final fantasy when you choose your own attack you want to make like: power attack, flurry, critical strike, and power blast. it is fun that way though because you dont have to keep on pressing left right bx ba left down and all that other crap.

I do have an X-box, thats the same console i have KOTOR on....and im almost finished with the game as soon as i find a way to beat him. i just got finished trying and i didn't even get 1 hit off of him. after you beat malak it is the end of the game right??
