Gamestop is now offering the Collectors Edition of Dead or Alive 5 and is selling for $80! This edition includes the following:

-Steel case packaging
-Hardcover art book
-Soundtrack
-Poster
-Premium swimsuits for the characters

They also released pre-order incentives. If you pre-order from Gamestop, you will receive swimsuits for Kasumi, Leifang, and Hitomi with a bunny motif. As while if you pre-order from Amazon, you get "DOA Devils", a collection of black swimsuits for Christie, Ayane, and Tina.

My thoughts?

While I would love to have those black swimsuits, I already pre-ordered from Gamestop, but it's ok because Leifang happens to be my main and I'll take all the extra costumes they have for her! Also, the collectors edition of this game being only $80...that is pretty inexpensive for a limited edition in my personal experience, especially with everything that's being packaged with it. I had already paid off my game, I suppose another 20 dollars won't hurt to upgrade to the Collectors Edition.

There is also news of 2 new characters being revealed this weekend so be on the lookout for that!

What are your thoughts on this Collectors Edition? Would you be willing to buy? Or if you already pre-ordered, are you willing to upgrade? Why or why not?

I was reading about him on the DOA wiki earlier this morning. I guess he's one of the characters that was going to get revealed this weekend along with Mila I believe. He looks pretty promising however, I'll give him a go in sparring mode when I get my hand on the game.

No, I don't think there will be anymore Halo stuff in DOA. I believe it was just promotion at the time because there was a new Halo game coming out

rig looks to be a badass. he reminds me of kim from king of fighters. he uses tae kwan doe. finally doa gets a tae kwan doe fighter. it's about damn time.

Following the footsteps of the DLC found on the SFXT disc, hackers have apparently uncovered costume data for the entire DOA5 cast on the demo disc. In addition to the entire DOA4 cast, new characters Mila & Rig will make their debut, along with Akira, Sarah & Pai of Virtua Fighter fame. If this is true, you can bet Team Ninja & Tecmo aren't very happy about this. Either way, the inclusion of more VF characters should get fans hyped! The full list is as follows:

Update: A Tecmo Koei spokesperson told Kotaku: "The entire Dead or Alive 5 cast has not been confirmed as of current date, but Tecmo Koei and Team NINJA will have more to reveal in the coming months leading up to its release which is on track for 2012."

On the VF thing, I personally believe that Akira and Sarah were more than enough for guest characters. I guess I can live with Pai being in it just as long as this doesn't turn into DOA vs VF. Hopefully it'll just stay at 3 guest characters or just Akira and Sarah at the very least.

I only care for Sarah and Jacky Bryant of Virtua Fighter, Sarah being my favourite, so having to see her in DOA5 is cool. ^^

DoA only has like 4 Ninjas(Ryu, Ayane, Hayate and Kasumi) .__. Kage-Maru is my main in Final Showdown along with Pai and Aoi :P
MK has like 8-10 ninjas though lol

Only? It's 1/5 of the roster! Usually, fighting games have about 1 or 2 ninjas tops, except for Mortal Kombat where half the cast are assassins of some sort. I think 4 is more than enough.
