Christians?

Atheists celebrate christmas because of what it is, not what it stands for. Nobody celebrates anymore because its "Jesus' brithday', what it really is, is a time to celebrate with family and/or friends. Just because someone doesn't believe in religion or God doesn't mean they don't believe in spending time with those close to them. It's not like you can't give a gift to someone who doesn't share the same views that you do. All Christmas really is now is a market tool.

I saw Jupiter and Venus together in the southwest sky earlier tonight. It was really something. We're all so caught up in our lives, but when we look above...we see how small we really are...

Some people can look down and realize how small they are too.

Because of the popularity and the world and the day off and etc. I don't celebrate it anymore because I learned about its origins.
In Gen 10 of the bible there a man named Nimrod from the line of Ham. He was a mighty man and led a revolt against God by building the tower of babel. This man Nimrod was born on the date of none other than.....DECEMBER 25!
Jesus wasn't even born on December 25. He couldn't have been because of the setting of his birth. It wasn't even a winter setting. This December 25th day was celebrated far before the birth of Jesus and was dedicated to Nimrod and pagan gods. This day has a significant spiritual background which does not tie into Jesus. Not to mention, Jesus never told anyone to celebrate his birthday nor Dec 25 or any other holiday. Man has been doing these Christmas traditions for thousands of years to this day.
-The gifts
-The tree
-The yule logs (for the yule god)
-The bulbs on the tree (symbolizing your head rolling)
-The decorations of silver and gold on the tree (Jer 10:1-6)
-The missle toe
-etc, the list goes on.
This is not a Christian holiday nor does it have anything to do with being Christian. If this is the case, why do Christians celebrate it? Because the Roman Catholic Church brought in this pagan holiday and changed some things about it so as to make Christmas appear more innocent. The RCC lied about Dec 25. To make matters worse, they make you lie to your children about a man named Santa(an anagram of Satan) Clause that does all these supernatural things. They say he judges the good kids from the bad kids, all kind of other stuff you know of. Its a LIE! When kids realize the lie, they don't take supernatural stuff serious anymore cause they were lied to once already about Santa.
The fact of the reality is that, pagans did everything that we do today on Christmas thousands of years ago. Ask yourself when putting up the tree, "why am I doing this"? What can your answer truly be? I have no reason to so I don't.
Even worse, because I choose not to celebrate this holiday, I will be treated with contempt as if I've done some great evil. If you wanna gather with your family, then gather, why wait for 1 day in the year? Same for giving gifts, why wait for 1 day to give? This stuff has been embedded in us from birth so I don't expect anyone to give this up so easily. Yes, I also know that you celebrate it in innocence, not wishing to do harm or evil. I know this but I also know its history and true meanings. I just weigh the options and choose.
Sorry for bringing up the truth in here.

I know Jesus wasn't born on Christmas, it's just on that date because the Christians of the past wanted more people to convert to christianity. Still, it's just the day that people celebrate his birth. Not his birth day, just his birth.
And I don't really care if Atheist celebrate Christmas, I just thought it was kind of weird.

Is anyone else a bit surprised by the 7.5 review rating MK vs DC as been getting?
I would think it would get at least a 8.0.
I'm debating if this is my favorite mk game yet. I really really like it. I think I'm enjoying it more than SCIV.

Just rented that game, it's the shit! It's so awesome man! Thanks so much for recommending for me to get it, i just beat story mode, and it has to be one of the funnest game's ive ever played. It's by far my favorite MK game so far.

Is anyone else watching the reruns of Lost on TV because they didn't keep up with any seasons in the past?

A friend of mine is being evicted from his apartment. This is the second time in his entire life he's been evicted from a home.
Two of my friends lost their jobs this month too, one of which lives in his own place and is having trouble paying the rent.
My friend's grandmother broke her hip and recently had surgery.
Little sister's computer basically went kaput and it seems that she's lost all her information, including word documents and photos; she made no back-ups of her stuff.
For once it seems I'm having a really good November, and it seems a lot of good people I know have not been as fortunate.

God Damnit! I downloaded the trial of SSF2 THD...all excited to use my 1400 points card to buy the game finally and...I scratch the back off and part of the numbers and letters are illegible.
Called customer service and to make a long story short I'm Shit out of Luck.
I have a serial number on the side I could have given them and even a partial code, surely they could verify that and that it hasn't been used and give me the points to my account but no.
Ah well, I did manage to get the only copy available in the closest town of MK vs DCU Kollectors edition though.
The game itself thus far? Great!
The Collector's extras? Not worth the extra $10.
Shoddy case and cardboard inserts for the discs? Not even a proper dvd case to hold them? You'd think since we're paying an extra $10 we'd get these things and not get ripped off for it.
The comic would have been worth something if it were regular sized like ones in the store are, not some mini booklet that could be thrown in with the manual for free.
And considering the extras dvd content is viewable online well....lets just say I'm never buying a Kollectors edition from this series ever again.

My father forced me to watch season 1 and I hated it because he forced me to watch it. Then we both quit and I moved in with my grandparents and they were watching it on DVD (season 1) and I totally got hooked on my own. I watched the whole first season on my own and have been religiously glued to my television ever since. Lost is amazing. I can't wait for January.

Meh, I do it 'cause it's fun. Everyone gathers together and gives each other presents, my lil' cousins think that someone named Santa is actually coming, my dad pretends to be him by dressing as him and in the middle of the night putting out the presents, my cousins always think they catch him, he gives them a "free" present so they "keep quiet" and in the morning you can see them all gleaming and happy, feeling all sneaky and stuff, they open their presents and love them, everyone else obviously gets their presents, and we're all happy.
We do it cause it's the one day where the family is kind to each other. No one gets mad, or has an argument, we're all just happy.
And also, what the fuck is a yule log?
