Didn't Deadpool die in the movie though? How can they go off and make a movie about him? Are they going to make basically what happens after the team splits up and then Sabretooth goes after the other mutants?

Your thoughts?

I don't know how many Deadpool fans are here, but a draft of the Deadpool script leaked its way to the wily world web and has generated a surprisingly amount of good feedback. I wanted to resist, but I couldn't. I tracked a copy down and read it.

It's insane. Amazing. Vulgar and violet, hilarious and disturbing, authentic and over-the-top. It sounds like the most nerdy, amazing, adolescent's wet dream of guns, knives, explosions, boobies, bombs, kung-fu, flamethrowers, farting, and unicorns ever to exist.

If you want to read someone else's spoiler-free review, check out Cinema Blend's review here: Deadpool Script Review

I don't normally ever get excited for a film, but this is a film that has an uphill struggle. It's so violet and crass that I can easily see Fox getting cold feet or trying to neutered it from its hard-R to a PG-13, and the inclusion of a fan-favorite X-men character doesn't help knowing that some kiddies like him. So we'll see if they stick to their guns. If this is allowed to go through, though?

It'll see it. Twice. Three times. I smiled like a loon from beginning to end reading the script myself. Wow, it's just so bizarre and so fresh, especially compared to all the "upstanding" superhero movies coming out.

Don't forget, he married the Black Widow too. There's a Marvel and DC crossover every night in their bedroom.

Only because Scarlett Johanson managed to chew through her wrist binds, pick the lock on my cellar door, wriggle under the razor wire, and... I uh... I mean congrats to the newlyweds!

don't forget (although maybe you'd like to) he was in the terrible, Blade Trinity too

and I have a bad feeling that this leaked script will get changed a bunch... i'm guessing this is an early draft, and Marvel will neuter it (or Disney, since that's who owns them now...)

He was the best part of Blade: Trinity. Well, between his backtalk to Blade and Jessica Biel's gratuitous body shots. It was mainly the plot and pacing that were just utterly terrible. "So, when can we sign you up for one of our Night Stalker decoder rings?"

Hard to imagine the character being in, or needing, an R rating.
That would cut out a sizeable chunk of the audience they're probably trying to capitalize on. Afterall, everybody knows the current treatment of Deadpool is solely for the amusement of thirteen year olds sharing panels posted to 4chan and scans_daliy that they found whilst Google Image searching. Do you even need an R rating to punctuate sentences with Bea Arthur and giggle milk out your nose? Wakka wakka.

Probably should've read about the film script before whining. Maybe, by some bizarre twist of fate, the adaptation process fixes everything that's wrong with a character who became an unremarkable commercialized parody of himself. [citation needed]

Blade: Trinity really wasn't that bad, either.

I refuse to read it because I want to experience it in all its glory when it's made, but I'm glad you guys liked it. That gets me even more excited for the film to be made.

Well, like a genius, I left it until now to actually read the site review, giving legal enough time to have the review taken down.

Was there anything in particular that inspired all these warm and fuzzy feelings? Any details/descriptions someone could relay?

Deadpool script review

Well, I've downed a tall glass of STFU.
With the exception of the comparison to Family Guy and a couple of the usual Hollywood type changes, that sounds very promising! I think a movie that mocks the Wolverine version is all you could ask for. Everything else is tasty cake.

Fingers crossed it actually gets made.
It's obviously the movie Reynolds should've been making. I don't know what he's bringing to the Green Lantern table. At least in Deadpool, as the review explains, he might add something special.

- Simon Kinberg Talks Fox’s Marvel Universe, Expanding into TV Adaptations, and an R-Rated DEADPOOL

“Yeah, it makes sense to me. Genuinely it’s early phases, early days, but if you’re gonna do a Deadpool movie, I think you’ve gotta do a hard-R, darker movie and he is the perfect character to do it with.”

I can't help but laugh any time I see "news" about a Deadpool movie.

- Hugh Jackman keen for Wolverine and Deadpool to square off once more

I think that the sort of badass, fast-talking, funny, annoying Deadpool vs Wolverine would still be cool. We’ve sort of done it, but I think we could have done that much better.

Hugh Jackman's talking up a lot of Wolverine big screen battles. Gotta think this one actually has a shot at happening. They don't seem to have anything specific in mind for a Wolverine sequel. You just never know!

- Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool Movie Test Footage Is Heartbreakingly Perfect

Despite X-Men Origins: Wolverine and Green Lantern, there was one comic superhero Ryan Reynolds was born to play — Deadpool. Test footage from the once-in-development movie has surfaced, and not only is it great, it is genuinely tragic that this movie has never been made... yet.

Get it while it's hot. It might not last!

I remember that the lead guy from Blur Studios was assigned to this movie. The footage is great though, and it captures the 4th wall breaking perfectly. The only complaint I can already hear is that fans of the character would prefer the older Deadpool and not the one that's currently in comics.

- X-Men Spinoff ‘Deadpool’ to Hit Theaters Feb. 12, 2016

Fox and Marvel have slotted “Deadpool,” their long-in-development “X-Men” spin-off, for Feb. 12, 2016.

Ryan Reynolds, who portrayed the character in 2009’s “X-Men Origins: Wolverine,” has been expected to star for many years, although no deal is in place.

Tim Miller is directing the superhero film with Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel’s Kevin Feige producing.

Look back at the date of the first post in this thread. Then marvel [Pun intended? You'll never know!] at the fact that this is really happening!

- Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Deadpool’ Eyes ‘Silicon Valley’s’ T.J. Miller, ‘Transporter Legacy’s’ Ed Skrein (Exclusive)

Fresh off three of last year’s highest-grossing movies and a hit HBO series, T.J. Miller is in early talks to join Ryan Reynolds in “Deadpool,” and so is “The Transporter Legacy” star Ed Skrein, multiple individuals familiar with the 20th Century Fox project has told TheWrap.

Representatives for 20th Century Fox and Miller had no comment, while a representative for Skrein did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

VFX veteran Tim Miller is directing from a script by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Lauren Shuler Donner is producing the film, which will be released on Feb. 12, 2016.

“Deadpool” will have a comedic edge lacking in most super-serious superhero movies, and the role Miller has been offered serves as an additional comic voice to compliment Deadpool, who often breaks the fourth wall and speaks directly to the audience.

Skrein’s talks are further along and while his role remains unknown, it’s possible that the up-and-coming action star could play the film’s villain.

Reynolds originated the role of Deadpool in “X-Men Origins: Wolverine.” When test footage for a standalone “Deadpool” movie leaked online, reaction was overwhelmingly positive, which paved the way for Reynolds’ return.
