I believe there should be no Shadow Priests at all. I have always thought this, and I always will. I remember the SP being something that you earned, after the Skilled Champion rank.

We have plenty enough mods to do the things that they do, and SPs can just give out DPs. I, however, rarely see DPs given out anymore. DPs used to be given out a lot more than now, and I guess that has been planned.

What mk5.org needs is no ranks (just members and mods) or more ranks. Also, the visit counter sucks.

Honestly, I'd rather see posts than visits. I'm curious at how many I have... Probably thousands.

Anyway, earning SP rank through DPs would be a good idea if the number it took to rank up were lowered, but then you'd have the possibility of having too many.

Well seeing these comments here in the Drive By about how moderation works around here on MKO, I guess it's time for me to step up to the plate.

First and foremost, I appreciate everyone's concerns about MKO and giving out your opinions. I love reading them and getting ideas on how I can tell the staff how to better MKO. However, there were also comments that I read in here that I didn't like so I just want to get my 2 cents into it.

Casselman's Promotion
-Okay so it seems that people here dislike Casselman ever since he got promoted to Shadow Priest because of his inactivity and the scam about how he is really a clone. In all honesty, I didn't even know he was a clone and I don't know the full story to that so I'm not gonna bother commenting. What I will comment though is the inactivity. Yes I agree with m0s3ph, I haven't seen him on MKO lately. I don't know, maybe he's online when I'm offline. But the point of the matter is, He is not the only Shadow Priest on this forum. If anything, I've also noticed a lot of inactivity with other Shadow Priests as well (Won't name names). The only real reason to this is mainly because...MKA sucks. I'm serious, that's the main problem. MKA sucks donkey dick. Once that game came out, the MKA forums became a ghost town. I'm sure everyone else has noticed as well. Now, there won't be another game until next year making this site go into down time for a long time. So until 2008, everyone here would be like this:

Moderator Activity
-I'm going to be very honest with all of you but whoever made that comment about "Oh mods didn't check this thread" and then link it, I'm sorry but I hate comments like that. That is by far the worst thing any member could say. It's like mocking us and not appreciating what we do on the forums. So sorry for missing ONE thread out of all the billions of threads that we have to check everyday. Sometimes mods can't be on the internet patrolling MKO everyday. We have things that we do outside the internet such as working, holidays, helping out parents around the house, or hanging out with friends. Instead of whining about mods missing a thread, why don't you just PM the link to a mod and we would get back to it as soon as we see it? To put it simple, I find comments like that very rude, so whoever said that, that's my response to it.

Removing the visits and other useless crap
-I agree 100% Visits and other lame add ons are only useful in wasting space. If they were removed, the site would run faster (At least from what I was told). But this is not something that I, alone, can accomplish. It's something for the site admin. to look at. Oh and by the way, there is a thread, in fact a sticky, at the top of the General Discussion forum called the MKO Official Feedback Thread. If you have concerns about the site that need to be voiced out, that's what that thread is for. Keep it out of the Drive By. It's discussions and constant bickering over arguments such as this, that got the others closed.

Now before I end my post, please be advised that this post was based on speaking my mind about what you guys have been saying in the last 2 pages and showing that there are moderators that do care about what you have to say. If you took offense to any of it...cry me a river.

99% of site have ranks guys. I suggest you get over it that. As far as the SPs go, that will be dealt with, very soon.

I can only assume you are referring to my post, would have been nice if you used my name, I mean my post was just a few above yours. In fact I think you should reread my post because you have clearly misunderstood it. Heck you even quoted it wrong; I said nothing like “Oh mods didn’t check this thread”. I also don’t think you checked that thread properly, if you did you would have noticed that a moderator had already displayed their presence in the thread.

My main gripe wasn’t that the thread was not moderated at all, but the moderation it did receive was poor. I mean where in my post did I complain that you missed a thread? Where did I say I expected or even wanted you to check every thread and be online everyday?

Do you know how patronising it sounds to me, going on about a life outside the internet? It’s almost like you are implying I don’t have a life, the way you go about describing it.

Moving on, where was I whining in that post? It was a question, one meant for my fellow users not the mods. Here’s the reason I made that post, I saw something I was unhappy with and wanted the opinion of my peers to see if they agreed with me or not. You see I was afraid I was overreacting, taking things a little too seriously and judging from the one reply it got it seems I was. I don’t particularly care about PMing mods about threads that need to be closed because eventually they get round to it. Yes that’s right, I have faith in the abilities of the mods, big shock eh? The only real thing I care about is helping out my fellow users or pointing out things I grossly disagree with. And please don’t preach the PM system if you’re not prepared to use it yourself.

I don’t see why you have to take any criticism of SPs/mods/staff as a personal attack. There is no reason to act so damn defensively just address the situation with a level head. Stop playing the victim all the time, the whole world is not out to get you.

It's your problem if you found it as offensive. I found it just as offensive for even mentioning in the Drive By. Of all places really you had to bring it up here. Re-read my post. It's posts that you made such as accusing the mods for not their job, causing the previous Drive By's to be closed. Why don't you take my advice and just PM the link instead of bringing it in here?

There's an official MKO feedback thread. I even linked it in my post. It's also a sticky in the General Discussion.
