Ninja Theory is just a developer, not a publisher. So thankfully, DMC reboot won't ever happen again.
But on topic, MS would be stupid to pick up Capcom. Japan has been abundantly clear about how they feel when it comes to Xbox. Nintendo or Sony buying them would be a lot better. But I still don't want any of the big 3 to buy them.

That doesn't make sense... Mortal Kombat have had the same developers, but switched publishers from Midway to WB, and that didn't stop MK from being made. Hence why I hope NT will get the rights to DMC so they can continue the DmC franchise. Or maybe another publisher would get their hands on the rights and hire NT to make a sequal.

Yeah because NRS was given it's own studio by their publisher. Developers don't own IPs. The publishers do. The developers just make the games. The reason MK was made by the MK team is because they owned that studio.
And after the reception that game got, there will never be a sequel. Hate to break it to you.

Midway (publisher) owned Mortal Kombat (IP) and "NRS" (first-party developer). When Warner Brothers (publisher) bought Midway (publisher), they bought Mortal Kombat (IP) and NRS (first-party developer).
Ninja Theory is a third-party developer. If Capcom and/or its IP assets were to be sold -- Ninja Theory would not likely be a factor in that deal. Capcom don't own Ninja Theory. Ninja Theory work with various developers on IPs they don't own.
Midway was bankrupt and sold outright. Capcom is being publicly traded and is now open to a controlling share. Capcom have called "excessive outsourcing" a cause for a decline in quality. So even with a dramatic change in their business, you wouldn't really expect Ninja Theory to be involved. (Never say never, though).

Will Microsoft Buy Capcom?- Podcast Unlocked
I love Mortal Kombat, but i also love Street Fighter. I'm also a Sony Playstation User. Have been since after Super Nintendo
So when i heard this podcast. I was like WTF? Really?!
There betting on Microsoft to buy out Capcom. Could you imagine... If Microsoft did? They would get exclusive rights to ever capcom title. Mostly Street Fighter.
We might lose out on our Capcom purchases off the Playstation Network.
I'm going throw this out there.... but i think Warner Bros should take this chance to grab Capcom while they can.
At least with them, there wouldn't be a exclusive to console only property.
Thoughts?

Well, Capcom has been making a lot of desperate decisions lately, been milking Street Fighter 4 dry and Resident Evil fans don't seem to be crazy about how things have been developing.
Can't say that I'm surprised.

Here's to MKxSF.
I don't see any companies in the video game industry short of the big 4 (Sony, Nintendo, Microsoft, Sega) buying out Capcom. And considering Capcom's shape now I can see nobody in the big 4 video game companies wanting to buy out Capcom instead of buying a franchise or two and leaving it at that.
And let's be honest, it's not like any of the big 4 buying out Capcom will lead to Megaman and other "classic" Capcom franchises being revived.
